I started getting them as I got into my 30's. I'd say that on average, I tend to get 1-2 per year although I've noticed that there's two types of sty's. The first is the type that I usually get. They're small, tend to rest on the bottom eyelid and go away within a couple of days. Whilst they are irritating for a day or two, they go away on their own. I've even managed to get rid of one within a couple of hours by sitting in a hot bath and bathing the eye nonstop. The second type of sty is much bigger and rests within the top eyelid. I've only had this type once but they don't go away on their own. They need to be operated on. They'll cut the inside of the eyelid and remove it that way.
I’m going to try this but I got prescribed Zylet and it’s been 4 days and it doesn’t seem to be doing a thing. I’ve been doing hot compresses with a tea bag about 3 times a day and the drops 4 times a day and NOTHING is working :/
what if your 10 turning 11 and u have it what do you do then? Also will a warm washcloth help? Like putting warm water on your washcloth then putting in on your stye
When I was in my early 20's I would get styes on my right eye lids. My Ophthalmologist would give me a handout with instructions to do warm compresses. The weird thing is that the warm compresses made the styes larger and worse. I would need to get a cortisone injection in the stye to get rid of it. These were happening weekly. Finally I went to a dermatologist (against my Ophthalmologist's advice) and he gave me some oral medication that resolved the recurring issue.
There are a few factors in treating hives at home. One plan I found that successfully combines these is the Avyan hives plan (google it if you're interested) it's the no.1 resource that I've seen. Check out all the amazing information .
I have one thats kinda big inside my lower lid, one medium sized and one really small one just on the surface where our lashes grow on the upper lid, so I techinally have 3 at the same time on 1 eye, is there any common causes of this condition? My eye did get swollen a week ago before it got better, but only now can I see the stye, Should I be panicking? Lol
hello! I live in a dorm room, So I can't really make That rice in a sock compress, So I use Eye gazes soaked in boiling water. (they have to be changed every few minutes.) but I had developed a small pink stye underneath my bottom eye lashes, And the nurses said that a stye can't be treated without a hot compress. it doesn't hurt that much, I just have a very itchy eye from it.
I got another Stye in my other eye. so the wellness staff here what's me to see an eye doctor to get some eye drops or the ointment because of how fast these are coming in/How quickly there popping up. they think I have an eye infection. but all this stress I put myself in from kitchen work doesn't help either. serving a campus full of students and teachers really screws the body up.
Blue Seashell I don't think he is but I'm pretty sure what he's instructing is correct because I saw a video before this and a doctor recommended doing this too
It's probably way to late for this to help you 1JAwesome, but you should either use a different sock, or at the very least, turn the sock around and use the back of the sock you used before. I would think a totally new, clean sock would be the safest thing to do. I hope yours is gone by now!
This is a good video for the compresses. However, I don't recommend patients' placing Tobradex drops on their finger and then touching the stye. This not only is ineffective, but it's difficult for the patient to know where to touch, given that the stye is usually inside the lid. I usually recommend Tobradex ointment (mainly for the dexamethasone) instead to reduce inflammation on the underside of the lid and improve comfort...it has longer contact time to do the job.
But I want the stye to be gone now, it's embarrassing if I have to go to school with this
DaisyMoon._정 I had the stye and I have to stay home cause everyone’s thinking I have pink eye 💀
@@flor220 for real is annoying. I work in customer service and I can't make eye contact with it lol

@@dwrollie9722 if it's big your dead if it's small your good
Thank you Dan. I unfortunately used hot rice instead of warm and now I have a swollen eye lid. I'll be careful and try again

Can you use the same rice? Or do you have to replace it every time?
If you ever got a stye my best advice is to wear a sunglass, it makes you appear cool at the same time it hides your sye...thanks me later!

I strongly recommend not pouring scalding hot water in your eye to kill the bacteria, does more harm than good really.

Nela Neca what is that? I think it’s what I have but I don’t know what the fuck to do
Saw a vid today, they applied apple cider vinegar to external eyelid, it was there for a year, after using ac vinegar it went away.
Is this suitable for a chalazion and blepharitis?

Thank you for the advice doctor. It works great for me after using warm compresses for 2 weeks. The stye on my eyelid is almost vanish.

when a warm compress seems to worsen the swelling of the stye, what would you suggest to try?
J Nomura probably a cold compress
Go into a cooler
I think I heard that it may swell up before it goes down.

what is the name of the drop? pleasr.
tobradex
Roberto Revello did the tobradex help? My doc gave me gentamicin sulfate solution, USP 0.3%. 5ml. Barely any help and it's been 4 days now.
What if you pop the stye???
John Lombardo it will get worse
You get reincarnated into a stye.
It is duable but only if it's really inflated and have someone who is willing to cut it and have proper antibiotic cream
