Hayden is a great actor, and un-stifled would have done wonderful. Most of the worst moments in the prequel trilogy can be traced to one man, George Lucas. In the original films, his micromanagement and unwillingness to compromise was essential because his vision required that he push the studios and Hollywood to give him what he wanted and not shave corners. The thing is, even there, while people loved them, the symptoms of micro-management of the actors and actresses did exist. It was MUCH worse in the prequels, with George Lucas not just micromanaging the acting, but actively over-riding experts, and directly altering good writing, and good improv with precisely what he "envisioned" which came off as awkward and stilted... There is so much good acting in deleted scenes and lost takes... Entire choreography scenes that were brilliant made by master choreographers because he had an idea are the reason for example that the Palpatine Fight scene is such a joke, that's 100% George Lucas being mentally addled. The I don't like sand lines? George Lucas... The countless weird acting moments where emotion seems a bit flat or over-reactive, lots of improv cut, and a ton of George Lucas making the actors and actresses redo the scene over and over and over until his "weird vision" of what looks emotionally correct was captured, even though to the rest of the world and the experts he had on set, including the actors and actresses themselves, it was clearly not right. This is very well documented. Functionally George Lucas in a very real way personally destroyed Hayden's career, and its a bit sad that he isn't condemned in this retrospective as its a well known fact in countless other retrospectives on the topic.
Hayden is one of the reasons why I still love Star Wars. He will always be the charismatic Anakin who embodied a man trying to protect those he loved. Nothing but absolute respect for the guy.

Hayden is a very good actor. He was only doing what he was told to do when he was playing Anakin . He is very good actor, love everything he played in.
People hate him solely for the fact that the man behind the armor of the badass villain they loved in the 80s wasn't who they expected. This is why I always say that Star Wars fans like what they think Star Wars should be and not what Star Wars actually is.
Hayden sold it for me in the prequels as anakin. He was a skilled swordsman, had very strong emotional facial expressions especially when he portrayed anger. Those were the highlights for me as anakin. It just worked for me. You know those actors who just have the natural bad ass feel to a hero like character? That was Hayden for me. I mean the way he fought with a lightsaber should give him a lot of credit, smooth, fast and a natural.
Hayden is a remarkable actor and never given the credibility that he's so richly deserves. He is a very special soul and a very humble human being. It is interesting to see such intense acting and professionalism to conceive and perform as Darth Vader and Anakin Skywalker, when his nature is so completely opposite. I love the prequels, I love the original sequels and I couldn't be happier for Hayden to finally get the recognition that he's so richly DESERVES. I wish him CONTINUED success, he is a stellar actor and a beautiful person.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
People are always so toxic towards the prequel actors, but most of them did an amazing job with what they were given. The real issue was the writing and the CG, not the actors or the larger plot, and the hate people like Christensen, Ahmed Best, and even James Lloyd have received is awful. I might be wrong, but I feel like Pedro Pascal didn't get that much hate after Mando S3, though maybe he was just a more established actor?
Hayden saved the Star Wars PT, there is a lot people don't realise how well he played his role, especially ROTS. He is a far better actor than anyone on the ST which is so poor that I no longer consider it part of Star Wars. Give me 1000 Hayden's over a Ridley any day of the week. This guy is gold.
Before I had seen the third part of the prequels I couldn’t even imagine, how the Anakin from Part two would change into Darth Vader I knew from the original trilogy. Hayden did a very very good job. The more often I see the movie, the more I see in his character. The traumas, the pain and hopelessness after years and years of war. He only laughed, when he was in his cockpit or with Padme. He was torn out by war and all the dark decisions he had to make as a Jedi Knight. Under such circumstances Hayden did a very good job to portray the change.
I remember how, as a kid, I could not understand why people disliked him. Admittedly at the time it was solely because ‘He’s Anakin! He’s Vader! He’s cool!’ A bit of a simplistic view of the matter, I admit. I wasn’t even in my teens at the time. But as I grew older I could understand why he wasn’t well received. I didn’t agree with them, but I could see where critics were coming from. Still, it made me sad to imagine that his career took a terrible blow. Back then I always imagined that actors like him were always successful even if the movie didn’t impress- arising from a bit of a rose tinted view of the movie industry among many other things at that stage in my life. So hearing that he as well as other actors who took some damage from Star Wars (Ahmed Best, etc) are getting a whole new chance and are being properly appreciated (albeit long overdue) feels quite heartwarming. It’s like they’ve finally reached the light at the end of a long, dark tunnel.

I always loved Hayden, Ewan, Natalie and all the prequel actors at the time they came out. As a cringe 14 year old emo kid, when episode 3 came out, his acting hit all the right beats for me. He did what he was directed to do and did it perfectly. Just here to give some love to the video and the actors and those who've been fans since childhood
honestly makes me sad haw the actors from the second trilogies got treated and took it too heart... the kid Anakin who did the pod racing, the guy who played JarJar, and Hayden. its all kind of tragic.
Most of it I believe was from diehards of the Original Trilogy that had 16 years (I think it was) between Empire Strikes Back & The Phantom Menace to continually build up their own ideas and expectations to impossible levels as to how Anakin should look and act before becoming Vader. Expectations that would be damn near impossible for anyone to stand up to, and when those weren't met they lost their minds. The way Jake Lloyd and Hayden Christensen were treated in Episode 1 with people saying that isn't how Vader should/would act was ridiculous. It's as if they expected child Anakin to be evil and murderous like Vader. Anyways, just my thoughts on the matter.
@@sodapop81 Yes definitely, and when there is so many people all with their own differing ideas of it, how does anyone create a character to match any of that with like you said "reading minds". If I could've hugged Hayden back in the day, as a kid, I would've. He and Jake Loyd was my favourites as a kid, more than Darth Vader, and made me, as a kid, feel included in Star Wars, especially as growing up
I was four when the og trilogy came out and i was instantly hooked and was a huge fan! I still can remember my dad and uncle taking me to see it! And we waited in for what seemed like an eternity waiting in line to see luke Skywalker at Detroit con that year! And when the prequels came out,, i was also instantly hooked and a fan! I even liked jar jar! And when cristian came out as anakin in aotc you could tell he was as special as ewan in their roles! The way they moved in the fight scenes were second to none! The prequels gave us the most brilliant scenes as well as the fights! I have never understood why people didn't think he was awesome as anakin! He was great then and he still has it in kenobe and ahsoka!
I really never understood the hate for the prequels back then. I’m genuinely sure it was mostly a step up by “film critics” - because I’ve never ran into a real person who doesn’t love the prequels. Peak Star Wars.
I never knew this, I believe he has a beautiful soul and that is exactly why he brought Anakin so perfectly to life, the turn from a sweet and loving person to a hateful destructive one. He is a great example of resilience. Wish him all the love and happiness in the world. May his life continue to be blessed by TMH! 🙏
It was only old 70's Star Wars boomers that were hating on Anakin because it wasn't the Star Wars they rememebered. So him and Jar Jar were the scapegoats. I love the prequels, honestly.
I would change the thumbnail. Idk, this makes it look like Hayden was addicted to drugs or something before returning to Star Wars and he wasn't obviously.
I never knew his ex was this mocking of him :( maybe she made things worse for hayden during the time ppl were dissing him.. I hope he finally gets the love and appreciation he deserves, go hayden!!💕 we love you 🫶🏻🫶🏻
Hayden never failed I remember watching episode 1 in the theaters. The critics at that time could not let go of their beloved trilogy and was trying to compare it to the new film. Now that we are adults of course he is getting his well deserved recognition. We loved those films at the time and they hold a special place in our hearts. I wish Hayden nothing but the best he may never do good in any film in the future but that's ok us prequel fans are his safety net he can never fall and hit the ground.❤️We got you Hayden for the rest of your life! 💕
He is literally so good as Anakin, that me, 41 years woman from central Europe who JUST watched (FOR 1st time!!!) Star Wars started to cheer on Darth Vader praying he will turn good. I swear. Thet both with Natalie were sooo good.
I’ve always loved the prequels. I was 6 when Episode 1 came out. Glad his life turned back around. I would love to meet him. Hopefully I can meet him at comic con one of these days.
Hayden was perfect in Star Wars. I was about 10 to 12 when episode 1 came out and I loved all three prequels. The hate came from boomers who really should be ignored.
Hayden deserves peace when he isn't working and ppl should respect his wishes whenever he nicely asks ppl don't film me THAT PERSON SHOULD STOP. THAT GOES FOR ANYONE NOT JUST FAMOUS PPL. I'm happy he is getting the love and attention finally that he deserves. Dudes talented and also just a man like us. Respect ppl for we are all just trying to get through life best we can.
I remember watching Star Wars episode 3 in the theatre. I was 10 years old one of my best childhood memories ever. I grew up with the prequels and I hold them dear to my heart, all of the actors and characters as well.
I feel bad that he had to go through such hardship over and over again for years after his work in Star Wars initially. As a kid and even as an adult, I’ve never really liked watching Anakin, but I’ve always been grateful for the role. Hating Christiansen did bringing the character to life and help fulfilling the story. There will always be critics of every thing and you can’t please everyone. I was amazed that he actually was willing to return due to all of the backlash that happened years ago, but I’m happy that he did that and I am also highly grateful. I practically grew up watching Star Wars and I only grew to value Hayden Christian‘s role ironically, even more so after the clone wars animated series, where it just felt weird hearing someone else play the role of Anakin initially. I truly hope the guy gets a lot more love and respect from his fans, and I hope he can be in more projects and movies that he can be proud of saying that he was a part of instead of being overwhelmed by negativity
I am a diehard Star Wars fan and I LOVED Hayden Christianson as Anakin Skywalker!! ❤ His fall into the abyss of The Sith was so emotional for me. I was so heartbroken for Anakin😢 and I thought Hayden portrayed this perfectly! I saw Hayden’s other movies as well and just love him and his acting ! One of the best !!❤ fan for life !

I grew up on the prequels. While at the same time loving and honoring the original trilogy. What happened to Hayden was unnecessary as he is an incredible actor. I am so glad he was thriving after the hate and that he is now reborn as an actor. I cannot wait to see what else he does.
I grew up with the prequels and I have to say he is the reason why I loved Star Wars. Episode 2 and 3 solidified anakin as my all time favorite character to this day
As a huge Star Wars fanatic, it makes me really sad how toxic the fanbase can be. Everyone has opinions, and it's completely fair to dislike the prequels or certain aspects of it, but it is not okay in any way shape or form to bully actors who are just trying their best and doing their jobs. It makes me really sad to see how awful people are towards actors (Ahmed Best for example) who were HIRED to play characters that weren't written very well. I personally wish Disney was putting more time into individual shows rather putting out a lot all at once, because we've seen how projects like the Mandalorian and Andor can be absolutely amazing when real time and thought are put into them. That doesn't mean that when the third season of the Mandalorian came out and I wasn't a fan that I went online and posted hate comments railing against random people making a living.
Despite the hate he received and some of the corny lines he was told to say; there’s always been something about his portrayal of anakin that resonates deeply with me to this day. It was in his expressions and the depths of torment he was able to bring to anakin’s character in revenge of the sith that hit hard. I can’t picture anyone else as anakin and his commitment to fight choreography raised the standard. Even when he was in Ashoka, the other battles were so so, but when he came into it, he lifted everyone else to his standard…
I'm old enough to have seen the original trio in the movie theater back in the 70s and 80's, and I walked out of Episode 3, wiping tears at the fall of Anakin, and also declaring that it was the BEST Star Wars movie, and that Anakin had surpassed Luke as my favorite character. That hasn't changed, and more than anything I want to see a series where he stars as Anakin somehow, not encased in Vader's armor, and hidden away from the screen.
Man I really hope we get to see him shine under the sunlight again. We love you Hayden you are our Anakin and no matter what Disney does to Star Wars they can never take what you gave us. I hope he conitnues to try, seems like a very genuine guy.
This has literally gone under my radar. In my opinion he was the only one that could have been Anakin, and I'm glad they chose him. It's like Arnold as T-800, Henry playing superman, RDJ as Ironman, etc. No one can ever replace their role to full extent.
was a little kid born in 2003 and never had hate for stories. just love.. now i can see how people disliked the movies with him because its not what they wanted to happen i guess.. that means is he really to blame?
Sounds to me that he rejected Hollywood and Hollywoods response was trying to break him down to get him to be who they want him to be because I haven’t seen so much hate towards an actor like this before and knowing now how Hollywood works, he didn’t sell his soul.
He never deserved hate.😢

He and Jake Loyd was my favourites as a kid, more than Darth Vader, and made me, as a kid, feel included in Star Wars, especially as growing up
Hayden in RoTS was phenomenal! Especially the fight between Anakin and Obi was probably the best in all SW!❤❤❤
That rude guy filming him almost made him turn back to the dark side
I really never understood the hate for the prequels back then. I’m genuinely sure it was mostly a step up by “film critics” - because I’ve never ran into a real person who doesn’t love the prequels. Peak Star Wars.
He deserve the entire world's love and respect...Hayden is an special treasure
He deserved so much better than he was treated, glad that people are recognising his work more.
Him and Ewan McGregor will always be an iconic duo for me. Two of my childhood heroes!
his performance in EP3 is so good he did never deserve any hate
Nothing good ever came easy and Hayden and his hard work goes to prove it. I wish him all the best.
I bet those tears in movies are real from how depressed I’d be
I heard the scenes where Anakin cries was real tears
Anakin Skywalker is my all time best character.
And Hayden Christensen is the guy playing him, so thank you Hayden.
It was only old 70's Star Wars boomers that were hating on Anakin because it wasn't the Star Wars they rememebered. So him and Jar Jar were the scapegoats. I love the prequels, honestly.
Now the 10-13 year olds have grew up the actor gets appreciated by those for whom the movies were intended for.
It's a shame he did get hate for his role.
In my opinion Hayden played Anakin very well.
This actor must be Anakin himself, absolutely no doubt.
my thoughts exactly
He’s a legend I grew up on that ❤
I would change the thumbnail. Idk, this makes it look like Hayden was addicted to drugs or something before returning to Star Wars and he wasn't obviously.
I thought the same exact thing! I said oh boy he's doing drugs
@@jonashr553 I don’t think so
Yeah Natalie portman smokes too and she had an amazing career after Star Wars
Give this man his flowers great actor thank you Hayden
how tf did they hate this man.. this dude was my childhood hero!! Always favourite in all star wars films..
It was the old people who didn't like him, what they really didn't like was what they thought the prequels should be, but young people loved him!
Same with Ahmed Best who played Jaja. This role almost ended his career and life...
Bro deserved more respect. I never had an issue with him in the Prequels, he did an amazing job
Glad Hayden is getting the love that he truly deserves. I wish the same for Jake Lloyd, that poor kid.
Hayden played young Anakin Perfectly. I'm glad he can now see how much fans appreciate his performance .. Great video ;D
I cannot see anyone else that would fit Anakin Skywalker as much Hayden did. Literally the perfect Anakin
Will NEVER understand the hate bro, people just be bored and start hating
I am a diehard Star Wars fan and I LOVED Hayden Christianson as Anakin Skywalker!! ❤ His fall into the abyss of The Sith was so emotional for me. I was so heartbroken for Anakin😢 and I thought Hayden portrayed this perfectly! I saw Hayden’s other movies as well and just love him and his acting ! One of the best !!❤ fan for life !
Sometimes people hate you because of jelousy. Yur value and importance is not standard, it depends on the place and people hu sees and knows you. Come here in the philippines, and we will make yu feel good and famous. We love you bro. Dark side is not always bad, but mysterious and enchanted....
He is a great actor and he really puts emotions into his lines even tho it’s not crazy realistic it still makes you feel the despair or rage
My fav Star Wars actor oat. Nobody can touch the performance he gave in Revenge Of The Sith.
Poor guy, he seems like an absolutely outstanding guy.
Did not deserve the way he was treated
I grew up on the prequels. While at the same time loving and honoring the original trilogy. What happened to Hayden was unnecessary as he is an incredible actor. I am so glad he was thriving after the hate and that he is now reborn as an actor. I cannot wait to see what else he does.
Hayden never deserved what he got. He completely understood who Anakin was. I'm just glad he came back
Very very happy for this great actor
Hayden Christensen rocks. Period. Thanks for making this video.
I feel like no one ever talks about the movie Takers, he was amazing in that as well
We love you Hayden! Stay humble
I grew up with the prequels and I have to say he is the reason why I loved Star Wars. Episode 2 and 3 solidified anakin as my all time favorite character to this day
this puts a smile on my face seeing one of my childhood heroes made another comeback i was like 7 when i watched the prequel trilogy
He was an extreimly good actor in Black Hawk Down which every body seams to forget
💥 Hayden 💥 Christensen 💥 has been and will always be a legend !! ❤
I grew up with the prequels and Anakin and he was a great actor and character of Anakin Skywalker and Star Wars wouldn't be a success without him
As a huge Star Wars fanatic, it makes me really sad how toxic the fanbase can be.
He absolutely nailed it in revenge of the sith
Despite the hate he received and some of the corny lines he was told to say; there’s always been something about his portrayal of anakin that resonates deeply with me to this day. It was in his expressions and the depths of torment he was able to bring to anakin’s character in revenge of the sith that hit hard. I can’t picture anyone else as anakin and his commitment to fight choreography raised the standard. Even when he was in Ashoka, the other battles were so so, but when he came into it, he lifted everyone else to his standard…
I feel so sorry for Hayden. The fans can be so cruel, just look at what happened to Jake Lloyd. I'm glad that he's in a better place now.
As I'm a little bit older I was never a fan of Anakin, but... good for him, he deserved a reborn.
I was a lil kid when the prequels came out but I slept on star wars for years. Im definitely into the universe now, sucha interesting and dope vibe
I always loved Haydens roll as Anakin. I named my son Hayden!! He's a real person.
was a little kid born in 2003 and never had hate for stories. just love.. now i can see how people disliked the movies with him because its not what they wanted to happen i guess.. that means is he really to blame?
Nerds are ruthless, dudes always been solid, so solid that he sole handily is the reason dark anakin is my favorite starwars character
He had done great. In my opinion, no one could have played this role better than him
hayden did really good i don't know why he was being critizized
I always liked Hayden, the internet was new at the time so I never knew he got so much hate.
Sounds to me that he rejected Hollywood and Hollywoods response was trying to break him down to get him to be who they want him to be because I haven’t seen so much hate towards an actor like this before and knowing now how Hollywood works, he didn’t sell his soul.
