- Unboxing some product samples from Alibaba for the eCommerce brand I'm working on starting. This shows that it's a good reason and smart to order product samples before placing first orders in case their products are of poor quality like I found out.

Yeah, definitely is, just gotta pay a little more.
How exciting! I'm not your target market but the second minimal wallet with the wood accent looks the most premium. And yeah the leather (both genuine and PU) ones don't look like the quality's so good. And duuuuuude. If you're already breaking those samples, DON'T DO IT. It's also great to delay your launch till you have the right products and launch plan. Excited to see how this develops!
Yup, I'm a big fan of that wallet too! But we definitely aren't going with the supplier with the poor quality products 😂

Loved seeing the samples. I don't mind so much the bubble wrap, but hate all the layers of taping. I would definitely go with the supplier that went all out to get your private label business. I also loved your logo!

Great to see the sample products that you received. Are the wallets rfid blocking? It's funny, as watch lovers, (we have about 15 watches) when we travel we usually just take a few with us and put them in our rolled up socks in the suitcase haha. Well, good luck with the new business :)
Yup, all the wallets are RFID blocking, but I did some research and it turns out people don't actually steal any information that way (from different articles I read). Seems more of a marketing tactic that wallet companies/suppliers use now I guess. That's funny how you travel with your watches though! 😅 I used to just put them in my Citizen cases that they would come in and have a couple of those in my luggage.
I remember when I used to drop ship it was so hard to work with certain suppliers to get the product/packaging done right but hopefully you are able to get there. Great progress!
Where'd you ship from? We'll be packaging them ourselves. We've got a few orders in already, just gotta wait till launch.

Ha you’re not an idiot but think about it if you had that problem with breaking it, odds are as would your customers who would not return..
May I suggest you do a tan or light brown leather for your watch holder..
( you mentioned needing two more colours)
Most men I know tend to go more for the brown..

Yea some companies over there ship so fast or they have warehouses here in the states. Ordered a gaming chair for my little bro from that site on a friday got it on monday. Nice clean logo man excited to see where you go from here.
Wow, that's some insane shipping times! Much better than Apple. I'm looking at getting some stuff from them and their shipping time is over a month.

Hopefully by the time you start shipping speeds up some. I know shipping everywhere has slowed due to covid.

Yeah, some of the packaging was pretty wild ehh 😅 but luckily it was just for the samples. We got a few orders in already and they're looking pretty nice. It's honestly not that big, probably could be a little smaller, but it fits my watches nicely in there. It'll also be really nice to ship it ourselves, so like you said, we know exactly what's going on... Just a little extra work. Thanks James!
Alibaba sometimes has QC with their products but they are overall really nice!

It's a secret 😉 haha but the minimal wood wallet (3 different colors), the Apple Air tag wallet (two styles from a different supplier), the crazy horse leather wallet, and the watch roll from the really good supplier (two styles).

@@maxstyne Yeah, currently running into some issues with shipping/lead times, but that's the plan to open with all those products available.
If you wanted to, you could ask your supplier to send you the product out without the logo at some point in the future. You could design your own or ask them to do it for you. Enjoying your journey. LIKE 8#
