@Ask Zac, You've got a whole new channel going... Zac's Bookshelf. Love it! Cheers!
Love you sharing your books with us.
I bought The Rolling Stones Gear book because I noticed it during your videos.
Yeah, man. I still need a copy of that. It’s getting pricey too!
In 1982, I bought a Peavey T-60, a Peavey Backstage 20, and "The Guitar Handbook" and was off to the races!
Great episode! Still love the old guitar books and still re read them!
I have the fender amps book the first 50 years, same paperback. Great book. As soon as I started buying up blackface amps I was sure to pick a copy up. 👌
The two things that amazed me the most; Reggie Young’s Dyna Comp and playing a Chuck Berry song for your kids at bedtime! 😂 If I have any Chuck after lunch I’ll never fall asleep.
Dang, i thought i was finally gonna find out about that polka dot plate thats been driving me nuts
That bowl was on our Granny’s book shelf. I don’t know where she got it.
Fantastic video zac .really informative. A collection you should be proud of
Very interesting video! It's great to discover many similarities with our own bookshelves. For this writer it all started with American Guitars by Tom Wheeler. André Duchossoir's books will alway be outstanding: written by a french author and finding the first edition of The Fender Stratocaster and Gibson Electrics in Paris while visiting Magnetic France, a great vintage guitar store owned by Patrice Bastien (Guitar Express).
Wow, Reggie Youngs MXR that is awesome! Great video, really loved it.
I would love to see an additional episode about the other shelves. I have the Strat in the Attic book that I see up on the higher shelf there! I love all things Deke Dickerson related! 🤠
Thanks Zac!
I have quite of few of these books but those Blackguard and Pinecaster books are so amazingly expensive. I would love to have a copy of each but good lord. I love books so much.
Thanks for sharing your shelves with us.
Thank you for sharing this with us.
I have many of these books and the Jimmy Bryant Speedy West record!
Got to meet Doc Koffman before he passed away. He had a go on my Tele! ( He worked on it)
This was fantastic!!! Show the crazy stuff too as I’m sure we would all enjoy it. I think you have a new segment idea….just do a video on each shelf partition and there you go. I’m new to your channel and a huge fan even though I don’t play. Just a music fan, but I love listening and watching. SO interesting.
@AskZac Absolutely loved it ! Yes please, give us more ! ! !
I have the speedy west and jimmy Bryant ep on my bookshelf. A blatant steel of your idea!!
17:05 HE HAS THE 📦 box ! 🎶🎼🎵
Awesome video and thanks Zac, every video I always peek trying to see the book so this brings peace to me 😂🔥 such a great collection
Very much enjoyed this episode Zac. And I’m drooling over Reggie’s MXR Dyna Comp! What a piece of history there!
I have the same books, and a LOT more dust on my shelves lol. My favorite is The Sound Heard... I'm your Strat playing half brother lol. Also, anyone else keep seeing that bowl, with pimento olives on it, first look like its going in like a bowl and then out, like the back of a bowl? Zac keeps switching it the whole video like a subliminal message. ;-)
Zac,
Thank you very much for this episode. I just ordered two of the Tom Wheeler books as a limited edition deluxe set with 3 cd’s. The Stratocaster Chronicles (1 cd) and The Soul of Tone (2 cd’s) from Amazon $375!
Nice Vidz. Zacinator. Keep on pickin' Cowkidz
“This book was loaned to me by J.D. Simo.”
Paul McCartney once told me it’s not polite to name drop.
Interesting video Zac, I also have the Pinecaster set, I had ordered it straight away when you announced it. Of course by the all the cooler edition numbers were all basically taken though ahah 😂
Enjoy your feeds always and thank you.
Tommy~
Aloha Zac! At point or another I owned many of the books you have. They been a source of knowledge and entertainment. Mahalo Zac!
I got the Fender Telecaster book....gonna use it to wire my tele build, so I hope those are correct...I have seen people trying to sell it for $300, I found it for $29....Zac effect in action :p
You need a copy of Clapton's Guitar, by Allen St. John.
Oddly, I wonder about this almost every episode I watch!!
I have the Stratocaster Chronicles, Soul of Tone, and The Blackguard book. They are great references.
Hey Zac, I play a Gibson 335 and predominantly like old country music (is a very understated way to say "am obsessed with") I often wonder if and who in the country world may have also played a 335 since it seems so dominated by telecasters. A preliminary google search didn't do me much luck. If you have any ideas I'd love to hear em, but as a video idea, it might be fun to do an exploration of country players who bucked the trend and predominantly played non-telecaster guitars, or less common types for country music.
Hope all is well. Peace.
The 335 was much more used in Nashville than the Tele in the 60s and 70s.
@@AskZac I in my heart know it must have been , at least in sessions, but Maybe theres a video in it then because even now I search youtube and all I get is videos like “Is the ES335 the most versatile guitar? Can it do Country?” I just wanna see clips of old session players ripping it on one.
My coolest book is my copy of The Guitar book by Tom Wheeler. I bought it in 1979. It still has the dust cover. $18.95 was big money for me when I was 18 years old.
I must have got mine in 1980. Boy did that book give me the bug!
It's great
Dave Hunter's Telecaster Book is riddled with errors in the photo captions.
Zac, do something on Duane Eddy...because of...twang.
@Ask Zac random question that I haven’t heard asked nor seen you answer: What is your opinion of 4-way switches on a Telecaster? Do you see benefit (in your playing and style) in the series setting?
What a fantastic video have a wonderful day Zac also i like your new haircut ❤❤❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊😊😊
I have a great mid 70s Morris acoustic guitar. I knew you had some good info on them before. Would you recommend The Guitar Handbook?
They were made by Moridaira in Japan.
How did you miss a quick story about the coolest mug on the planet sitting back there?
ummmmm....I still have your Vox JMI era book that I have to get back to you! Sorry I've had it so long.
I didn't out you. We need to lunch.
Do you still have your Les Paul?
Yes
That’s good news
