      Declan Gallagher would be a class signing for QPR on a nominal fee
      6.5 built like a brick shit house wins everything up top and good passer of the ball nothing flashy but he wont lose it
      Improved a poor Scotland defence exactly the kind of player championship teams need

      Young Josh Reid at Ross County is class to and on bosman only 18 has Pompey after him

    This is absolutely spot on. Totally agree about MW; key not to become too wrapped up in short-term panic, always have to bear the long term development and direction in mind. The clubs that have had such success (Swansea, Bournemouth, Sheff Utd) all take their time, don't overspend and build there identity... trust the process. However, big week ahead... you r'sss.

    Live in NW London and lots of my friends support QPR so I always have a slightly vested interest, been to plenty of games with them and it's always a good time down at the Loft. Never seen a club who go through such highs and lows so quickly, never a dull day at QPR haha.

  • @nr18media
    @nr18media 3 роки тому +20

    I can draw a lot of comparisons with Norwich in that we've got a very similar business model in terms of what we want to achieve but QPR haven't had a real massive hit (like Maddison, Godfrey, Murphys and Lewis to a lesser extent) and probably did worse than they should have done out of the Ebere Eze deal. QPR were in a similar position to Norwich when we were selling Maddison but a) didn't capitalise fully on Eze's undoubted value and talent and b) didn't get the replacements required with the money they received. It's a real piece of misfortune for QPR that the pandemic hit when it did as in any "normal" season, Eze goes for the same sort of money that Maddison did.

    • @geoffc6932
      @geoffc6932 3 роки тому +3

      One would assume the Eze money has mostly been invested in our sub-par infrastructure (new training ground underway), trying to get a new stadium and assisting with our FFP fine. The timing of the deal was unlucky, but he was always going to leave that window.

    Very much enjoyed that and great analysis of where we are at. I completely agree - I think we are a few players off being a decent side. Especially at full back. I really don't rate Todd kane at all - he is steady but offers nothing offensively. Since Manning left, we never seem to put any decent balls into the box, and hasn't helped we don't have a clinical striker. I do worry about the lack of pace in the side barring BOS and chair. I think we could definitely do with a quick left and right back who can attack well.

    @guystephenson9350 3 роки тому

    Well said James, agree with all you said about Warburton. I feel the problem is structural. The problem with the constant use of loanees is that, yes, they can turn a side around but then they are either recalled mid loan or return to their parent club at the end of the season. Then we have to start all over again rebuilding the team. The improved younger players see instability and a lack of ambition and so understandably jump ship.
    Which is exactly what happened this season.
    Signing a few key quality permanent players though signals intent and provides stability to the whole squad. Doing otherwise just repeats the whole cycle season after season.

  • @ben_edgington

    As a QPR fan I agree with a majority of what you said, some thoughts; in terms of fullbacks I do and don't agree, rb Kane isn't good enough however I believe kakay has been one of our most consistent performers when played, he is slightly limited going forward but is improving, I compare him to our wan-bassaka he's rarely beaten, lb I agree. I personally think Barbet cannot play he has decent games but as you said always drops a clanger and I think his habit rubs off on Dickie. I disagree with your point on our midfield, I personally really like Ball he's progressive and works hard, Cameron isn't good enough to play, he's a ball winner that never wins the ball and always overplays, there no cohesion in there carroll has good spells but his lightweighted nature always shows in the end, I believe we need a more box to box style cm, going back a few seasons ago I think luongos energy would really suit our midfield today, or alternatively a more championship ready version of carroll in terms of physicality. Personally I also believe finding and sticking with an opposite winger to compliment Bright has been an issue, I was really disappointed be loaned out shodipo as I had him tipped as this seasons breakout player (and he's smashing it at Oxford) but we haven't had a consistent threat on the opposite flank, hillock I believe should be given a consistent run, which then frees chair up to do his thing in the middle. Austin for me was a great signing the way I saw it was look at the Fulham game any of those chances fall to him we win that game, as I just think we don't play to dykes's strengths enough, there isn't enough quality put into the box for him to really attack. Overall I agree with you id stick with Warbuton but he does have to slightly adapt, relegation is worrying but I believe. I trust our new process and can really resonate more with this team than teams of recent past with youngsters of our own coming through.
    Hopefully this made sense. Great vid 👍

    The danger with going down with a lot of young players is that they will get poached for a cut price. A team can slip down the football league very quickly. As a Grimsby fan, we have a lot of good young players coming through our academy and into our first team but if we go down because Holloway left us with an awful squad, we can say goodbye to all of those and before we know it we're spending another 6yrs in non-league. Trusting in youth is a good strategy but if they don't work it can backfire terribly

    I’m a portsmouth fan and we’ve seemed to change our philosophy this season from long ball to progressive one touch football in a 442 where we play a good holding midfielder in tom naylor and an energetic runner in Andy cannon as our midfield which keeps a good balance however if either get injured or suspended we’ve got nothing like them and we’ve suffered when they haven’t played losing 90% of our games without them which is bad for a team who have recently (without playing due to covid issues) dropped out of the automatic spots not only that we have a goal scorer in john marquis playing next to a winger flash 9 hybrid that is rotated between Ryan Williams and Marcus harness and it really frustrates me how in games players like Ronan Curtis and Michael jacobs just go missing for large parts of the game.
    It’s a system that on its day works but the players aren’t used to after being drilled into playing a pragmatic longball 4231 system in the past 3 years.
    We’ve got some good targets but unlike a lot of clubs in league 1 having no fans has really hit our finances badly after going from consistently 17/18k a week to no one not only the finances have been hit but our home from was really poor up until the end of November/December due to drifting out of games towards the end where the fans would drag the players through that time and lift them
    As a fan it’s tough to see no fans especially at your home ground so hope everyone’s seasons are going well or pick up
    Thanks for reading good luck for the second half of the season unless your Southampton 👍🏻🔵

    Found this video really interesting from a Rangers FC standpoint having Warburton as a manager before. Warburton played some of the best attacking football i’ve seen at Ibrox but sometimes when games get tough he doesn’t have a plan B (he’s probably said the same clichés over and over again) and his stubbornness really shows. The team will have lots of possession but rarely make clear cut chances. For example, we passed the ball about looking for the perfect goal instead of shooting from distance when it was on. He’s a decent manager but very naive and stubborn in his philosophy. Sad Lee Wallace is past his best for you guys he was a quality player but age has probably got the better of him. All the best for the rest of the season.

    QPR fan here! Can’t Disagree - My Only addition would be the pace and counter attacking this season compared to last. Think of the goals we scored last season on the counter with Chair, Eze, Wells and Bright! I can think of 1 goal this season we’ve scored on the counter (against Rotherham). The pace on the attack of this season seems so slow than last is my point. But agree with everything else

      I agree, our team hasn't got enough pace anymore barring BOS, chair. I think that could be solved with some better and quicker full backs that offer something going forward.

    I feel u missing Loftus road (Kiyan prince) so much especially as it's like walking distance so I have to see it all the time.

    Genuinely completely agree with almost everything you said about the super hoops (apart from bonne dk why we signed him for 2 million) very good clear and well thought out analysis

    We’re (Wednesday) on 19 points and in 21st, think that table is showing our original points deduction before it got halved.

    A lot of the things you’re saying about warburton are pretty much exactly what rangers fans were saying towards the end of his rangers tenure. The no plan b thing was a main criticism

    Every day when you're walking down the street
    Everybody that you meet
    Has an original point of view
    And I say, "Hey!"
    What a wonderful kind of day
    Where you can learn to work and play
    And get along with each other
