I do not understand the thumbs down you always seem to get. It’s always good, interesting information well delivered. I feel like if you don’t like it it’s really not the channel to be watching in the first place. Pointless just watching to criticise. Don’t have an AM but always enjoy learning. 👍🏻
It was interesting to hear a little bit about your background as a development engineer. I wonder if you would consider doing a video or better yet, a series of videos where you talk about the work you did at Aston Martin? I don’t think I’d be alone in saying that I would be very interested to hear more about those years.
finally some real info on runnning-in and what you are trying to do/need for cylinder pressure to avoid glazing and oil consumption! Why the heck did manufacturers always specify a 1500km or something tedious low speed running-period then?
Thumbs up mike, would love to see some episodes in the future like Iain Tyrrell where you show maybe a work in progress on a engine resturation/repair and talk about god and bad, share knowledge and so on, just like Tyrells classic workshop, just love that chanel, even though Im a AML guy at heart. Anyway keep up the good work!
Thanks Mike, another interesting video, but you forgot to mention when talking about Ian Tyrrell how good a singer he is ! He sings and cuts a record on the youtube video "most famous lamborghini ever " all proceeds go to charity too !
No, I think Mike is referring to test engines only being measured in controlled conditions to determine data. As far as I know your new AM car will have a new unused engine not bedded in hence why a run in phase iten quoted.
Great advice Mike however, if I see (for instance) a 2005 DB9 with around 13k miles under its wheels can your argument not be attributed to cars such as this also and should buyers be wary of such cars? Given a 15 year old car, one or two owner doing less than 1000 miles a year cannot have got to or past its green phase bedding in. This engine may not be showing its full potential on the dyno (451hp as quoted by AM) and will in fact be in its glazing phase where engine power will not be up to where it should be and would not change unless rebuilt and run in correctly. Or am I missing the point?
Hi there, when you mentioned this previously, we monitored the sound closely. In the project files, the sound wave stays at a constant middle point. We've also asked several customers who have not found this a problem. If this is still an issue for you, we suspect it may be a problem specific to your device/ speaker system.

Some people just wake up in the morning with that kind of attitude.

Thank you for replying to my answer. Always a pleasure to hear and learn from your experience... much appreciated
Great video, really informative.
Brilliant Mike. Just Brilliant

So its currently end off 2022 currently looking a 2008 with 20k on it, its not cheap either...... Should i not buy now 🤔
Just to be clear.....do all manufacturers do a greening phase on the dyno on all engines before they are installed in the vehicle ?
