  • We had a lovely trip to Osmotherley and stayed at Cote Ghyll campsite. We also had a walk to and around Cod Beck Reservoir and visited Northallerton and Mount Grace Priory English Heritage site.
We also had breakfast at Parklands Cafe & Coffee Shop near Northallerton, had fish and chips from Osmotherley fish and chip shop and finished off with tea in the Queen Catherine pub in Osmotherley.
A lovely weekend, great campsite, great walks, great food and adventures.

Thats a great fish and chip shop, but if its closed that pub next door does an awesome battered sausage and chips! You got a nice spot to pitch by the beck! Liking the road directions, thats pretty useful! Loved the picture in picture arrival, that was a clever way to introduce the spot! You captured some awesome reflections! Never been to Mount Grace Priory, thanks for the awesome share! ♥

No bears though I am afraid! 🤣 Just the odd mad red 🦊! Oh good to know about the pub- thank you! The fish n chip shop had almost sold out!

Looks a nice site, glad you all had a nice time and that Rocky is settling in to the van more as each trip passes. Love the views around the woods and reservoir, think it will be going on the list 😉.

@@rachelwalker202 our pouch has settled in more each time we go away into the van, that said from day 1 she was very happy to lay / sleep between the 2 front seats while we travel.

Campsite looks very nice. One for the list I think. 👍. Well landscaped and good facilities. A walk round the reservoir is just our sort of thing. Parking looks very limited in the village which is a shame. The reflections on the water were amazing. Well done 👏 That breakfast made me hungry 🤤. I can understand the Priory not wanting dogs indoors but why on Earth not outside. That must stop a lot of people visiting. The pub looked nice and food looked good. Thanks for sharing with us 🙏🚐👍🐶🐶🧙‍♂️

The walk into Osmotherley from the campsite isn’t too bad (especially if it’s not raining 😃) it takes about 10-15 mins depending on the speed you walk and with lighter nights not so bad if you want to go for a meal. Parking is a challenge even for cars in the centre of the village. We think it’s a lovely site and lots to do around and about. Handy as a stop over too as only 5 mins or so from the A19 if heading north or south that way. Pleased it was useful - thank you -all the best, David, Rachel & Roxy 🐾

Morning, I think it’s a great mid week out of school holiday site. The reservoir never fails to delight! Beautiful.
Parking is a nightmare but as David said it’s not far to walk in to the village (much easier going than coming back 🤣)

It’s a lovely area isn’t is - I remember going with my mum and dad to Sheep Wash when I was a young lad. I imagine the site has changed somewhat since the 90s as it has changed a fair bit in the last 10 years. All the best, David & Rachel 👍

We stopped at parklands last summer , there is road noise but we chose it as it was the closest to northallerton. The cafe as you say does an amazing brekky.
