  • Castor Oil Packs have been around for centuries and continue to be used today by alternative practitioners like myself - a Registered Holistic Nutritionist. I’ve used a Castor Oil Pack on many occasions but most recently to regain my menses after having lost it for 3 months due to an extreme amount of stress. But this isn’t the only reason why you would find benefits in using one. It also detoxifies organs like the liver, reduces inflammation in the digestive tract and can help manage arthritic pain. Note that those who are pregnant, breastfeeding or menstruating SHOULD NOT use a Castor Oil Pack as it could have negative effects on the body. In this video, I demonstrate how easy it is to create a Castor Oil Pack at home. WATCH THIS NEXT: • Heal Hemorrhoids Natur...

      My recommendation is that you circulate the pack throughout your body. If there is truly no specific organ that you can isolate i.e. thyroid for Hashimoto Disease, then use it in various troubled areas of your body. In fact, you can purchase pack cloths in different sizes to fit different parts of your body. You can explore a good quality castor oil company that has various sizes and receive a 10% discount by clicking the link in my video description. Best of luck to you.

      Great question. There are a few reasons for this. It can cause diarrhea in the baby. Castor Oil Packs detox the body so you don’t want toxins to land in breast milk. Lastly - it could reduce breast milk but don’t believe enough studies are out there showing this. Even though you’re not ingesting the castor oil, the skin absorbs it and it does go through the body. Hope this helps.

    I suggest taking the castor oil as a laxative, every two years. Take four table spoons, and make sure you set aside 2 to 3 days at home to go to the loo. It is a very effective detoxifier as it works internally. Plus clears your elementary canal. This is done extensively in India and even parents do it evey three years for their kids. Please only have very light non spicy soup for meals during the three days, and only go out after the laxative effect of the castor oil is over.

      Hi! Flannel used to always be wool but nowadays it may be cotton mixed with silk or it can be wool mixed with other fibres. You would have to investigate the one you have on hand. Flannel is recommended because it absorbs well and transfers well to the skin but 100% cotton I've found to work well too provided you put a good amount of castor oil on it and keep adding oil to it as it begins to dry out. @@melcannourish Also from what I have read bamboo packs even though organic are a major no no as the process of making it into a nice soft flannel(cotton) like material uses harmful chemicals and therefore the oil will draw those chemicals into you. This is very annoying because most body and liver packs are now using the cheaper bamboo and some don't even tell you in the description. What I just ended up doing is ordering the cheapest bamboo liver pack I could find($10) and then I ordered real organic cotton towels. I will then put the oil on the cotton towels and use the bamboo pack to hold the towels in place against my body. Hopefully the oil won't seep through onto the bamboo at all. This is my plan anyway. I hope this has been helpful for people who have been in the same situation.
      P.S. Or you could buy the Queen of the Thrones liver pack, which is probably the best on the market, but I'm from Oz and it is way to expensive not to mention the added delivery cost as well when converted over to our pitiful Aussie dollar and you're meant to throw them out every couple of months as well. I am five-year recovery knee replacement. I have a stent and take blood pressure and blood thinner, etc.. I am a young GIR 81. Everything in a lower part of my body hurts. I do some stretching we walk most days unless appointments, I would say at least four days a week upward to 2 miles a day. I’m thinking how in the world my world did I ever not know this about castor oil why do people hide things like that but then of course we didn’t have iPads in the Internet. So after reading my stuff, am I good to go with this pack? I had a partial hysterectomy several years back, but I still have ovaries though they may be like tiny raisins. I do have a hormone patch 😂 to keep the flashes away.

      One is always supposed to warm it before use, preferably not in the microwave. Some people place it in a glass jar, and then they put that glass jar in a pot of simmering water to warm it. One usually adds a bit of Castor Oil as needed with each use.

      @melcannourish  3 місяці тому +1

      While it's true that toxins may be pulled out onto the flannel cloth during castor oil pack treatments, it's not necessary to change the flannel daily. The toxins absorbed by the cloth are generally small in quantity and won't cause harm if they remain on the cloth. A lot of detoxification is also done internally and excreted by the liver, feces, urine, etc. Of course, if the flannel becomes soiled or develops an unpleasant odor, it's best to replace it sooner. Hope this helps.

    it's a real deep learning curve, but two questions are popping up in my head as I watch and read the comments of these various videos:
    ? Is it safe to keep the castor oil pack on overnite, (or can you over do it, if the goal is simply to increase bile flow and production to lower the liver enzyme GGT
    ? Is it just as effective to let the Castor Oil soak into the skin than apply a heating source over regular 100% cloth (this way it's less messy)

    • @melcannourish
      @melcannourish  Рік тому +6

      Great questions!
      1. It is safe provided you aren’t using an electric heating pad.
      2. No - it is best to leave the flannel on you, with castor oil and heating pad, for the entire time. Doing it gradually ensures a constant penetration and the heat aids with this. You will not reap the same benefits otherwise or at least the full extent of benefits possible. I use plastic wrap or a bag between my castor-soaked flannel and heating pad to avoid messiness.
