So many of us are in the intermediate learning level trying to perfect what we know and how we do it, i appreciate your video not wasting time explaining basic things we already know. We need more videos like this on UA-cam. Thank you!
@@MisterHenry I need to second this! I have been on the hunt and this was a banger! Thank you so much. Hope the algorithm shoots this to the top with this comment!!!
Of all the videos I've watched on grading SLOG3, this one was still very helpful for all the additional tidbits you dropped in there, probably the most helpful tbh
Thank you very much for the tuto you hepled me a lot. I struggled to color grading slog video and you tuto help me understand the steps I have to fallow.
By far the best video I’ve seen on color grading in premiere pro. Thank you for going over how to grade without affecting skin tones I was struggling with that
Almost ready to give up entirely on shooting in SLOG3 after watching 10 SLOG editing videos... then this! I simply cannot understand why almost no other videos touched on using the conversion lut from Sony, such a no brainer and saves you tonnnns of time before more refined color gradings.
I was thought we have to create different adjustment layers on top of each other and make the corrections on each one. But you are doing it everything in the same original clip? Does it matters?
Really informative video, now I know a lot about what I don't know, so I've got some work to do lol! As an aside, the LUTs disappear from my folder and I have to copy them again each time, seems odd.
I noticed you did both your conversion lut, basic corrections, and your grading all on one clip. I see a lot of other people doing it in layers. Applying the conversion lut on the clip and color corrections then doing their grading/ stylized LUT on an adjustment layer above that clip. Ive also seen a few people do it all on the one clip but they create a new lunetri color effect for the conversion and grading. Whats the benefit of doing that?
Hi, I'm just getting into shooting SLOG and I was wondering when you use the Hue Vs Sat pen tool to pop the red on the gloves, you say to hold down the shift key at the same time when adjusting the color dots up or down. I was just curious if that helps to only pop that specific subject and not any other red in the frame or can you just adjust the dots up or down without holding shift. Just curious. Thanks again for this tutorial.
Hey there, it will shift the general colour that’s being selected. Be aware though, it will shift all the colours in the frame. You’d have to mask out the places where you don’t want it to change.
One is the basic conversion lut and the other (Make it look cool LUT) is handy to whack on if you need to apply something quick and dirty to get your footage to look good fast.

Muchas, gracias!!
Great video for a beginner like me. Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks so much for watching Sai
Attention, LUT is for SLog3, but Gamut3"Cine" not for Gamut3, so if you are recording on Gamut3 (without cine) this is not for you
Could you tell me what's the difference?

how does skin tone line work for other skin tones aka people with some melanin ?
Are we not allowed to use free Sony LUTS on monetized videos? I'm worried about using it on projects and getting a copyright strike

Why do you need to mask before using the color picker?
So you can Isolate the skin tones on the vectorscope when correcting.
When should I use "......SLog3_to_LC709" and when should I use ".....SLog3_to_Cine+709?? I have shot on Sony FS7 with Cine EI Gamut SLog3
how to making black in around frame after select mask?

how to make black area after masking?
Can you tell me if you have any cine4 convention for footage and if you do can you plis make a video about it
Please Daniel Henry how can I get the slog3 to rec 709 lut, could you post a link to download it?
thanks
Link is in the description buddy.
what font did you use there with the yellow color?
Why are there two different LUTs in the download link? Whats the difference?
One is the basic conversion lut and the other (Make it look cool LUT) is handy to whack on if you need to apply something quick and dirty to get your footage to look good fast.
🙏
How come yours says Rex 709 but mine says for resolve
You’ve downloaded the wrong LUT buddy. It’s the selection above that one in the download page. 👍
None of those LUT's is in the technical folder for Adobe. Why are you showing this?
Link to the LUT is in the description dude. The Technical folder is where you need to put it.
