Everything I needed to know, you answered perfectly! I have a Caladium that bloom actually gigantic flowers! No idea how, never seen it till now. But stunning.
Omg! Thank you so much for this video! I i’ve bought my caladiums a few months ago and went to UA-cam to help me with the growing needs as this was the first time I have ever bought any...and guess what? There were like almost no videos talking about caladiums as indoor plants! I’m super glad you are making this video. 😊
I am so glad I found your video! 🥰 I just acquired TWO stunning caladiums from a local nursery... BEAUTIFUL well established plants for (brace yourself) EIGHT USD!!! They are gorgeous. Google lens tells me that their common name is "the heart of Jesus"... I feel like I hit the jackpot... However, if I hadn't seen your video I would have panicked in the fall when it started to die back 😂 Thank you!!
Thank you, super helpful! I decided to try these out after seeing the variety "fairytale". If I don't kill it I'll keep an eye out for these types, they're so beautiful
What is this sorcery! /s Joke aside, they were $10 per bulb here. Update : Not only was it expensive for a bulb, it was also dead. The only thing it ever produced was mold. Ended-up buying an already-grown Caladium from those gift-plants racks that stores recieve for Mothers' Day. It wasen't my ''dream Caladium'', but it was healthy, pretty-enough, and at reasonable price. Oh and it's doing good. I tried direct afternoon Sun and got a tiny burn on one leaf. So it needs a sheer curtain for mid-day and afternoon Sun, and it will thrive in this high light. I can't go over 50% humidity though. Best I can get is 35% - 50%. We will see. Update : Only one tiny leaf ever burned, so I gave it unfiltered Sun again and it did great.
I just leave mine outside. I’ve learned they don’t like being in my house too much lol. I dig the bulbs up and store them for the cold season then bring them back out for spring and summer (:
So glad I found you!! I have watered my Caladiums and keep them half sun/shade but for some reason they droop no matter what 🙈😬😭 maybe it’s too dark where I have them ugh. So I have to see how you keep them in winter. Subscribed👍 Please do more videos on the grow lights with plants not seed plants. Thank you!! Love your channel and plant babies 🪴🌱🌿🥰😍
Hey so caladiums indoors will go dormant over the winter period, meaning all the leaves will die off & you can leave them be or dig out the bulbs until the following year. So I’ve not kept mine growing over winter before
My caladiums have been growing outdoors and under directly sunlight all day long. I think they love it, because they grow these giant leaves much bigger than my face, and I barely fertilize them! I don't think they can reach their full potential without direct light.
I give mine Sun indoors too. Didn't burn last year. Dosen't burn now. What will burn them is sudden Sun after growing in full shade, and wind + hot dry air. All of these burn risks are worsened if the plant gets thristy. The plants grown in greenhouses that garden centers get delivered here often burn if put outside in the wind and Sun.
Where do you live? I live in Texas and see caladiums like warm weather but it’s like 100f weather outside and not sure if it’s better I put them on my balcony where they’re shaded all day or keep it indoors by window.
@@Thomasgonzaleswd Caladiums originated in south and central America and thrive in other tropical countries such as Thailand and Indonesia where temperature constantly soars to above 100f in the summer, so they can handle hot weather. But in Texas, humidity might be on the lower side. So I guess it makes sense to shade caladiums when it's both hot and dry.
I had 13 of them and non made it through the winter (I also kinda started to neglect them😅😅) so I ordered 7 different ones off a seller on Etsy for like $30USD and it’s all bulbs and it’s a total of 11-15 bulbs cuz she tends to sometimes add small extra
Thanks! I suppose you could stake them but you'd have to be really careful not to stake it too close to the centre where you catch the bulb... not sure if it would be worth it really as they don't vine or anything
I not sure if you re seeing but i bought caladiums as an adult for outsider bought it inside it dropped. I put in my bathroom nice sun no burns and there was nice drainage. Any suggestions cause I need some.

White wonders are my favorite 🩷🤍

@@amandaamanda5398 thanks! That what I figured since the leaves are delicate. I may try them outside but I know they still can live indoors too

Great job!
When you cut the foliage out, did you cut all the stems outside the soil out? Or you leave to some length above the soil?
Red Flash Caladium sings ''it might not be Christmas for you, but it's always Christmas for me''.
Magnificent.
i have one of these on my porch and it needs HELP i want to bring it in for the winter
Thanks for the tips as always
Always glad to help!

Great caladium video care!👏🏽👏🏽 Have you ever tried staking these or can they be staked? &will it harm them?
Thanks! I suppose you could stake them but you'd have to be really careful not to stake it too close to the centre where you catch the bulb... not sure if it would be worth it really as they don't vine or anything
Do you have any updates on these? How they did in their dormancy?
So they did fine when I took the bulbs out of the soil & let them dry for winter. But I decided not to plant them up the next year
@@GoodGrowing thanks for letting me know! This video was super helpful as I'm considering getting some for my new place 😊
Is there a video on how to fertilize?
Any reason mine lasted all winter I have a humidifier and grow lights
I not sure if you re seeing but i bought caladiums as an adult for outsider bought it inside it dropped. I put in my bathroom nice sun no burns and there was nice drainage. Any suggestions cause I need some.
I left my bulbs in a pot and they got crispy dry, had to buy new ones.
Tried Caladiums in Leca or Pons ?
Have tubber type of soil to used to grow caladium
Lidl have these ATM all different colours for 5.99 bigger than the one you are showing us
just picked a full grown caladium for $1 yesterday.
they're sooo much cheaper in the states!! Over here they cost way more! so glad you can find bargains!
By the way I am a native of Honduras, CA...been living in the USA since 1962...
Who actually asked?
Can I get roots without propagating with just cutting?
I don't think so. They need the tubers to produce roots
Mine was doing great then a bulb popped up now she’s dropping :(
I grow mine in my apt. In water
Hai
OMG! I am so Afraid Of My Neighbours! 😱 My House Is So So...showing !
you are beautiful

I chop it as low as possible, to the bulb if you can
