I'd like to hear your combo with a bass fiddle plucked and a simple set of drums and brushes. I'm in my 70's, and would like to play along with the music I love to hear. I played guitar till carpal tunnel prevented my playing. I had the surgery and now, I can't cord the neck any more! Hang in there and LISTEN TO EACH OTHER. That is your key. Match what the other is doing. Keep the same beat, the same spirit, the same mood, the same musical statement that the other player is doing. When one is doing the LEAD, the other backs them up and doesn't go out of time, then you switch times, and the other person Leads. They are the one that carries the tune. If no one carries the tune, the listener is lost. I hope this bit of information helps you. I was playing in a band when I met my wife. Many years went by till hand health, from too much use of an impact gun at work, ended my playing. Good luck to you both.
