This was the best video I found. Far and away. It was a very detailed presentation. I wish I had found this at the top of the UA-cam list prior to installing. Other versions, primarily distributors and sellers of this mfg were fairly vague and glassed over details. I get it! They are promoting their knowledge on why it is beneficial for a product. But the installation lacked install details. Much thanks to whom ever put this together. I could have been done in 20 minutes instead of watching 1.5 hours of vague instructions and self promotion. Thanks again. Great video.
I had one on my 2021 3.5 Just put one on my new 2024. I over maintain all my toys and find this a good easy way of keeping unwanted gunk out of my engine. Easy to install, I empty it every 6-8 weeks. Usually it’s half full max.
2023 3.5L Ecoboost; I couldn't get the J-clips on far enough. Not sure if the battery tray flange was redesigned. Used rivets instead of clips and screws.
I tried to use the clips on my 17. Didn’t line up perfectly. Had to tweak and muscle it in a bit on the factory battery hole at an angle. Same after centering the drilled hole. Easy fix I just bored the holes out a tad larger. I know this product covers a large lot of years. Great video
Thank you for the install video. Three questions regarding a check valve: 1) With the intake under boost, does a catch can system on a 3.5 Ecoboost engine require a one way check valve to prevent intake pressure from back feeding the system? 2) If so, should that check valve be on the intake manifold hose, or should it be on the valve cover hose? 3) Does your kit have an integrated check valve? Thank you for your time and help.
No, the filter side of the can should go to the PCV valve. The open port should go to the intake. Dirty air comes into the filter, clean air passes on to the intake.
@@HungBallz69 It's all push lock hose and barbed connections so you might not be able to pull them off but you can cut through the dress up ends and hose and shorten if you'd like. If you have more questions feel free to reach out to us at info@jlosc.com
Here's the next thing I've noticed. When everything is warmed up, there is so much vacuum the hoses collapse. Motor runs fine just recommending a spring insert inside the hoses to keep from collapsing. Or supply rigid tube.
The hoses should not be collapsing. If you are having an issue with your hoses, please reach out to us at info@jlosc.com and we'll get you taken care of.
In our experience, no. The only time we see any clean side collection out of these trucks is when they're hooked to a heavy trailer all day every day. The passenger side (dirty side) is all you need for the average user.
THE BEST install video for this product. You've left nothing for interpretation. No brainer. Thank you so much!

On the 2021 and newer trucks you will need to use the supplied M6 lock nuts instead of the clips 👍

Ran into the same issue on my 2018 raptor. J clips wouldn’t line up properly, I just used the supplied bolts and nylon nuts. Not a big deal.

Our kits are designed to be used in conjunction with the OEM PCV check valves on the valve cover already. They don't need any additional check valves.
The hose side with the mesh should be the side going to the intake?

Can I just pull the ends off and trim the hose?

I’ve had it on both my recent 3.5’s with no issues, although I will check …
do you need a catch can for both sides of engine?

Are these legal in Commiefornia?
As far as we know they won't fail the smog test with an oil separator, however we are unable to ship to CA due to CARB regulations.
Ah, dang. I'll get one when I drive to Nevada since I have relitives there. My work around. Lol
BTW, A great, informative video! Thanks! 👍
