Sony sLog3 to REC709 LUT - Free Download

This SLOG3 to REC-709 LUT is designed to be used against footage that was captured 1.5 to 1.7 stops over exposed. It was built from scratch by me and used with my footage.

This video is an example of the use of this LUT. The LUT itself is located on my website as a free download. Please note, the use of this LUT will have mixed results based on your shooting conditions. So long as your footage has proper white balance, proper exposure, and good lighting(Low ISO), you will see great results. Also, depending on the source of the footage(8bit 4:2:0 vs 4:2:2 vs 10Bit or even RAW), you may or may not see banding or other artifacts caused from a stretch in the footage when the overall image contrast is corrected and the saturation is increased. If your footage is not perfect, I would first adjust the exposure and white-balance and then apply this LUT. In resolve this would entail the use of a node for these corrections and then a second node for the LUT. Lastly, this is a LUT designed to bring you into the REC709 colorspace rather than giving you an artistic look.

I’ve got both on my site, and frankly this was set and forget, but if it ain’t good, don’t use it. That’s one of the reasons I personally don’t use luts, because everybody shoots different, in different scenarios, and with different settings. This LUT may work for one person but not another. I got confused man, give a guy a break! 😂I didn’t look at which video when responding to the comment. The slog-2 vid is the official LUT, and on my site, as I said, I’ve got both official and custom luts, regardless, they’re all free. 🤷‍♂️
