She kept my attention the whole time. Her voice was so soothing and each step was explained in a way I could understand clearly. 😌 The results turned out stunning and so was the teaching! Thank you for this!
You make me realize how absolute shit my old nail techs were. One time I went in after getting a fresh set, and I had lifting 2 days later! I was very shy and so instead of just buffing it down and filling it...they ripped them off my nails with plyers and charged me full price for a new set. I was too non-confrontational to say anything. My experiences there and other similar places made me swear off fake nails. I wish every town had someone like you!
I'm a nail tech in a small town . I feel as if most ppl feel like you . I'm thinking of doing classes dedicated to teaching ppl How to do their own using systems you can easily get at a local Sally's . but in scared to start working out of fear of embarrassment that ppl will make fun of me. What do you think ? Would ppl be interested in learning to do their own?
nikki mitchell I’d be interested! Grew up in a small town with not that great nail salons (and have always been a DIY-er) and I would have loved for someone to teach me! I don’t think anyone would have any reason to make fun of you for sharing what you do and supporting your community 💜
nikki mitchell I would be interested too if someone in my town did it. We have a lot of nail salons but everyone is in such a hurry I quit going. Ive had nails ripped off too! I’m quite a bit older than you and have been watching Suzie and I’m ready to try myself. I think you should go for it! Good luck!! 👍
Thanks for mentioning that I went to get gel removal done and they burned through my natural nail leaving it actually filled to the point where there was a dip in my natural nail the drills were too coarse and on a super fast setting still recovering it was so painful and did so much damage to my natural nails. From now on I’m researching places and not doing walk ins ever again.
Nicole Nyaga there's a phrase in nail tech world. We call it rings of fire, and it's a sure sign you should break up with your nail tech, or salon if you do walk ins
Same thing happened to me! My index finger on my right hand is still recovering. It's been months and that nail is still so thin that I'm terrified that the little thin layer that is left will break off. Not sure what to do about it.
Nikki Ny Thats where my pasión for nails started. I would always go to the nail shop & ask for creative stuff; they could never do. & not 2 mention they would always hurt mean the process. Now I Love would I do, I get paid to do it & my clients still can’t believe u can have pretty nails w/o ruining your own☺️🥰
I've never had acrylic nails or ever had my nails done by a professional, but this is so interesting and calming. Thanks Jenna for letting me know about this channel. hahaha
TIP: I use this and here's what I've changed. The BRUSH! I use an acrylic brush and it holds more slip, easier to manipulate the product. Also wet the Slicer in slip and the bead comes off beautifully. Just what I have changed and its easier to use, faster, smoother, less filing and no mess with laying down the bead it comes off the Slicer without problems.
I know your comment is from a year ago but I had tti respond because I've noticed the same thing! I don't use an acrylic brush, but I found a gel brush that holds more slip and it was a total game changer! Someone even left a comment under one of my videos asking how the polygel seemed so effortless to use 🙌🏻
@@2LRanch227 Why would you use a dual form if you're using tips anyway? The dual form is to form the nail. If you're using tips then you form the nail onto the tips. There's no reason to use a dual form on a tip.
Suzie you have such a motivating voice! You project optimism and familiarity essential to any educator. I recently wasn't able to do my nail extensions for over a year due to uncontrollable circumstances which sucked some serious butt. I've recently come back into the nail scene and found it hard to connect to a lot of old nail directed channels I used to enjoy, but not yours! You are an awesome lady who just doesn't get boring!
Suzie, your voice is so soothing and calming. I'm just like, so chill listening to your tutorials in the background while I'm working, while also learning about poly infills. God bless.
Hi Suzie! What about a video on health&safety. Do your hands get sore and tired especially after how long you have been doing nails? My sister had to give up acrylic as her thumbs and wrists were too painful and all of us have sore backs from doing it 😣 I've heard people say nail techs usually give the trade up after 10 years because of pain 😣
Megan Beattie yes please do a video on this! I'm not even a nail tech but doing my own nails can be so dangerous for my poor fingers, wrists, arms, and back. I have no clue how professionals do it all day! I have so much respect for people who can do this artistry professionally.
I feel like she really does best practices, making sure your work station is ergonomic, she has talked about making sure the e-file hand piece is light and small so it doesn’t hurt her wrist. She also had talked about a few times that she wears a mask to protect her lungs from the dust and irritants. A full video would be awesome to see though!
Yes that is an issue and specifically why I never went to school for anything in the industry. I've had caprel tunnel since I was 20 years old. My dad has been doing hair for 35-40 years and it is hard on your body.
It is my humble dream to have my nails done by Suzie. I've never gotten acrylic nails but I've wanted them since I was 4 years old. It has been instilled in me that it's too dangerous, that I could ruin my nails... I don't think I could trust anyone but Suzie to do my nails! Hopefully one day my dream will come true!!
Nicolette Levandoski Totally the same way. I just love listening to her soothing voice and she is so amazing at explaining and teaching. If I was ever to have wanted a career in nails. Suzie is who I would have wanted to learn from. Love to you Suzie 💖💗

Hi Suzie. After a brain injury 2 years ago I have had to retire from work at just 53. For many years having beautiful nails have been part of my work uniform, so once I had finished learning all my basic life skills again I had to decide what I was going to do with the rest of my days and it was a no brainier. Never too old to change careers they say. Along with my course I love to watch your tutorials. I believe it’s a good thing to see things from several opinions. One thing I have noticed is the warm soothing tone of your voice, and the funny little cockney ending to the odd sentence lol, a little Nancy from Oliver in there 😝 Please keep doing exactly what you do so very very well. Thank you and stay safe 🌈🌈💙
Is cameraman also the editor of these videos? Suzie's great of course, but the videos are edited so nicely (the music, the labels/words that pop up) that I look forward to seeing the editor's high-quality work too! I was actually amazed at how the label tracked the bottle at 31:40. Really cool stuff.
Yes, Suzie has mentioned that cameraman does all the video editing and production. In an interview that I read, she gave him all the credit for how nicely the videos are produced.
As soon as I think “I wonder how to do this specific manicure” I just look up Suzie bc I know she’s gonna come through and tell me exactly how to do it.
I just wanted to let you know, that I've looked up to you ever since I started on my journey as a nail tech and I want to tell you that you are a true inspiration to me that you can not only be a nail tech but you can also be a successful woman entrepreneur. You are my inspiration
I tried doing poly nails for the first time today and It was an epic fail. I was really overwhelmed and wanted to just quit completely watching all these videos. then I stumbled on this video... Suzie is so calming to listen to and has me so excited to try again tomorrow. her saying its okay to make mistakes made me feel way more comfortable. thank you Suzie (:
Hi Suzie! I use the soft pink for the french fade. It's not in the master kit but you can buy it. I use the soft white and the mic of cover and light pink 😍
Love love love your videos! When I lived in Phoenix I had the greatest nail tech ever. When we moved here I tried every salon in town and no one could come close to doing them the way I liked. Plus, they all were heavy handed with the e-file and I would get burned every time I went for a fill. So I started doing them myself and watching your videos have really helped me. Thank you do much!
I’ve just ordered my first set of polygel after treating myself to a full gel kit. I absolutely love the concept of the polygel, having qualified in powder back in “98” 🙈 I have to say Suzie, I have only just come across this video of yours and subscribed immediately. I love your energy, calmness, and fun way of not only educating but inviting us in to your beautiful treatment room to “do nails” together 🥰 I am looking forward to watching all your videos. Thank you so much for sharing your talents ❤️
18:11 I thought that the cork was a cookie ahahahah Great video as always Suzie! A year has passed since I stopped biting my nails ( a habit that I had for more than 10 years) and it's all thanks to nail art vids like yours that I finally got the will to stop ❤️
I no longer practice due to severe allergies I developed, but I'll always stay tuned into Suzie! She was always someone I turned into for product reviews and ideas. A far better instructor than many I had in school.
Soooo glad I found you! It's like we're all sitting there with you chatting and you're casually and conversationally showing us how to do this. You have the best way about you 💕
I've been watching these videos for so long that I judge my nail technicians 😂 by them. Actually sat there and argued for a short thick nail over long because I'm a nail biter and wasn't trying to risk being able to break it off.
Maybe mix some of the clear into the white to soften it on the nail where you're trying fade it, like leave the bold white on the end, nuke it then use the white/clear mix for the fade so it doesn't take as much pink to soften so you'll lessen the risk of filing it off
Hi I'm new to doing my own nails since the pandemic. My neighbour girl who worked at a dealership suggested removing keys from the rings with a staple remover. It works like a charm. I love your videos and have watched my tech for years. I'm going to do more gems and get in touch with being creative! Keep up the great videos! Tracey
So one thing that people were doing in a poly gel group that I am in is they would do the white and then do the cover pink like you did and then bring the sheer pink over the entire nail so very thin white very thin cover pink and then a sheer pink over everything too kind of blend it and mute that white a little bit
I just like doing my own nails, and haven't really had anyone teach me the correct way to do this sort of thing. I really appreciate having someone break down the process so simply. Thank you.
I love your videos! Thanks for giving so much info during the videos. I know it must feel irritating to repeat yourself but it's great for thosebjust catching on! You're awesome Suzie!
I came here to say that you are like the Bob Ross of nail tutorials but somebody beat me to it like 4 years ago.. lol. I'm new to this channel and I'm hooked. I love how fair you are to every product. 💛
I did this on my own nails as soon as I got the product. They turned out great but, need some tweeking. I've been waiting for someone professional to do a video on fading this product so that I could know the true do's and don'ts. I've had tons of compliments on them and people are loving them. I could see the issues though and thanks to your video, I can make them even better. You are a fantastic tech and teacher, I appreciate your video's so much. I've been out of the industry a few years and I've been watching your video's for hours a day, over and over and learning so much. Thanks for caring about the industry and teaching us the RIGHT way as well as some tricks of the trade and the new things!!!!!!!!!!!! lol I even go to sleep at night to your video's.
♥️♥️ so in love with your techniques! It took me forever to see where the grow out was, the transition was flawless! Im 4hrs away, Canada here i come 😉
I just wanna say thank you!!! 💛 I was gifted a set for Valentines and my first attempt was atrocious. Hearing your advice on it made me much more confident. Had acrylics for years and took a nice long break to fix damage. Tried a million times to learn acrylic at home. This seems so much more attainable. 😅 I actually look forward to trying to repair my mess.
You're such a great educator. Knowledgeable and supportive and i love how you give context to what you're doing, why and what not to do. Thank you for sharing your knowledge freely with the world. Again, i love your voice. Calm yet interesting and engaging
Thanks for doing a follow up on Polygel. I have been trying it on some of my clients. I am finding there is a heat spike which Gelish say it should not do. Also my tube split open at the top from having to squeeze so hard, and i was told to fit the plastic clip to the tube from its first use, not just for when you get to the end. Do you know if you can do a fill if the client has acrylic or hard gel on? I have only used Polygel on new nails. Keep up the good work. Fab tutorial on infills and rebalancing. Kim x
I've been watching a lot of your videos lately after starting to play around with gel polishes and polygel. I remember you saying how you didn't like using dual forms and after trying it out myself, I finally understand why. Building the nail without it is intimidating but it's so worth it and I thank you for being such an inspiration.
I am having the worst time with Polygel when I use it for extensions! I know it is softer than acrylic, but they have popped off on every client that have worn them as a sculpted extensions. My clients that are wearing it as an overlay, aren't having that issue..I do correct prep, dehydration, and priming and nothing is helping. I've also saw several other techs are having the same problem. Any tips??
Because of the fact the polygel won't cure before using the led lamp, would this product be better to practice my technique on at first as apposed to dip acrylic? I'm a cosmetology student and I'm having some trouble sculpting the acrylics before it cures. Also side question is the acrylic supposed to be so soft or is that a sign that my ratio is off?
Noah Smith its much easier to do gels rather than acrylics , and if youre using the professional acrylic , then yeah ur liquid ratio may be off but if your using cheap shit then its probably the acrylics fault lol
I'm using the supplies that we get in our kit. It's CND brand. Is that good? If it's not, I wouldn't be opposed to some recommendations for better stuff
Noah Smith CND is a really good brand so I don't think that's the issue. Granted, that depends in what stage you are in the process of using the acrylic when it is a polymer and commencing the "curing process". Also, we're you in a cold air conditioned room while using your acrylic? Acrylic tends to cure slower in lower temperatures, but faster in warmer ones. Make sure the room at least is 73°F (22.8°C) and ventilated well.
I never write comments but I feel compelled to let you know how much I love and appreciate you and your camera husband. The way you speak, the energy you project, your patience, your ability to explain, and the amount of skill that you share(for free) is life changing. You have taught so much. Nail Career Education Thank you so much! And I would love to see like a pretty fall look for the nails. ❤️ I hope to meet you one day! I'm in Rochester, NY and again, I'm so inspired and love your videos!
She kept my attention the whole time. Her voice was so soothing and each step was explained in a way I could understand clearly. 😌
The results turned out stunning and so was the teaching!
Me too.. I love nails but all these techs are so shitty.. I learnt how to do it myself and do my nails myself thanks to Suzie 😍😍
I couldn't agree more!.. Suzie made me realize I can do it myself and have been doing so.. First fill polygel today! Fyi: polygel will not soak off.
Nicole Nyaga knowledge is power.. once ur know, you will become so picky..
Now I Love would I do, I get paid to do it & my clients still can’t believe u can have pretty nails w/o ruining your own☺️🥰
Pam Elber does it hurt ?
I love your calm confidence and guidance
I've never had acrylic nails or ever had my nails done by a professional, but this is so interesting and calming. Thanks Jenna for letting me know about this channel. hahaha
I KNOW RIGHT
I loved this video and the French fade. I thought it looked really nice. And you're voice is so pleasant to listen to.
TIP: I use this and here's what I've changed.
The BRUSH! I use an acrylic brush and it holds more slip, easier to manipulate the product. Also wet the Slicer in slip and the bead comes off beautifully. Just what I have changed and its easier to use, faster, smoother, less filing and no mess with laying down the bead it comes off the Slicer without problems.
cathy perrault can you use this gel with tips? I’d rather have a nail tech add than to form my shape.
@@ontheboulevard I use tips with mine. It works well, but they are hard to use if you want to do a dual form.
@@2LRanch227 Why would you use a dual form if you're using tips anyway? The dual form is to form the nail. If you're using tips then you form the nail onto the tips. There's no reason to use a dual form on a tip.
Thanks for the tip!
You put so much effort into making each nail look good. it's amazing.
I second this! I have carpal tunnel & holding fingers hurts lol
I'll stop any video I'm currently watching or whatever I'm doing when I get a notification from you to watch your videos instead! ♥️☺️
+Nicolette Levandoski awwwww so sweet - thank you Nicolette
Nicolette Levandoski Totally the same way. I just love listening to her soothing voice and she is so amazing at explaining and teaching. If I was ever to have wanted a career in nails. Suzie is who I would have wanted to learn from. Love to you Suzie 💖💗
Nicolette Levandoski same
Even when you're watching her older video???
Nicolette Levandoski I agree she's the best her spunk how she explains it and all I love this women...suzziie I love 😚😚😚😙😙😙😙 you sooooo sooo much you teach sooo very well I've learned from you....
One thing I have noticed is the warm soothing tone of your voice, and the funny little cockney ending to the odd sentence lol, a little Nancy from Oliver in there 😝
Please keep doing exactly what you do so very very well. Thank you and stay safe 🌈🌈💙
Wow! You’re amazing! Thank you Chrissie for sharing your story. Very inspiring, we are never too old. 🏡💜
Camera man is her husband so the videos are made with love, the quality shows.
her voice makes me feel really safe and cared for~!!!!!
Much love Mam 💕🌻🌻💕
As soon as I think “I wonder how to do this specific manicure” I just look up Suzie bc I know she’s gonna come through and tell me exactly how to do it.
A baby boomer? 😲 There are hundreds of videos on that here on UA-cam
@@wioi I think she was speaking generally, not specifically about baby boomer.
I just wanted to let you know, that I've looked up to you ever since I started on my journey as a nail tech and I want to tell you that you are a true inspiration to me that you can not only be a nail tech but you can also be a successful woman entrepreneur. You are my inspiration
❤️
I LOVE your nail tutorials, you make me feel like I could be as good as you are some day. Thank you
I tried doing poly nails for the first time today and It was an epic fail. I was really overwhelmed and wanted to just quit completely watching all these videos. then I stumbled on this video... Suzie is so calming to listen to and has me so excited to try again tomorrow. her saying its okay to make mistakes made me feel way more comfortable. thank you
Suzie (:
Why do I get so excited when I see that Suzie has uploaded?❤
michaejackson4ever Same xD
+Wolf Lykaios ahhhh you guys are too sweet💜
michaejackson4ever I am the same way. I love when new Suzie videos arrive. Love you Suzie 💖💟💝
Same here! I stop watching what I have and go to Suzie's vids. 😍😍😍😍
Kevin G I love seeing the huge diversity in people who watch Suzie's videos! Makes me so happy!
18:11 I thought that the cork was a cookie ahahahah
Great video as always Suzie! A year has passed since I stopped biting my nails ( a habit that I had for more than 10 years) and it's all thanks to nail art vids like yours that I finally got the will to stop ❤️
Caterina Stella I thought it was a biscuit to 😂😂😂xx
I no longer practice due to severe allergies I developed, but I'll always stay tuned into Suzie! She was always someone I turned into for product reviews and ideas. A far better instructor than many I had in school.
Can't have nails like that when you play the violin..lol Your videos relax me so much..you are very talented.
TaD D same with percussion :) the nails would dig into the hands of the wearer!
Same with guitar!! I wish so much that I could have nails like these but I can’t! 😭
Me too!!! My nails always have to be quiet short because of the violin.. what a pity:/
I seriously love how the music changes with the different steps. Just something I noticed and I love it lol 🥰
Suzie is the queen of nails and unintentional ASMR. I always feel very relaxed and a bit sleepy (in a very good way!) when I watch these videos. 💜
Thank you! Finally a tutorial video that goes straight to teaching and the talking is related to the video.
Maybe mix some of the clear into the white to soften it on the nail where you're trying fade it, like leave the bold white on the end, nuke it then use the white/clear mix for the fade so it doesn't take as much pink to soften so you'll lessen the risk of filing it off
Hi
I'm new to doing my own nails since the pandemic. My neighbour girl who worked at a dealership suggested removing keys from the rings with a staple remover. It works like a charm.
I love your videos and have watched my tech for years. I'm going to do more gems and get in touch with being creative!
Keep up the great videos!
Tracey
Fabulous tip
Suzie is magic.
I am so glad to hear my video's are helping you - with your nails.. and sleep😘
Yay thank u I was waiting for this, I haven't filled my nails since the first polygel video you did! Thank u!! ❤️ love the videos !!!
voice is so soothing she would make an awesome teacher beautifully done Ms Suzie
♥️♥️ so in love with your techniques! It took me forever to see where the grow out was, the transition was flawless! Im 4hrs away, Canada here i come 😉
She just made my day her voice is very calming and sweet just like her personality
Growing out your artificial nails is actually a really great experiment to figure out how quickly your nails grow!
I don't know what I'd do without Suzie in my life
Those brushes are really cool how they have the double end on them
Do you know what the brush is?
Amy Leonard-frazier nnn
It's the polygel tool
Amy Frazier it’s part of the kit.
Mix the white and the pink together then put it in the middle of the two
ty, I'll give it a go.
Why is this just the best vibe. I'm so relaxed and inspired and educated. Thanks so much!
33 minutes long, thank you.
+Amirah Morreale and we were worried it was too long
Nail Career Education never to long!!
Omg I thought I was tripping when I got excited to see that it was that long 😂
Those the first video I have seen of yours, you are seriously the bob Ross of nails! So peaceful to listen too!
"My structure is pretty on point" my new catchphrase
+Physics Only hahaha😀
Nail Career Education 🤗
#TakeMyMoney Let me know when the merch bearing that PERFECT phrase are for sale!!!
Kim x
Hi Kim, did you ever figure out if you could fill in on reg acrylic/gel nails?
Thanks
I’m also wondering if it’s possible to fill over acrylic
I don't see why not. Anastasia from Nailcue does it all the time.
I've been watching a lot of your videos lately after starting to play around with gel polishes and polygel. I remember you saying how you didn't like using dual forms and after trying it out myself, I finally understand why. Building the nail without it is intimidating but it's so worth it and I thank you for being such an inspiration.
Yes! 👍🏼
please do more poly gel videos >~<
I love the music in your video. Soothing like your voice and not distracting. 🤗
Any tips??
Polished By Amy same
Polygel and hybrids should be used with base coat. And cured for 60 seconds. I primarily use polygel so this old video is strange to watch 😅
Finally! A nail tutorial I don't have to put on silent 🙏🏻
"How old am I?" I'm wondering the same thing too Suzie #mybad haha
If everyone taught like Suzie, school would be amazing
Noah Smith
CND is a really good brand so I don't think that's the issue.
Noah Smith I would think it's great for practice.
I never write comments but I feel compelled to let you know how much I love and appreciate you and your camera husband. The way you speak, the energy you project, your patience, your ability to explain, and the amount of skill that you share(for free) is life changing. You have taught so much. I work with concrete and over the years my nails have been destroyed( worse than grants😬) and now I have hands I can be proud of. I even do my friends and neighbors nails😂 Thank you for being so damn talented!!
Does anybody find themselves shouting 'SUSIE, GIRL! all the time now.
Almaas Bokhari I find myself saying it every video now! Haha!
Suzie you are great at what you do! I wish I could sit at your feet and learn nails! Keep going Suzie!!!
