Mods make offshore pumps take power becuase they add some form of power generation before you get to steam. The only reason vanilla doesnt make offshore take power is because you cant hand feed water, so without power you cant pump the first bits of water needed to generate your first power to then power the pumps.
Exactly. For fuel feed, we have coal-fired miners and inserters, but there's no coal-fired pump. It would be cool if we had those with high volume but low pressure -- so to supply 20 boilers you'd have to combine both. Even worse, fluids don't fit in inventory, so no manual handling or crafting.
I was thinking they could have made a manually operated pump to get your first bit of water, but it would be the only item in the game with that particular interaction
Thanks for playing K2! Really looking forward to this series. There is an interesting technical reason for the scaling up of recipes. Factorio has a game engine limitation where a crafting machine can only do one craft per tick at maximum. Believe it or not, it was possible to reach this limit in K2. The recipes were scaled up to fix this issue, allowing you to run the late game machines at full speed without running into that problem (most of the time).
9:31 Same exact reaction. Also if you wanna hit more shots, aim a bit past the biters instead. The bullets will not go further than your cursor, and by aiming at only the closest biter, it means that if you miss, that bullet wont hit the other biters behind the first. So aim a bit past the group of biters. 15:30 Inserters will prioritise the lane that is closer to them. Though burning coal in the boilers to make power, to then turn into trees is probably more polution efficient for the amount of work. Since coal multiplies a building's polution rate by 2,5 times! And greenhouses produce quite a bit more fuel value in wood, than what they consume in power. And they also absorb some polution as they work. Not sure if it actually is more polution efficient. In my head it seems like it should be, but I'd have to calculate it.
15:25;15:45 the only way as far as I know is to manually load them with coal before powering them to prevent them from using other types of fuel. Until they run out of course xD
Something worth considering is utilizing more loaders, not just for the stuff like ammo production, but for things like science and anything a belt directly ends to. Sure it widens the gap between labs but it saves on things down the road like resources for all the inserters and ups. Trust me, you will need it
Shotguns in Krastorio are much, much smoother feeling than in base factorio. If you still find yourself struggling with biters up close, give them a try!
I loved the discovery of the speed modules in the greenhouses meant it multiplied the pollution absorption, meaning blue mods are incredibly potent in them for producing more wood and reducing more pollution!
I just finished your green circuit project an I must say: I love u man! Your Videos are so entertaining! I hope this project will be as good as the last one
There's a mod called rate calculator where you just select your machines or furnaces etc. like you are copying them, and it gives you the rates per second, per minute, and more. It's pretty dope and seems useful trying to figure out new mods. I'm happy with your choice of Krastorio, can't wait for the Pyanodon playthrough :)
Inserters take from the near side of the belt first, so the wood is chosen for fuel first. interesting that you can make coke with a belt of wood only - had never considered that. I found that K2 didn't lend itself to a bus as there are too many components
As someone who has never played K2 i am very excited to watch this playthrough. I am currently doing a SE and am planning on doing K2 next and maybe Bobs/Angels after or if im feeling it pYanodons depending on how these other playthroughs go. and ill probably play vanilla inbetween just to go back to something similar. I hosted my SE save so my friend could join, they werent enthused about it and didnt really know what they were doing so they started their own vanilla (mostly, some QOL) and i join them on that and its been going much better. I forgot how fast vanilla can go when the game isnt stretched across like 28 different sciences with a bunch more content added to fill the gaps.
Just finished watching your series "1 Mio Green Circuits" and I love the way off editing and commenting, while showing interesting/important things in a regular fashion..... If you really have no idea, what your are doing and what can challenge you...... consider playing Pyadonon :D, would love to see this complex and challenging mod pack played until the end by you...
I don't know if you know this, but you can add new hotbars and even swap between active ones, which is very useful if you have a lot of blueprints/books, as you can place the blueprint in said hotbar without needing it in your inventory. I imagine you're gonna have a lot of different buildings for this playthrough so more hotbars is helpful for that
I really like your editing style, looking at this bus does feel like experiencing the joys of getting waterboarded right after being electrocuted with a car battery by Guantanamo bay's employee of the month though
I've been looking for a Krastorio 2 playthrough like this for ages! thank you for existing! also: if you want, you can set the shooting mechanics back to vanilla so you don't have to aim. the aiming just isn't fun in my opinion
all the "weird" things this mod has done to the game is just normal to me after being dumped into a world with this mod with friends the first time I played. I have no idea what the normal game is like
"I hope the later tech cards aren't extremely complicated" 😂 oh you pure innocent soul 😅 I wish I could play Krastorio again w/o knowing anything about it😇 still one of my favorite mods👍 oh and that ore/plates ratio is getting better later...way later😉
I do agree that the mod is in desperate need of balancing. Some thing just don't make any sense. I even caught some research 2 behind a research 3 level, which is annoying af.
"i have never played krastorio before so this will be a completely blind run" > proceeds to name everything that has recently changed and how that will change up the gameplay...
@@DocJade but you know the game from before when you can name every difference no? I don't understand how that can then be blind or 'never played before'... I must be missing something here
"goodbye Grass". oh boy, let's get strapped in
One simply does not touch grass whilst playing Factorio👌
Esspecially when you start in the desert.
@CoreReaper i think its that green stuff the ground is made of
I think it's spelled Landfill.
Grass? What belt does that go on?
Weed ?

Hamster wheel for powering the first pump. :D
One tip, you can overshoot while targeting biters, bullets will hit anything during their path, it's not hitting just the point you've shot at.
use this when sniping worms and nests. i target that and just go. anything that makes the mistake of getting between explodes
Your editing is great, and you bring a sort of energy not often seen in these kind of videos. This is great, I've subscribed.
the most epic crossover of our lifetimes

That's actually super interesting! I knew there had to be a good reason for it :)
K2 machines manufacturing things faster than an M249 can put rounds down range is kind of fun to think about
Ah, the "l'll use placeable trees to help with pollution" delusion we all went through :3

Just binge watched you green circuit run, finished yesterday. Perfect timing, you dropped a new one. Good stuff man, loving your vibe

So excited to see your in depth episodes on this!

Literally just finished my first play-through of Krastorio 2 yesterday, 49 hours total playtime. It's quite a commitment
That sounds surprisingly quick
Bro i still havent automated matter tech card and im on around 70ish hours
I like how factorio is one of the few games where you can say you played 50 hours and people will still call you a noob.

Quality work. I'm looking forward to more!

Just starting up a similar pack myself, and you are a wonderful listen while doing so.

Yussss new doc jade video. Heck yeah krastorio is great
The gears on the bus go round and round
the trick to using guns in krastorio is not to aim to the biter but to aim behind it

one thing that erks me every time with krastorio is how the basic smelting ratios are 2 belts of input gets 1 belt of output.
you are hugely underrated
Id love to see you use the create mod on Minecraft to reach certain Items per hour in MC
Watching some of your runs again :D
may the algorithm be with you
