- Review of the downloadable town for The Sims 3: Lunar Lakes. What all does this new neighborhood include? Is it worth the cash? How many sim-aliens does it take to screw in a lightbulb?

This looks like it would go really well with the Into the Future pack.
But the "town" of "your future" you visit would be out of place, because it's not only always the same, it's also back on earth or the sim version.
Idc if its been 6 years since u said this, ive gotta try it
This comment is 9 years old but you know what I might try this for a new play through
It does if you build houses with the future furniture
My goodness after checking online it's still freaking 25 bucks...seriously, the sims 4 has been out for approaching three years, and this has been out for five...but nope, still 25 bucks, I guess they can try and justify that, saying "It's "premium" content" but after this long?...premium is only premium for so long.
Keith Alback Crack.
"Give us your money, fools! All of it! Bwahahahahaaaa!" - EA Executives
even heavily discounted with everything five bucks during a steam sale (like i did),
on steam if you were to buy the game with all expansions and stuff packs like i did.
it still runs you about $100.
yeah. i dont think anyone would feel bad at pirating the sims 3 store.
@@supersmashbro596 Been thinking of getting it on Steam, can you buy towns there?
@@Zero60133 you have to buy the towns through eas origin service, unfortunately.
I'm assuming Lunar Lakes will be good if you fill it with a bunch of aliens lol.
Agreed.
LOL; Six years late with this - wow! I'd started doing something like that. I was populating it with some of the more unusual sims from expansions and whatnot ... Elves from Dragon Valley, those forest sprites (or whatever they are) from Hidden Springs, genies, fairies, mermaids, plant sims, sim bots ... you get the gist, right? I got some of them knocked up by visiting aliens and over time as their populations grew and I started whittling the humans down, it was beginning to look pretty gosh darn good. Then a massive crash hit my computer and the game file got so corrupted, it was unplayable. So much for that! I keep meaning to start another one, but still haven't got 'round to it. It did look damn good though; it was the most unique town I had in my game.
In The Sims 4 EA sell this kind of thing and name it an "expansion"
For 15 extra bucks!
@@marinaschulz3183 mhm 🤦🏾♀️
@@marinaschulz3183 ah yes, because the sims 3 was so generous. let's not compare shit to shit lmao
@@yeehaw8892shit to shittiest shit*
@@yeehaw8892 If you think its comparable, that's pretty sad.
So, it's been 5 ish years since this has been released, and based on what we have now I regret every complaint I ever had about the Sims 3. We had so much freedom and randomness, and we took it for granted. Now it's stuff pack after stuff pack and nowhere near as many interactions.
Actually, this world is 7 years old now, but regardless, you're right.
Link2242 I’ll defend sims 4 not having no open world with the whole deal with lots actually being filled and what not and you have a good amount of sims in the area while in sims 3 for the most part you’ll go to a public area and get like 3 other sims and around you and the whole world the sidewalks are just so empty.
Rhsims My sim would be at a club for a whole day and not many people would come. Idk if its a thing where I should’ve put more sims in my town or what
Rhsims Perhaps thats it. If I ever feel like doing it Ill reinstall sims 3 just a big pain in the ass to install all the eps and sps then the store content
The problem with The Sims 3 is the amount of glitches that noticeably harm the experience, that even with mods it's barely in a playable state. Everything else is good.
Lunar Lake comes with an Easter egg from The Sims 2. The controversy with Bella Goth's disappearance.
Tell me more, short man.
Tell us!
@@meeerrrrrsss a dead Bella Goth is buried in the town! You can see her ghost floating around. But she looks pretty damn warped 🤷🏼♀️
@@youhaveagodcomplex5590 She looked pretty damn warped when she was alive, to be honest. :-D
@@youhaveagodcomplex5590 Yeah, that's the best part of this town for me. The fact that we actually know what happened to Bella now.
Lgr: " The final year of humanity's existence, 2012"

Omg...
Ah yes, 2012.... back when we thought the Mayans were right and the world would end lol
2022: HONEY THE WW3 IS COMING
"this final year of humanity's existence, 2012."
Yeah you're about 8 years too early my dude.
@@camiiv2957 earth of TS3 is known the terran
Hm I didnt know about this expansion till now.
He's referencing the '2012' movie and the notion that the world was gonna end in 2012
You're an idiot
Lunar Lakes is alright, but from my post-S3 POV, where I have all the expansions and tend to play the game with all of them turned on, it's a small town. You know what isn't? There's a CC town name Belatrix that was made with an alien world aesthetic and uses LL items like the rabbitholes and the plants, but with plenty of space for the various lots from other packs.
On the other hand, I am very fond of the Tree of Prosperity, and if one wants to add the missing rabbitholes to Oasis Landing, the Warp Gates work well in the futuristic theme. I orginally borrowed one of the Belatrix lots which hand four or five warp gates on each of them, but one version of OL, I started laying them out on tiny lots scattered around.
this would be great with into the future
I wish it was put into it.
@CandyLoveHearts25 Indeed. If anything, I think the addition of some spacey-looking vehicles and a few more community lots could have made this exceptional and really added to the atmosphere.
Just relized...HOW ARE WILD HORSES AND STRAYS IN THIS TOWN? its in space! How does it work did they follow people on ships and crash landed there as well??????????????
Ye
If you have the pets expansion their usually in every town, there's more of them in appaloosa plains
jenesys smith Yeah i know i own the pack but come on couldn't make it more real when U don't have pets In SPACE?
+Heart Paw I am pretty sure you can disable the wild animals in the settings.
***** oh welp
I barely bust out laughing out loud but when you started quoting A Whole New World I freaking lost it!!!
I misread the title as "Lunar Cakes"... Welp.
"Mooon Cheeeeese..."
@LazyLonerLayla No problem, thanks so much for watching/sharing them!
there is a dead bella goth
ikr kinda weird hes been abducted and never came back
SHE'S
Derpy this is the reason why i’m really confused with the time continuation of the sims series, sims 3 happens before sims 1, but does oasis landing happen before or after sims 2??? And does Lunar Lakes take place before or after oasis landing??? So is the sims 3 a prequel to the sims 1 or is it a huggaround game of the series???
Ming Quan Chen Wu Different towns in TS3 have different timelines, so even though Bella is a child in one town, Lunar Lakes is years into to the future and happened after her Sims 2 disappearance.
@Amandah86 That's one big thing I'm hoping for with The Sims 4. Having the towns of SimNation be accessible without limitations would be fantastic.
yuh that didnt happen
@SeRgA123456789 That's how the game works with certain camera angles. It's part of what helps TS3 to run on slower machines, and does it even if the graphics are maxed out.
Holy crap, we're still alive!!
Amazing right XD
🤔🤔🤔
hi from 2021
@@guguy00 haha no kidding lol
I thought those warp things were kinda like subways.
you said it perfectly, the best packs are the ones you can always use, even after you get tired the specific mechanics or worlds. That's why Seasons is always one of the best packs and why seasons in general is one of those things that needs to be in the base game, it runs in the background and you will always use the features and items from that pack even if you're not specifically playing a Seasons-based gameplay. You can't do that with, say Island Living, Into the Future or the various University packs, for as many features those packs have, you have to look for those features and if you're not using them, might aswell not have them installed, because they're very specific to the experience of that pack and/or that world.
i always wait for prices to drop lol i went three years with out expansions T^T some crazy boring years i spent i love your videos !!!!!!!!
They never did. But you can spam the crap outta their ad system like I do to get free points!
"Long time ago.. In a galaxy right... here..." OMG I LOVE the way you deliver those lines XD
Your reviews are great and really helpful. Everytime im unsure about a new Sims game, your reviews always help me out
That was some detailed, entertaining games journalism. Very professional and personable. You have a good voice and mic as well. I'm impressed by the whole production!
This is still my favourite world out of all the worlds in the sims. I really hope they do something similar for the sims 4
i know you hear this all the time but i love your vids, you dont curse, you are very informative and you speak very well. thank you for spending time to do what you do for us :)
@BanjoGate I KNOW, HOLY BALLS. I really can't contain my excitement, I've been talking to everyone and tweeting about it all day.
And to answer your other comment, yes, there's an LGR Facebook page. It's in the video description!
h
Your reviews are so awesome and on point - thank you for saving us all from wasting our money.
if you have into the future you can replace the cars with the into the future cars so it would be futuristic
This would be a good world to mix with Into The Future.
One thing that's nice about the new rabbit holes - for people who like to retro-fit new buildings into old towns, they don't take up very much space and you can put multiple rabbit holes on a single lot. I took the "memories of sunset valley" park from lunar lakes, put it on a 64x64 lot and added all the rabbit holes to that lot. Now I can use it in any town and save the space from the other rabbit holes for real buildings.
4:24 Summary of every Sims 4 "expansion" pack. Ever.
😂
Last 2 expansions were honestly fantastic @noelle2k3
This city turns awesome if we combine it with Into The Future exp.
I really love your sense of humor when you talk about these games especially my favorite here The Sims 3, thank you ! I'm totally getting this world !
Man... I really like Lunar Lakes....
Hey,the trees from the Spore game. They have the same company.Wow!:D
Man I passed all my day watching your sims videos ... You got a new suscriber!
You're awesome!
Man I really like these reviews, thanks man!
I wish that EA didn't overprice their stuff so much! Back with sims2 there was the exchange, but now to get anything really unique you have to buy it for a stupid amount of money.
AH WHOOOLLLLEEE NEEEEWWWW WOOORRLLLDDD!
AAA DAAAZZLING PLAAACCCE I SEEETT ANEEEEW!
Omg I just burst out laughing xD
LOL. It's I never kneeeeeeeew. Thanks for the memories though, that is way to fitting for this lol.
Otaku Nerd Evonne77 Thanks!
and I would fix it, but I'm on mobile.
Love your Sims 3 videos, nice to get a sarcastic, cynical overview of the game as opposed to Curtis Paradis' over-energetic and camp voice overs. Keep up the good work!
@SeRgA123456789 Do you use the "free tab" camera for shots? Because that's when it comes into effect most obviously. Like I said, it's only with certain camera types at certain angles.
I have no idea how many times someone had said this, but you, my man, are possibly one of the awesomest person on UA-cam. In fact, you're so awesome, I had to make up a word to describe you; "Awesogamerific". There. You are now the most Awesogamerific guy on UA-cam.
Thank you for reviewing this. I'm a Trek and Firefly fan, so I've been looking at buying this. Wish it would go on 50% off!
I love lunar lakes ❤️❤️❤️❤️ it goes so well with into the future expansion
thank you for the reviews for the sims :3
cool thing about lunar lakes, if you have into the future you can have a hover car or hover board etc
You do the best reviews.
@CSIG1001 When I stop being interested in them, I'll stop reviewing them. Sorry if you don't like them, but I review what I want since this is kind of my channel :) Besides, I review old stuff the vast majority of the time, so complaining about a minority of content seems rather silly.
@Keychain696 I don't have any immediate plans to review Pirates & Nobles, no. I just have zero interest in paying money for something I have zero interest in.
@InsomniaAnime It makes me happy when the easter eggs in my videos are noticed :D
haha this brings back memories. let’s just say i never payed for a single sims 3 store world 😊
same
Games4theworld for life :)
same, until i payed for a really cheap repack that works (only 2 dollars for all EPs and SPs :D)
@@pleaseenterusernamehere Where did you bought that?
Awesome review as usual dude! Keep it up I love these!!
It works well with Into the future! (y)
I agree! :)
I enjoyed Lunar Lakes once I turned it into a survival type game using the rules from the Apocalypse Challenge. (No easy living for my stranded sims.) And now thanks to Seasons..I'm really going to enjoy some alien invasions to spice up my sims lives.
With the best sale I ever saw being 50% off, I never cared to even check how it looks. I ended up seeing this while looking other LGR's reviews XD
oh my god, those trees! the houses! frikkin amazing! the architect inside me is cheering! this is a dazzling place I never knew...
I had an ad anylisi project to do at school and I used the lunar lakes page on the sims store XD
@MsQuims I killed most of them before I got the chance to find out... that's usually how my gameplay goes, I'd rather play with my own sims. I mean, they're sims and they're not mine. If I don't have anything invested in them, I have no interest in them.
this + Into the future, makes a perfect game.
By the looks of it this town is located on Titan, one largest moon of Saturn. But I can't say that for sure.
You sound like a geography teacher at my school. Exactly like him.
great review as always. I look forward to your showtime review.
this review is ten year old thats older then my cousin
It's 2019 and the world is still here
Did you know that Bella Goth's Grave is in lunar lakes cemetery ? I don't think it's the "real" Bella Goth ( Like how most simmers say that Strangetown Bella isn't the real Bella.
lunar lakes looks like a town for the new expansion pack into the future
this town reminds me of strangetown from the sims 2
By the way, when you said that the normal car aspect of the world was dissapointing, I had an idea. If you want something rather futuristic or cool looking to go along with the angular look of everything, try downloading the Neon-looking car from the sims 3 website. I can't remember the name of the object off the top of my head, but feel free to check it out. :)
Great review!
This is should be free. I like it but too much
@xkristixx Maybe they're selfless, nice, and appreciative? Or, I dunno, just... nice? There are such creatures!
if all the towns were 10 dollars I would buy them all
i would totally use this with sims the future home town...you feel me?
I love this guy and his brutal honesty all his videos make me laugh. I check here before I buy any sims 3 anything thank you for the real deal .
With the release of seasons and Aliens, could be fun to try and breed out all the humans sims in the game for a town with only aliens.
Love the Aladdin reference. :)
Oh thank god I watched this review before I went and bought it, we can always count on you Phreakindee too be unbiased and give it to us straight. If I wanted to hear, Oh this is fabulous, blah blah blah I would go to the forums and watch the sheople squirm over the fruit of prosperity tree. "OMG there's totally a tree that changes colors it's amazing" (seriously rolling my eyes here) I didn't know you did a review for this world, I came here looking for showtime's review.
man u r great :) I love your reviews !
i watch your videos for fun now O_o you crack me up so much XD
I've seen those plants and building before! SPORE FTW!
Was totally on the fence about getting this, but when you described the houses as Frank Lloyd Wright's acid trip I was sold.
When you said "A whole new world" I started singing it and then realized that you were saying it and my face was like :O
I love your reviews, and I agree totally with you about the price, all of the worlds are like that. Funny thing is, if they dropped the price down to $10 a piece, they would sell more of them. But because of the price, I'm not likely to buy them until I see it on a CD and in a retail store where I can find Sims games for a buy one get one free sale.
I thought the "warp things" would be Subway Stations...
Peeking in from 2021: The landscape was gorgeous but the town was underwhelming.
Maybe they should've gone with Art Deco with this, like the buildings you see on South Beach and in Palm Springs. Those were inspired by space travel.
@FredIsMyName22 It's in my blood. Turns out the red stuff keeps me alive at all times, and that's pretty freakin' awesome.
Thanks for posting, and i see you got partnered! Congrats! I might be late on that boat, but oh well.
@sgtwok I see a lack of paying attention :) 02:25, for example.
I love Sims but sometimes I get so tried how EA just wants to get more and more money out of us.
Thanks for the review and a special thanks to kittana514 for gifting this to you. Which gave us all the chance to hear your review of Lunar Lakes.
i loved pirating this world
Thanks kitana514 for basically giving us another amazing review from LGR.
Me too! It used to be so easy. I've tried making some before, but making one that actually looks decent takes a lot of work. And, yeah, that blank lot thing is rather annoying. I can never get them in the right spot or close enough to a road so they're not just awkwardly out in the middle of nowhere. Or on a hill, like you said. The hills look nice, but holy crap, they're everywhere! Dx
Oh my gosh! Thank you so much for doing reviews on sim 3 towns! The work buildings do lack a little of imagenation. Isn't that what the sims is all about? Oh well. It's just a town they put out there to satisfy everyone until they put threre new stuff pack out for buying... I don't know what it will be. I don't even know if it's gonna be a stuff pack, I think there's a patern. Just review it and I'll be okay!
Is the The Sims Medievel: Pirates and Nobles worth getting?
@phreakindee i found you Cuz of maxis story Review and am still Subscribing and loving your videos they makes my day when there are a new video out :D
I bought lunar lakes and midnight hollow for about each 14 $ yesterday.
when i watch Reviews of the sims 3 i always landed on LGR
Love your videos!!
This actually has become one of my most played worlds after Sunset Valley and Bridgeport.
