Everything LUKE SKYWALKER Did After Taking GROGU [CANON] (Before His New Jedi Academy) - Mandalorian

- In a very heartbreaking, but also awesome moment, Grogu was handed over to Luke Skywalker by Mando so that he would be reunited with his kind, and to join Luke in the creation of his new Jedi Order. At this point in the timeline, Luke’s Jedi Order hasn’t been fully formed yet, so I’m going to break down how Luke Skywalker travelled the galaxy in search of Jedi artifacts and sacred temples, after rescuing Grogu to, begin the creation of his new Jedi academy.
So not long after the fall of Emperor Palpatine and his apprentice, and Darth Vader being brought back to the light, Luke set out to rebuild the Jedi Order of his father’s time and to protect the Galaxy from the rise of the dark side. At first, Luke had no idea how exactly to go about rebuilding the Jedi Order, and so decided to travel the Galaxy, visiting many worlds rich in the force, ancient Jedi temples, and sacred Jedi locations in hopes of finding any information he could about the fallen Order. At this point, he became the caretaker of the Jedi Order’s legacy, and decided that on top of searching for Jedi relics, he would also begin a search for force sensitive children around the Galaxy, Grogu of course being one of them.
To begin his journey, Luke teamed up with an explorer named Lor San Tekka, who was a member of an organization called “The Church of the Force”. Lor San Tekka himself was not force sensitive, but because he was old enough to remember the Jedi of the Clone Wars era, he followed their beliefs and never believed Palpatine’s claim about the Jedi betraying the Republic and trying to assassinate him.
The first location Luke visited was the warm, peaceful planet of Gatalenta, in the core of the Galaxy. Here, he discovered a variety of past Jedi Knowledge and further clues on how to continue his search. After this, Luke even visited the ancient Sith world of Moraband, where he learned about the history of the Darkside and what it could do to a person.
After this, Luke visited many more planets rich in the force, eventually collecting a group of 8 books and scrolls, each written and bound by the Jedi Order. Inside these books, the philosophy of the Jedi order was written, along with instructions on how to follow the path of the Jedi, should there be no one left to teach the way of the Jedi. Obviously, these texts were incredibly important for Luke’s new Order and gave him a perfect foundation to begin constructing it again.
One of these books was named “The Rammaghon”, and was found by Luke inside of underground ruins on the very important Jedi world of Ossus. This text and contained four different, conflicting origin stories for the force, obviously confusing Luke, but giving him a great deal to meditate on and debate internally. This is one of the books that can be seen inside of the temple on Ach-To in The Last Jedi.
Mandalorian Season 2 Episode 9 Chapter 16
Another jedi text he discovered was called “The Aionomica”, and contained the earliest recordings of how the force worked and all of the force abilities that the ancient Jedi had discovered. It hasn’t been confirmed yet, but it wouldn’t surprise me if this book was written on Tython, during the time of the Je’Daii order. If you want to know more about the ancient Je’Daii Order, who came before modern Jedi order, make sure you look in the pinned comment below.
Following the discovery of these ancient texts, Luke then set his sights on discovering the site of the first Jedi temple. He discovered many hints to which temple it may be, but the precise one was a mystery. The top contenders were of course Ach-To, Tython and Jedha.
After discovering Ach-To and storing the Jedi texts there, Luke discovered a cache of Jedi training equipment, texts, knowledge and various holocrons about the Jedi’s history from the Republic era and before. This cache was actually created by Chief Librarian, Jocasta Nu, before her death at the hands of Darth Vader. Jocasta Nu created this archive of knowledge after surviving Order 66, and looked over it, hoping that a New Hope would emerge, and use the knowledge to create another order. Unfortunately, she was killed at the hands of Darth Vader when attempting to go back to the Jedi temple and retrieve a holocron with the list of force sensitive children in the galaxy on it, leaving the archive hidden and under the protection of her assistant, Gar, until Luke discovered it many years later.
After this, Luke continued his journey, discovering many lost Jedi and force relics, including a Crusader pendant, which was the same one Luke was wearing on Ach-To in the last Jedi. Because of it’s name, many believe that this pendant may have some connection to Darth Revan from the time of the Old Republic. he also discovered a Holocron belonging to the Jedi Avar Kriss, from the High Republic era, which will be covered in the upcoming books, comics and TV series, “The Acolyte” soon on disney+.

Grogu could have easily left Luke's academy before Ben was even brought in by Luke.
This is confusing since this happened after yoda died but also after darth vader died so I come to believe that this is a descendent of luke.
Luke really needs his own show, so many people would love it. Him creating his own version of the Jedi order, learning from both fallen Jedi and sith orders
And searching old temples from both groups to gather knowledge for his new temple and order (and for himself to learn). And then gathering students. Honestly a Luke series imo could be the best one out of all the announced ones even before they air, not to discredit them at all but Luke just has that something that makes him the best character on screen when he appears

IMO they SHOUKD wait a few years- until AFTER the Mando-Ahsoka-Fett-Rangers crossover event ends.
Here is why I think they should hold off until after the big event Movie/Series that would have been the driving force moving the plots of all those shows along until the big culmination that will wrap up the post ROTJ FiloniVerse which will end with the heroism and noble death/sacrifice of Din Djarin, the true end of the Empire with the defeat of Thrawn, Ahsoka & Ezra founding a new academy teaching an alternate view of the Force, teaching it to a New Jedi Order, Grogu in possession of the Dark Saber and becoming the greatest Mandalore to ever sit upon the throne, ushering in a new era for Mandalore and working side by side with Ezra and Ahsoka New Jedi Order.....and just in time as its revealed the Vong are coming.....

Ok....so although Sebastian Stan is clearly the fans number one choice to play a Luke in his 30s-40's, we have JUST been reminded that Mark Hamill is and will always BE Luke Skywalker in our hearts. It's obvious how much we all love Luke...just look at the feedback for his appearance in the s2 finale.
We need some time to seperate Luke from Mark Hamill.
We've got to let the CHARACTER age just enough so that the role can become Stans, if that is who Lucasfilm decides to go with....and I believe the will.
Fan casting led to Rosario as Ahsoka so why not Sebastian for Luke?
Not only does Stan strongly resemble an older Luke Right Now, but Stan is a very accomplished actor that I'm sure could not only duplicate the nuances of Luke Skywalker- his mannerisms, the way he walks, fights, runs, just how he Moves, how he Speaks, his facial wxpressions- Stan could mimic all that and we would buy it quite easily...but Stan is a strong enough actor to put his OWN MARK on the character and give us a JEDI MASTER LUKE we have wanted for almost 40 years. Not some homeless amd depressed tratorwho decides to give up on restoring freedom to the Galaxy, decided his legacy and inherited responsibility and obligation to Kenobi, Yoda, his father, and sister just dont have a place is his life he dont even want to live anymore since he had a momentary brain fart and decided to murder his nephew while he was sleeping, and wants to spend his days sucking manatee tits until he just....dies.

Not only this, but Lucasfilm is setting the bar REALLY FUCKING HIGH with the FiloniVerse. After the culmination and crossover event for these shows comes and goes, Lucasfilm has GOT to keep momentum going and I'm sure they know hey have to follow it up with something HUGE.
The Legend of Luke Skywalker sounds like their best bet at doing that.
Its definately a sure hit....and IMO we all could bet the farm that its happening.

We need a Luke series. There’s so much to cover , Grogu , Ezra , Kanen and Ashoka all still out there , maybe he will meet them all and maybe Ezra and Kanen have started their own Jedi school and maybe he trained Grogu and let him leave to also create his own school this way they would be able to have multiple schools across the galaxy so there could be lots more Jedi out there after ROS for the story to continue and Rey to meet

yeah last assumption could be true as Grogu is 50 years old - (19 years of empire's rule + 9 years from Battle of Yavin till the mandalorian) i.e 50 - 28 = 22 years of Jedi training, thats a lot
Yeah I imagine he only needs a bit of a refresher as he has been hiding his powers from everyone until Din which made him unable to properly use the force. It seems as though he just uses the raw power within himself as if he forgot how to channel the force.

I wonder if Ahsoka and Luke ever met and exchanged details about Anakin / Vader. I've seen a very moving fan comic where Luke informs her that Vader renounced his Sith persona to save him and became Anakin again before he died, leading to Ahsoka breaking down in tears. I can actually see this happening for real.

Some interesting stuff here.. Enjoyed the video thanks :) As some have pointed out Grogu has seen and done things noone else in this present timeline has.... The information Luke could have gained from him would have been immeasurable. Eg Jedi temple on Corusant etc. We already know Ahsoka as she has appeared in The Mandalorian.... it could be possible that Grogu has gone with her after Luke trained him initially to control his emotions...... Do we know if Ahsoka and Luke ever worked together / met once the academy was setup or any other time? I cannot recall that happening. Ahsoka also has a wealth of knowledge and skills. I guess we will find out more maybe when Ahsoka series starts...

Luke also found this strange leather bound book written in a strange brownish red ink. It contained forbidden knowledge on amassing power and summoning powerful entities, he found it on mon cala hidden in a statue of a squid headed ancient god of the Quaren made from a single monolithic slab of oily black stone that seemed to absorb all light
Star Wars is all about keeping promises. The promise that Luke gave to Mando was that he would protect Grogu but he would not be safe until he masters his abilities. Really cliche thing that happens in Star Wars(it's what makes it so great) is that everything comes back full circle even if the events prove otherwise.
Some people are saying that Grogru is returned home, but that would be against his promise. He'll probably train him and help him master his abilities.

I think Grogu can be Luke's student right away, but it's going to be a very very long time before he can go on missions on his own. I'd say that Grogu is prob less than 2 years old for his species, and based on Yoda's age at death and the fact that we know Grogu is 50 during Mando, I'd say every 20 years in human time is roughly about 6 months for Yoda's species. So it's going to be awhile before he is big/old enough to take care of himself by that math. But they will have to come up with a reason that Grogu is gone at the time when Ben Solo destroys the Jedi temple because based on Favreau's latest comments it sounds like Grogu is going to be really important to the future of star wars and I don't see him getting killed at that time. That said, I have no clue what they are going to do, although the possibilities are endless!! I really hope they give Luke his own show, animated or live action, either is cool with me, but live action would be so awesome if they could make that work. I just don't think the CGI face is going to work beyond showing him in a very limited way like they did in the Mando finale, unless the technology comes a lot further! But I would be perfectly cool with Sebastian Stan or someone who looks like Luke if they could make it work. Eitherway, I feel like this time period of his life could be so sick to watch and I really hope they do it!!
I went Luke to take Grogu to Degobah so bad! Contact Yoda's force ghost and get some insight in their species. Luke doesn't form the New Jedi Temple for seven years after this finale still so I don't think Grogu will go there with him. Just a feeling.

I'm in the camp of Ahsoka being alive (thanks to Ezra) is the lynchpin to a separate timeline, further moved along by Grogu reaching out on Tython and summoning Luke. Thereby making the events of the currently existing sequels a different timeline and "possible " outcome. This then leaves open a fully different story arc for Luke.
We can then get a young Luke series ala Sebastian Stan circa The Mandalorian time period an beyond. And we could get older Grand Master Luke i.e. Mark Hamil movies and possibly more.

It's a shame how Disney changed Luke's badass history after ROTJ in Legends into a shameful disaster in order to reestablish the Status Quo from the original trilogy.

@@natecorwin4382 First of all, the fact that Lucas didn't consider it canon doesn't make it less good or bad (I am sure he still approved Luke's Academy in Legends). Second, as long we are informed, the only thing Luke did in Canon was travelling and creating a little Academy that ended with its destruction and all his students dead. As long they don't create something new for him, my discomfort is totally understandable.

Disney didn’t change anything they only added George Lucas never considered EU canon . That doesn’t reman EU is bad but he NEVER had any plans to make it canon. The reason he even sold lucasfilms was because he didn’t want to make any films and didn’t want to deal with the backlash

Thank you, glad you enjoy :) The one book that they've released from this "Luke searching the galaxy" period so far, is his personal Journal. It's called "Secrets of the Jedi" and basically compiles everything he knows about the Jedi/Lightsabers/Inquisitors/Old Republic/Clone Wars. They haven't released the other ones yet, but I'm pretty sure they're in the works!
It was Luke Skywalker who rebuilt the Jedi order in the novels and
comics I read for years, NOT Rey. I won't acknowledge that sequel
trilogy, and I absolutely refuse to give a dime or a Disney+ view to any
Disney/Lucasfilm product that has Rey replacing Luke in that Role.

Developmentally he'd still only be a child in another 6 years. The only possibility I can see for Grogu not being at the Temple and being killed with the rest of the students, would have to be due to his advanced force powers, he's ready to craft his own lightsaber, so he'd be off planet trying to find a Khyber crystal. But Favreau hinted at Grogu not being what he seems, so I'm hoping this isn't becoming some of the same crap we were fed in the sequels by people who havent been with the franchise long enough to appreciate its vision as created by George Lucas.
I'd disregard any content related to kk's fanfics, what with them not being Star Wars. That is all.

I honestly hope they don’t bring Grogu back. Love the little guy and all... But I don’t want to watch a show where the namesake (Din Djarin) is a tied down single father in literally every episode. It would get extremely exhausting to watch I think. But who knows, they did season 1 & 2 really well, maybe they can continue to pull it off. Guess I’ll just have to wait and see.
Pheraphs grogu already knew what he required or pheraphs the connection between mando and him was too strong that like might have feared he might turn dark hence he might have returned him to mando.

I don’t think that Grogu because he is so attached to Mando and that could lead him to the dark side. Jedi are not allowed to have attachments but Luke Skywalker might feel them and return Grogu to Mando.
Luke's Jedi order wasn't as dogmatic as the old Jedi order. He trained Ben Solo, who obviously had a very strong attachment to his mother, Leia. I know that didn't turn out to well in the end but it goes to show that Luke's view towards Jedi having attachments was much more lenient than that of the former Jedi. He also didn't train newborns like the old Jedi order did. He only trained those who has made the choice to join of their own free will.

I really think and hope episodes 7, 8, and 9 are removed from cannon and shamed as the mistakes they are
They can be kept due to ezra saving ahsoka in the world between worlds but as a timeline that ahsoka died and it would still be cannon but allow them to develop the timeline that she lived in.
So Grogu would have to be trained all the way to knight by a dozen jedi masters. Its safe to say Grogu had to hide leaving his training unfinished. Unless luke, qui gon, yoda, obi wan, and anakin find him and finish his training.

I have a good feeling the sequels after return of the jedi will be erased from canon and be rewriten or replaced bcos of grogu. And grogu will provide a better story line for sequels ! Given that darth Kennedy doesnt barge in and destroy everything, again.

I agree. Well, I think he can be his student right away, but it's going to be a very very long time before he's going on missions on his own. I'd say that Grogu is prob less than 2 years old for his species, and based on Yoda's age at death and the fact that we know Grogu is 50 during Mando, I'd say every 20 years in human time is about 6 months for Yoda's species. So it's going to be awhile before he is big/old enough to take care of himself by that math. But they will have to come up with a reason that Grogu is gone at the time when Ben Solo destroys the Jedi temple. Based on Favreau's latest comments it sounds like Grogu is going to be really important to the future of star wars but I have no clue what they are going to do, although the possibilities are endless!! I really hope they give Luke his own show, animated or live action, either is cool with me, but live action would be so awesome if they could make that work. I don't think the CGI face is going to work beyond showing him in a very limited way like they did in the Mando finale, unless the technology comes a lot further! Eitherway, I feel like this time period of his life could be so sick to watch!!

@@StarForceOne I don't disagree, but looking at what's happing, Disney might just ignore the sequels and rewrite most of it with their Disney+ shows.
This is not to say they will but seeing that we have both retcons of the sequels and references to books/comics only set in the last year of galactic civil war there is a possibility that they might.
