Thank you so much for this video!! I have a NCE power cab, been struggling with the manual for months, thanks to this video i can now control my dcc points. Cheers
I have an NCE Powercab and a Peco turntable fitted with a Locomotech motor kit that is connected to an ESU decoder. It operates almost perfectly. I would love to program CV 4=0 in order to stop the turntable immediately the rails align BUT the decoder continues for a second or two (just like it would do for any locomotive). This is fine for locomotive braking purposes but NOT for operating a turntable. The NCE Powercab simply does not allow for changing CV values for accessory decoders but only locomotives physically sitting on the rails. So I'm at a bit of a loss with accessory programming.
Hi John. I'm installing the DCC Concepts Cobalt ADS Solenoid Controller with the three to two wire adaptor for the points on my N gauge Kato Unitrack setup. It says on the 3 wire adaptor instructions that the default throw time may not be enough, something I am aware of with the Kato switches on occasion if you throw the switch too fast the point doesn't move throw it slower and it does. It says that the default throw time can be adjusted. Actual wording is "Please follow the decoder manufactures specific instructions when you are adjusting the timing" Any idea???
Hi and thanks for this. Can you clarify as I’m new to the NCE Powercab… I’ve set up the PowerCab to a DCC Concepts Cobalt ip motor… I tap the Select Accy key to pull up the point motor (in my case it is accessory number 1), and once accessed, press 1 to move the point blade over. This is the bit I need clarifying… to switch the point blade back again, I need press the Select Accy key again, select the point motor and then press 2. What I’m asking is, is there a simpler/speedier way that I may be missing here? Thanks in advance 👍🏻🚂
If its just a single point, then not as far as I know. If you are setting a couple of points at once, then I use a macro to set a route through the pointwork.
What the manual shows is how to program an NCE accessory decoder. Not a DCC concepts accessory decoder. The same SET/RUN and "send command" procedure is used for other DCC systems for the ADS and other DCCconcepts products such as the Cobalt Digital IP and Cobalt SS. ^RB @DCCconcepts

Glad it helped! The manual is very poor.
Are you an Exeter boy like me John?
Your videos are most excellent, thank you for uploading some very imformative content
Hi Simon! Yes I am - grew up right next to St, Davids station too.
Thanks for this. Handy tip!
Glad it was helpful!
You make great videos, keep going and post links to them in the facebook train groups where you can.. It will help build the channel.
Thanks, will do!

Brilliant piece of advice, chuck the NCE Manual out the window, wish I’d found you sooner

Do you have to take all the Locos off the track
No, not at all.
@@MessingaboutwithModels thank you.
