- UKRailtours and Hastings Diesels Limited announced that they would be doing a tour to 13 of the 14 Mainline London Termini (excluding Moorgate for clearance and compatibility reasons) in one go. We decided to try and see the tour at all 13, and, for the most part, succeeded.
The tour started at Liverpool Street, then travelled to Fenchurch Street, Kings Cross, Euston, St Pancras, Marylebone, Paddington, Waterloo, Blackfriars, Victoria, Charing Cross and Cannon Street before finishing at London Bridge.
Tight timings meant that there’s no departure video for Charing Cross, and no video at all for Cannon Street, but I’m considering it a success.
Despite the whole ordeal taking so long, I had no time to take establishing footage of most of the stations I visited. I have therefore added a list of the termini in order in response to a few comments.
I’ve tried to edit it down but if you think 20 minutes is a long time try chasing the thing for 14 hours.
Filmed 15/04/23
Love the camera shake with whistle got you on nearly everyone lol
You won’t be surprised to hear that I get that comment on a lot of my videos…
I can imagine, it being a very loud and sudden noise.
Extraordinary tour so well planned, and on time Hopefully will be repeated. MartinM
Amazing,thanks for your sharing 👌👌👌👍👍👍
Thanks for the video, alot to film for this chase around London terminals!!😎🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🇬🇧
Interesting but it would have been interesting to see something of the routes that enabled the Hastings unit get between in each of termini. It must have been a complex journey.
This was a great rail tour. It was also a very long day but well worth it. Thank you for chasing "us" around and sharing your footage. 😀😀I even spotted myself😀
Why on earth did you not take a quick picture of each station name so we knew exactly where you were for each movement.
Because doing this involved a lot of running
(And - probably related to the above - I forgot to)
I was about to ask the same question ... Would have been nice to have a shot of the outside of each London railway terminus to show where each station is. Or, at least, a station name on each platform.
I know London very well but was still puzzled as to the location of several stations. Some had overhead cabling, narrowing it down. Plus, the hideous "air building" offices blocks common to several London stations didn't help matters. Charing Cross? Euston? Fenchurch Street? Cannon Street? Liverpool Street (still conspicuous near the concourse).
Still a good video, though. I used to go on the Hastings Thumpers, growing up in Tunbridge Wells, Kent, pre-1986 Jaffa Cakes ...
Omg francis at marylebone
What order are the stations in?
Did they have tickets for this tour
Yes
@@Jeagles I want to try it next time or next year
I don’t think it’s the sort of thing that gets done often. The Hastings unit is out quite regularly but as far as I know it’s the first and only time any railtour has done 13 termini in a day
@Jeagles I spoken to UK railtours and they said they might do it next year
@@Jeagles There's a website called Seven Bells Junction that tries to record every excursion ever run (especially in Britain but they also try to get from around the world, too). I'm pretty sure that they have records of similar trips in the 1960s, although I can't be certain that they got quite ALL the termini, I do think that at least some tours got some of the stations that have been lost-Holborn Viaduct and Broad Street-so I think that it evens out.
