Chevy Cruze Aftermarket Trunk Switch Install

Installation Video for Aftermarket trunk switch on a 2013 Chevy Cruze.

Tools needed:
- 7mm socket
- Phillips Screwdriver
- Wire cutters
- Zip ties
- Electrical tape
- any other tools you need for your preferred method of keeping your newly conjoined wires together. (solder, etc.)

I put a resistor on the illumination wire when I did mine. I don't remember the resistance. I also put mine on 12V constant to charge my phone without a key.

FWIW....on a 2014 cruze diesel, the trunk wire is in the same pink connector, in the same spot, 3 up from bottom right, but is different color....solid purple. did mine today, different switch, usb has has connector at end of wire, and switch is lit up, so tapped into yellow wire in the lock/unlock switch in the center dash.

yeah, i was tugging away at the plug in the back of the stock airbag light, wasnt coming out, watch the video again....oh wait, leave it plugged in, lol

Ha yeah definitely leave it plugged in. Could cause the airbags to not deploy in an accident if you unplugged it.

I work in a shop and had a few minutes of downtime so I just pulled it in and connected those wires. It lights up now ha.

FYI... for anyone still owning a late model Chevrolet Cruze and you want to perform this add-on modification. The purple wire (thick wire) harness to tap for the USB connection is directly underneath the coin cup in a black lever release type harness. The yellow wire is for the pictograph car/trunk LED, and to light only with key you need tap yellow wire into brown wire (thick wire) of vehicles lock/unlock (dash wedge) harness.

El amarillo se conecta en el cable amarillo de los seguros ( bloqueo y desbloqueo de puertas) y el blanco no va en la cajita café, se conecta en el purpura que esta abajo del monedero

Hola, yo conecté el rojo en la caja rosada, el blanco en la caja café, tal como se ve en el vídeo, y el amarillo en el amarillo del botón de apertura, pero no me funciona la apertura de la maletera, solo me funciona el USB.... Que está mal? Tu lo realizaste?

Yes the USB port worked. I do not have this vehicle anymore however you need to wire the USB wires to a.power source of your choice
