Good information. Thank you. My Bachmann 4MT tank loco had 2 screws recessed into the tops of the side tanks. The only way to replace them was to place a small piece of “Blutack” on the end of my screwdriver. That held the screws until they engaged into the top of the tanks. A head torch also helped.
Thanks for the mention in the video. The decoders come from Soundtraxx without a speaker but at the time you bought it I had picked that speaker as a suitable speaker to fit most models, but I agree its a bit too big for some models so I have since been supplying them with iPhone speakers like the one that you used. The Eco-100 and Eco-200 decoders come without an 8 pin plug too from Soundtraxx but to make them more useable and easier for people to fit I solder them on before I send them out to customers. Another important feature of the steam decoders is the ability to synchronise the 'chuffs' with the wheel rotations, something you can do on top of the range decoders but not TTS. I'm glad you like it, if you are ever buying anything else to use in videos get in touch before you order, I might be able to offer a small discount on some items as it helps me too. Thanks, Richard
Thanks Richard - those are some great points about the advantage of Econami over TTS. I'm always happy to recommend you, as you've always provided great customer service and advice.
They've been out for a few years now, but they seem to have gone under the radar until recently. The fact they always seem to sell out quickly shows they are popular!
hi John hope you are well? am not into dcc sound ect but this chip seems great for those who are yes few of bachmann models need a retool chassie keep safe arp

I've been thinking I might need to get one of those magnifying headsets with the built in light.
Hello John, that was very interesting. Fitting a sound decoder into a locomotive always adds to the realism i think. Well done, you did a great job.
Thanks Martin! It's really tricky loco to get into and find space for everything - or at least it was for me. You're right about sound.
Just seen this locomotive in action on your layout in the other video. Sounds really good. I've not heard of these decoders.
Thanks Jake Richards for the feedback, much appreciated!

I've never heard of these before - they sound pretty good.

Well done. Been watching these decoders and they look great. Good channel ,carry on.
Thanks, will do! I really like the Econami decoders. Using them in diesels too.
That sounds really good.
Thanks Trevor Davies for the feedback, much appreciated!

I'm keeping well, thanks Adi. Really like the idea of these chips, but the TTS ones can still be good too.
