@@Soccerkingsactown So would I. My washer literally, just came out of warranty, as of 2 months ago. 2 days ago, the washer stopped and my clothes are still inside
We have a LG wt7060cv and it wouldn't start, and after watching this video I left it unplugged for a while and also held the power and start buttons, and it started up! My wife thinks I'm a miracle worker, thank you!
Thank you very, very much!!! It was so simple. I called a repair service and he said I needed a new control panel. $200 Plus. It will be 9 days before he can get the part and replace it. He won't be back now. Such a simple video that saved one person $200. Imagine how much money you could have possibly saved your subscribers. I am a new subscriber. If I had of watched this first, it would have saved me $125 service call. Bt the way, I'm sure I would have need to pay another sevice charge, but maybe not. I only paid $800 +- for the machine. THANK YOU AGAIN Cyberskrimps!!!
Well I got a new control board and the same thing is happening. I don't think it's the control board, it might be the sound isolation unit it sounds like or the water inlet as previously posted. I'm still trying to figure it out without paying more
Thank you for posting this and to everyone who has helped by commenting on the nuances of their own fixes. Our WT7300cw is up and running again thanks to many people here :)
Thank you so very much! We have the WT7700HWA model for exactly 6 years to the date when it stopped working. We tried the 5 second reset as LG recommended, but it did not work. A quick unplug for a few seconds also did not work (as your video shows)... so we tried unplugging it for roughly 30 minutes, and that got it running again! So very grateful you posted this!
I don’t know if I was lucky or not but I followed the steps below and it worked! 1. Unplug the machine for 30 mins 2. After the 30 mins, plug it back in 3. Press and hold the power AND the play/pause button for at least 10 secs then release those buttons 4. Press the power button again and the machine should turn on Good luck!
Unbelievable! Early Sat. am. So much to do, and I thought I'd drop a load in forst thing - NO POWER! THANKG GOD for thos thread! 10 min unplugged, hard reset, MIRACLE! It came on!!!! 😭😍😳 Saving this video for sure! Thank you!
So, I had this problem. I removed the panel by following other videos. The pressure switch is a little spring that develops a memory over time. So, I stretched the spring a little and placed a folded square of aluminum foil on the back of the panel where the pressure button is located (square part not circle). It worked as it was supposed to. Over time the spring portion of the pressure switch compresses and when you push the panel button it does not depress the little spring enough. The folded aluminum foil takes up this extra gap and a light touch of the button activates the washer. There are videos on this too. I just can’t remember where I saw it. The key is when you have the panel apart, plug in the washer and slightly touch the spring. The washer should activate. If it doesn’t it is another issue.
Thank you so much for the tip! I have the same model, and I unplugged it for about half an hour, plugged it back in, and it powered on. I guess I'll have to just get used to unplugging it every time I'm done using it. Remember when appliances seemingly lasted forever? I miss that. Thanks again.
Thank you!! This video saved me a call to the technician -- hard reset (by holding the buttons for 5 sec) was not working on my LG WT7100CW washing machine, but unplugging it for an hour worked.
I just fixed a friends machine today. No reset worked. Made sure power was going into board. No issues with fuses. When back cover is off, red led is on. That says board has power. Thing about it is, if you take the panel apart, you will see the spring on the power button. On mine it was really 1/2 inch to the right. Might have been able to power it on just by pressing just to the right of the outside circle. So….. carefully take the panel apart by the plastic release clips. Might break one or two. Pull knob off front. Takes a good pull and wiggle. Now I am not recommending this so do at your own risk. Set the panel on a towel on top the washer. Connect all connectors. Plug in and carefully press power spring. That worked. I put some foil tape between spring and panel. I used 3 thin layers of tapes you may need more. Now it works and it works after putting back together. Hope this helps. Saved one more from the landfill.
Thank you, thank you!! This saved me hundreds of dollars. I replaced the control board once after LG's cold start instructions didn't work, and 6 months later the same thing started happening again, so I was ready to replace the washer with a different brand. I saw your post and it works. I have contacted LG about redesigning their control board...
We had the same problem for so long. Then finally we done a tub clean and we never had a issue again. Now we press tub clean once a month and our washer works perfectly everytime.
@@SuperJason488 if you unscrew the water line there also is a filter screen inside you can clean. If it's dirty it will make it not come on also. So just rinse it off and put it back in.
@@scott23791 unscrew the water lines there are screens inside there you have to clean. If they get dirty it starts acting crazy not wanting to power on.
I see you posted this 2 years ago. This just happend to me! Well you just saved me $$$ after several attempts I did what you said left it off overnight still did not turn on was determined pressed the both on and off buttons pulled out the plug did it one more time and wooo hoo! When the light turned on I thought I was seeing things. This actually worked!!!!!!! THANK YOU!!!!!!!!
Thank you for the video. My washer is 2 1/2 yrs old, model WT7305CW. Was having the same issues and for a while could unplug and plug back in and it worked... but then that stoped working. Took it apart and found out the problem was the front panel was not connecting to the control board. Put some aluminum foil on front panel, where the start button and pause button connected to the control board and it fixed the problem. Now it works perfectly!!! Cost $0. Hope this helps someone
That's why you buy the extended warranty. I bought my washer from Best Buy 2 years ago and had the issue. They couldn't fix it so they gave us the full credit to buy a new. one.
Thank you SO much for this video! I have been having the same issue! I have loved my washing machine so far (had it 3 years), but the this started happening!😢😮. I’m going to try the “long unplug” now.
Thank you very much, my dead-as-a-door-nail washing machine is running again. The automated LG technician on the phone was worthless, so I figured, try UA-cam, perhaps someone's housewife would know how to fix this? They know everything. Sure enough, there you are. After all, a few years ago some 10 year old kid on UA-cam showed me how to fix my dead Kindle. Thank you again!
this will sound silly, but try using a very light or soft touch when touching the power button. we had a repair technician come out to do a quote for an extended warranty and he basically identified the power button wasn't working and said we would need a new control board, without even opening up the housing. But ever since he came, I decided to use the soft-touch method and it has worked ever since, with no unplugging or repeated pushing of the button.
We bought a WT7300CW at Home Depot, and took the extended 3-year warranty. Within the first year the control board blew out and they came and replaced it. It's now happened again. No power. So, we'll be without a washer while it takes 3 weeks to get a repair person to come out and fix it. I would not recommend this machine. This is not a solution. You shouldn't have to unplug your machine to get it to work.
I’ve had this washer for exactly 4 days, and this issue has already happened twice. The first time I needed to wait a full 24 hours before I could return washing my clothes, the second time happened again and this strategy of holding down the power button when the machine is not plugged in for five seconds worked. It is in my opinion that this machine is clearly poorly programmed in resulting a fault in their system
Thanks for sharing Cyberskimps! I have a similar model. I lost power after a heavy load. For me, I believe that the power line going into the back of the machine got loose! I wiggled it and it worked! So I unplugged the power and then I opened the back panel only by removing 5 screws to access the inside. I masking-taped the power line down onto the machine to secure it. I saw another black power line going into the drum moves a bit precariously, and so I zip-tied it too. I guess that the power line got loose somehow during the operation, i.e., especially after a heavy load and the machine has an automatic shutdown. Hope it helps! Best.
Had this same problem start on mine 2 months out of the warranty period. I did a hard reset which is, unplug, then press and hold both the power and start buttons at the same time for 10 seconds, then plugging back in, this seemed to fix, but has happened a few time. I just added a surge protector on the outlet to see if this helps. In a few other UA-cams, a person noted the power plug filter or the mother board going out, and i'm wondering if the power filter is causing the issue to the mother board. It's been over a week and it seems the surge protector has helped from having to do hard resets on this washer.
We’ve been dealing with this problem for about a year now. Really getting tired of it. Ridiculous that we have to unplug and plug it back in just to get the damn thing to work.
These LG machines are terrible. The mother board is the weak link and should be redesigned. Having to replace them every few years isn’t worth it. I had a Maytag front loaded for 20 years, zero issues. This one made it 30 days past warranty then broke. No real quality anymore
Instead of waiting for hours or overnight, do what other commenters have said and just hold down the power and start/stop reset buttons longer. The 5 seconds doesn't work for me, but if I hold them for 10 seconds then it's fine.
I unplugged mines then plugged it back in a day and it worked. I did a tub clean when cycle was done it turned off again. I had to unplug again for a day then I plugged it in again and it worked just to wash one cycle and it turned off again. This is annoying
I have the same issue. It seems the time to be unplugged is about 10mins. I pushed the lid lock button under lid on front center like someone else mentioned and that may have been what fixed it.
***** SOLVED***** Ok, I’ve been having this problem for months. Replaced the power board and the noise filter.. my son came home from college and had it fixed in 5 min... he took the ground wire off the frame and sanded it down real well and reattached it. There was corrosion on the frame and the connector. I would have never considered that even tho that should have been the first thing I should have checked. 🤔 got to love it when my kid is in college for mechanical engineering..
This worked for me the first time it happened. Took the back top off, jiggled the ground screw from the input cord. Plugged it back in and boom, worked.
Stupid new fancy electronic CRAP!! These are purposely made to crap out with in 5-10 years. Our old machine lasted 24 years! Didn't have any of the fancy Electronics crap! They don't make them like they used to on purpose... end rant
I absolutely agree. I had the same issue. Purchased by LG Washer and Dryer November 2019. Had this issue previously, forgot what the resolution was, but the hard reset did not work (Unplug, push PLAY for 5 secs, replug it in). Ugh!!
A fast reset on our WT7305CW washer is unplug the power, press the power button for 5 seconds , press the wash start button for 5 seconds, then plug the power back in and it turns on for us every time.
@@JeffWilliamson1 I held them both at the same time. You can try to hold the power button for 5 seconds and then do the same to the start button, but I did that and nothing happened. Hold them at the same time while it’s unplugged.
1st I thought you were crazy but then I tried it and it works now lol thanks very much the simplest thing didn't think it'll work but it did you save me alot of money thx
We had the same problem, nothing worked. Our LG top loader is digital. The washing machine would not power on. It was three years old. We unplugged and plugged it back in several times and sometimes it would turn on, but mostly not. When it did turn on it worked great. We removed the pretty button picture panel ( not really sure what to call it) on the front. It's sort of just glued on. We didn't take it off cause the knob would not allow for it. Honestly we had the whole damn thing apart. This was our last step. The touch buttons all have this tiny metal strip on foam push button. The power buttons metal was worn off. The washing machine worked when the power button was pushed. So we just drilled a hole through the panel so we could push the button. You could probably fool around and try to replace the metal with foil, but we were just tired of messing with it. So...yea, the touch sensitive part of the power button was worn off. Its not directly under the power button, its 1/2" to the side. If you can't detach the front panel, or don't want to, get a Dremel or something and carefully cut the power button out. Don't do this if you don't want to deface your machine. This was our way to save from buying another machine, expensive parts that weren't needed or pay for repair service. There's no mention of this issue on the web so I thought I would share our experience.
I replaced the mother board hoping this would resolve the no power issue. But after further observation, it seems the power button on the motherboard sits to the right and not centered like it should be. I grew all kinds of frustrated. I thought about drilling a whole, but sort of found the sweetspot on the panel. It works every other time. What a piece of work.
Glad I came across this comment, if not for this I would have dumped money into parts. After hours of troubleshooting, the problem is now fixed with a small piece of cut aluminum ducting tape applied to the back of the power button. Thank you!!!!!!
This is my issue now as well thank you so much for this comment I sure was stumped, got that plastic piece where the power buttonis pulled back enough to stick a screwdriver in and Gooch that switch and she powered on
Same thing just happened to me. Thanks for the video and tips. I unplugged it, ran some errands and when I came back 2 hours later plugged it back in and it works. Frustrating! But glad I didn’t need a hou$e call for $ervice.
This issue is caused by an engineering flaw. The foam it uses to press the power button through that cover panel degrades. The reason it works when you wait is because the foam has time to return to its normal size. When you press it, you’re just compressing foam that roaches a button, and after a while it wears out and stays depressed, not allowing you to make contact with the actual button behind the panel
I could Hotwire any kind of switch in there, but what takes the least amount of effort is drilling a hole directly into the center of the power button logo on the pannel, then using something insulated to press the button. By no means professional, but I’m definitely not paying $200 if I can deal with a minor inconvenience for free
Mine (almost exact same model - bought mine 2021) did the same thing..... out of the blue no power! NOTHING! checked outlet = good, did hard reset (per LG website) = did nothing. Was nervous as 1 yr warranty just ended last month. I search UA-cam for a variety of options and I was ready to open it up and change the motherboard in the next couple days. But then I did this (unplug and leave unplugged overnight) - HAIL MARY hopeful!! Next morning - I plugged in (thinking -- no way - I"m screwed) but it turned on like nothing happened. Started my load and just started my other load tonight. Let's hope it stays that way. Thank you for this video --- I was about to give up hope.
I have the same problem. I plugged it into a surge protector and plugged surge protector into wall outlet. And the issue when away. Give this a try it may work.
I have this exact washing machine. Two years after I bought it I had this same issue. I dealt with it for a year before I changed the control board. 9 months ago I changed the control board and now it's back to not turning on. I'm so bummed. What a piece of garbage! I will be switching to a Maytag soon.
This worked for us until it didn't. We're on our 2nd WT7300CW and our 2nd control board. We finally drilled thru the control panel to access the capacitance switch directly as mentioned below and that worked great until it didn't. Now we unplug the washer after every use, press hard on the area to the right of the now absent power button, when that doesn't work we press the area to the right of the power button and start button at the same time, and sometimes unplug the unit for another 30 minutes and try again. It's different every time now. We don't want to replace the control panel again because it only worked for 6 months before malfunctioning again. Appliance makers use capacitance switches because they're cheap and easy to seal, and LG doesn't seem to care enough to redesign the control board and fix the problem. I joke with my husband that our washer is demon possessed.
Ours would not work this morning. Normally unplugging it lets it start working after awhile. Not today. Someone stated the hose could be clogged. I disconnected the hoses and pulled out the little screen filter and soaked it in some warm vinegar. I rinsed the filter and placed both back in and it worked. For a little while. Our LG TV is much better. So is the dryer. But the washer is a pain.
I have the exact same washer and I’m having the same problem. Thought it was the outlet (which admittedly needed to be updated) and had that changed, but it didn’t help. Have you found a solution?
Here are some simple work arounds , not fixes, that work for my LG- WT7300CA Top Load Washing Machine. If your machine has been left plugged in for some time and it won't start by pressing the Power On button - then there an electrical charge remaining on the Control Panel which is preventing the Power-on function from working. Since there are so many cases like this over a broad spectrum of LG models, it seems to me that this is a common fault in the control panel design. You can either 1. Unplug the power cord and wait for 30 minutes or more for the charge to dissapate, or 2. Unplug the power cord and touch the power cord contacts to a damp (not dripping) cloth for 10 to 20 seconds, which will cause the charge to dissapate virtually immediately, or 3. When you are finished using the washing machine, unplug the power cord and leave it un-plugged until the next time you need to use it.
I have had the same problem on more than one occasion. Even had LG send out a repairman last September, after it being only 3 months old. Did the HARD reset two days ago, and it worked. After first load today, no response after trying to unplug and pressing power/start for 5 seconds. This is REALLY frustrating! Less than a year old and having many issues with it. We should not have to let it sit over night to get the machine to work! Repairperson coming on Tuesday!!! Hopefully I will have a better update!
@Su Ya Rouhola He actually replaced the mother board. Said this is a common problem with machines that were made in Tennessee. He has had to replace SEVERAL. If you have had your machine LESS than ONE year, call LG direct. Set up an appointment and get it replaced!!!! I will keep this updated.

So had the same thing happen to my top load washer. Did the whole unplugged over night, 5 second reset and nothing. Then I took the circuitboard off and seen that a springs are the connecting points to the face plate. I plugged it in carefully and touched the spring and it came on. So I gave the spring a little tug and put it back on and bam works.
How did you get the control knob off to see that the springs needed to be adjusted? Ive got the cover off the knob, but cant figure out how to get the rest of the knob off to pull the display board out.
If your sound part works and you have a red light on your motherboard then it’s the metal wrapped foam connection from your motherboard to your display that has gone bad. I just pulled it off and made a tin foil pillar to go between and it now works better than ever.
i unplugged it and waited for 10 mins. Pressed pause button for 30 secs. Plugged in the washer. Pressed pause for another 30 seconds. And then pressed power on and worked again. *Note: The washer usually happen (does not turn on) to me after I had a more than usual heavy load. To avoid this happen, I normally just filled my washer 3/4 of the washer's space.
This is really frustrating. This has been happening randomly on our 2 year old machine for months. The hard reset LG suggests doesn't work so I'll try the unplug for 24 hours but isn't this ridiculous? I need to wash clothes, an $800 washing machine should work. I'm sounding like a cranky old stereotype but my parents had the same washing machine for 30 years and it never had any problems. LG should do a recall on these machines, it seems like it is a common issue and you can't even comment directly to them. It is up to us to give them poor reviews I presume and be stuck with the machine that is totally unpredictable.
I've had this issue since day 1! I hard reset almost every other day. Everyone call LG and make sure you and LG documents the problem then it might be fixed under a recall.
You should check the level. Usually installation is done incorrectly. That causes you to push harder and the foam behind gets squished. It’s an installation issue. We had the same problem. Sears did wrong installation without leveling it. Many repair guys don’t know. They say to replace the expensive parts, which last 10 yrs. It’s the foam. Find someone who is specialized in LG Samsung machines. You can’t call the average car repair sho guy for a Tesla. All they say is to replace the whole electric board.
Didn’t work for me. However I took back off and remove circuit board. Observed a coil type spring that goes into the backside of the button. I stretched it out a little and bingo! Been working ever sense. There is this type of coil that goes into each button on the front.
I have a similar issue but from the moment we purchased it (used) I’ve had to place my entire palm on it to get it to turn on . I assume it’s the sensor . Suddenly it has just stopped working. I think I punched it once and it turned on lol but I’m going to try this. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know!
@@gabrielgonzalez1637 yes. I unplugged, after an ~hour I did the button press routine (I'm also guessing that clears charge from the board), plugged it in, pressed power button, and it came alive. I could tell I was going to be successful as soon as I saw there was no spark plugging it back in. I have since put a surge suppressor in-line and so far no further trouble. In all fairness, we haven't done more than a few loads and none were large/heavy loads.
Fwiw wife just told me she's had to play the Unplug and Reset Game with our pos machine when doing another load after every large load. Calling our dealer service tomorrow. Will also be buying an extended warranty cause I sense this machine will be nothing but problems.
Same problem this morning, online it says to unplug, press POWER for 5 seconds, release, then press START/PAUSE for 5 seconds, release, plug back in...tried that, nothing. BUT...reading the comments...(thanks guys) I found what worked! 1. unplug, 2. hold START/PAUSE for 5-10 seconds. 3. plug back in. 4. Press Power button! Ours came right back on. Releasing memory/energy from a capacitor? (theory) Good Luck everyone, these are too nice to have this happening...but I guess it's an easy fix, if it works for you.
So when you pressed the power button first before pressing the start button it didn't work? Or was it that the start button was pressed for 5 more seconds?
@@khamisahismail4182 Just odd that if you first press the power button for 5 seconds before pressing the start button, it keeps it from working. He said it didn't work when pressing the power button and then the start button, but works when pressing only the start button by itself. That would indicate there's some logic process going on even with no power, rather than a discharge of a capacitance charge, which should have occurred whether or not the power button was pressed first.
Is there a reset button on my LG washer? Unplug the washer from the power outlet. Press and hold the POWER button for 5 secs and then press the START/PAUSE button for additional 5 seconds. Plug back in and viola!
I have experienced the exact same thing. The repair guy told me it was due to using to much soap causing it to have an air lock. One it sets out it’s fine.
After waiting for a week for the service rep to show and tell us that the washer was the subject of a "recall" for the power control module, I unplugged overnight ala Cyberskrimps, (thanks CS) and finally got some clothes washed. What galls me is that the LG rep had my model number and serial number and, aware of the service bulletin, did not dispatch the repair guy with the part necessary. So, now another week to wait for the part. Total time for the repair, 14 days. (Hopefully). Totally unacceptable. The worst part is that this is the new now, now. Makes me appreciate the gasoline-powered Maytag my grandmother had.
For the win! It appears the unit has "Ground Sensing" for safety that will prevent the washer from powering on. After researching this, it may be a fault in the sensitivity with that function. After trying all the reset ideas putting a surge protector in series did the trick. Thank you N E.
This worked for me!!!! Plugged into a cheap surge power strip. Power worked right away. Unplugged from power strip and plugged back into the outlet. Works like before. Thanks.
Well after 2 years of having a new lg machine same thing happened. Contacted lg and they said is not under warranty even though the machine has a sticker saying 10 year warranty. Well it turn out the 1p years covers things that will never break like the drum. Unbelievable. First time buying lg products and the last time.
If anyone runs into this issue I just troubleshot the issue on mine, nothing worked I took off the back panel and there is a spring electrode (I assume) which is connected to the touch screen panel and I messed with that a little bit and the connection between that spring and the touch screen was off a little. So once I pushed that panel up towards the touch screen and at the same time pressed the power button I was able to get it on and off. Troublesome but I can get it back on and off when needed. (If you do this unplug it first as to not electrocute yourself when messing around in there)
Repair Tech coming today for this issue. Not here yet but we just recreated issue, washer is currently sitting unplugged. Question: during normal operation when the machine is done is it supposed to auto power off after it sings its little "I'm done" song?
He came in. Ran a few diagnostics, called LG and described what we told him was happening, LG told him to swap out the control board, and he did. Luckily the shop (dealer service) suspected this and ordered a board which the tech had in his truck. Will report back with status as we use the machine more.
This is a real thing. What we have here are workarounds but no solutions or root cause. Does anyone know the root cause? Sounds like one repair tech thinks bad motherboards from Tennessee.
It is a control board that fails over time repeatedly due to basic design flaw. MANY LG washer models have this issue and it has not been addressed by LG in improving the board's electronic design or upgrading failed components so it keeps happening. File complaint with consumer protection.
Are people still having this issue? Mine is 2yrs old so out of warranty. Repair guy wants to replace the console for $500 on my 2yr old $750 machine. Seriously?!

Great video, unfortunately this is happening with you machine. Actually got the same machine model:wt7300cv, 2 weeks ago and when I first plugged it, the outlet sparks ⚡️ and i didn’t give much mind, but then later on I unplugged it and saw the the prongs got electrical burns and that got me worry. The outlet is fine cus it was tested and that never happened before. Also, I was going to start a load today and the starting play bottom wasn’t responding and then after a bit it did. I’m not talking the turn bottom like this one here. The machine works good when washing. Unfortunately I’m going to call tomorrow for a return for another one I guess. I see the outlet on this video sparks ⚡️ too. Something is wrong with the electrical board of cord with this LG machines 🤔 Bye the way, can you upload a picture from the back panel of this machine please, where the screws are holding the panel please. I’m curious, I think 🤔 they sold me a used machine and some screws are missing. I think they tried to fix this machine. I can’t go to the store cus is closed, only online. Mine looks brand new when got it with all the packaging. But now I’m worrying after this sparks ⚡️ issues started and looked at the machine around today and saw screws missing 😳 Thanks
Anyone know why the inside of the washer doesnt light up anymore, inside the drum? I've had this for maybe a year and I actually just noticed that the light isnt working inside the drum anymore. Any ideas?
I was just reading up on here about the SAME problem everyone is having. I have a top loader Model WT7800CW. It had no power suddenly/randomly. Called the repair guy. By the time he got here, it was working again. No idea why. He said he couldn't diagnose the problem if it didn't exist. Ok....It died again today after working for the last 3 months. I tried the "hard reset" BS solution. It didn't work. Read up some more on the issue. I opened the back of it, disconnected the two green ground wires by unscrewing them, sandpapered the connector and the point where the connector rests, put it back together, and it started working. Someone here mentioned that their son came home from college and did this. It works so far. It seems that there may be some electrolysis between the ground screw and the ground mounting plate causing corrosion most likely from excessive moisture in the laundry room....I think...Hopefully, it keeps working. It's running now.
Just wondering if anyone ever found a solution. I have the WT7300cw and i just had it a year so of course the warranty period is over. A couple of months after getting the washer it started acting up , well i live in an older house so I figured it was the outlet that needed to be replaced.... so I did that. Well, the sparking everytime you plug it in had me concerned so I thought maybe the burnt outlet caused a issue with the power cord ( it was a little burnt on the ends ) so I replaced that....... still did not fix the issue..... I have done the hard reset numerous times and still does not cut on all the time..... left it unplugged overnight ... still did not cut on.... I am literally about to pack this washer up and send it to LG and buy another one.... it is sooo irritating. I am at my wits end. I called LG about this issue and they pretty much told me that the warranty period is over and ALL they were willing to do is send a repairman which was going to cost over 130.00 for the service plus parts plus this and that....... i just do not know what else to do.
I have a inverter direct drive 9.5kg washing machine. It does this too. Yes it works randomly after taking plug out and works fine. But why is this happening? Is it a fuse? It also stops midway and displays the letters IE sometimes. There must be a simple fix can anyone give me some tips on how to fix it?
The hard reset on the LG website didn't work, but doing this for just a couple of hours did the trick for me! Thanks!!
Glad it worked. Thanks for watching.👍

This video saved me from having to contact a technician or get a new washer. Thank you so much!
I don’t know if I was lucky or not but I followed the steps below and it worked!
1. Unplug the machine for 30 mins
2. After the 30 mins, plug it back in
3. Press and hold the power AND the play/pause button for at least 10 secs then release those buttons
4. Press the power button again and the machine should turn on
Good luck!
I will try this. The LG washing machine did stop washing about a year ago and now tonight. I will unplug overnight & try in the morning! 😠 😡 😤
This worked!! You saved service costs for me!! Thanks a lot
This totally worked, thank you very much 👍
Unbelievable!
Early Sat. am. So much to do, and I thought I'd drop a load in forst thing - NO POWER!
THANKG GOD for thos thread!
10 min unplugged, hard reset, MIRACLE! It came on!!!! 😭😍😳
Saving this video for sure!
Excellent!
Glad it helped!
Same exact thing happened to me. I replaced my control board nine months ago and it's back to not wanting to turn on. I'm so annoyed.
We had the same problem for so long. Then finally we done a tub clean and we never had a issue again. Now we press tub clean once a month and our washer works perfectly everytime.
I just press tub clean and it came on thank you
@@SuperJason488 if you unscrew the water line there also is a filter screen inside you can clean. If it's dirty it will make it not come on also. So just rinse it off and put it back in.

I had the same problem, yesterday I paid a technician to come and look at it, he didn't fix the problem.
Thanks for sharing
Washer is 8 days over 1 yr warranty. Having same issue. Leaving it unplugged overnight solved my issue. Thanks!
That's why you buy the extended warranty. I bought my washer from Best Buy 2 years ago and had the issue. They couldn't fix it so they gave us the full credit to buy a new. one.
@@hitman321100nobody asked nobody cares lol
Thank you SO much for this video! I have been having the same issue! I have loved my washing machine so far (had it 3 years), but the this started happening!😢😮. I’m going to try the “long unplug” now.
You are my hero!!! Your quick unplug trick for 10 minutes worked!!!!
We bought a brand new machine, had it delivered and installed yesterday, and this exact same thing happened to ours, after ONE load.
Amazing. Unplugging for just a few minutes did the trick. Saved me a technician call and tons of stress. Subscribed!
Same problem, WT7100CW; wouldn’t turn on. Unplugged for 10 mins, hard reset, did the trick 👍
Instead of waiting for hours or overnight, do what other commenters have said and just hold down the power and start/stop reset buttons longer. The 5 seconds doesn't work for me, but if I hold them for 10 seconds then it's fine.
hold the buttons at the same time?
I unplugged mines then plugged it back in a day and it worked. I did a tub clean when cycle was done it turned off again.
I had to unplug again for a day then I plugged it in again and it worked just to wash one cycle and it turned off again. This is annoying
I have the same issue. It seems the time to be unplugged is about 10mins. I pushed the lid lock button under lid on front center like someone else mentioned and that may have been what fixed it.
***** SOLVED*****
Ok, I’ve been having this problem for months.
Now it did it again, and this didn't fix it.
Stupid new fancy electronic CRAP!! These are purposely made to crap out with in 5-10 years. Our old machine lasted 24 years! Didn't have any of the fancy Electronics crap! They don't make them like they used to on purpose... end rant
You are so right! They do Vehicles the same way!
I absolutely agree. I had the same issue. Purchased by LG Washer and Dryer November 2019. Had this issue previously, forgot what the resolution was, but the hard reset did not work (Unplug, push PLAY for 5 secs, replug it in). Ugh!!
Me too...Had my Sears Kenmore for 29 years - I bought this WT7300CW in March of 2020 and May 1st, 2021 it wont come on. JUNK!
As mister Scott from Star Trek would say, "The more complicated you make the plumbing, the easier it is to stop up the drain." Electronic crap indeed.
A fast reset on our WT7305CW washer is unplug the power, press the power button for 5 seconds , press the wash start button for 5 seconds, then plug the power back in and it turns on for us every time.
This one did the trick. Thank you!
This actually worked for me. Thank you so much! I was getting frustrated lol
Do you release the power and then press the wash start button or press power for 5, keep holding it and press both for 5?

I don't know yet, but this is what it feels like the issue is for ours. Thanks for sharing!
This is my issue now as well thank you so much for this comment I sure was stumped, got that plastic piece where the power buttonis pulled back enough to stick a screwdriver in and Gooch that switch and she powered on
I worked as well for my daughter's machine. Thanks for sharing
Mine had the same problem. Tried as what you showed us. It turned to work again. Thank you very much for sharing you experience.
Having the same issue on the same washer. I’ll leave it unplugged and hopefully that does the trick for us too. LG ought to be ashamed of themselves.
Did it work?
Did you get your washer to work? I have the same model - 14 months old and this happened to me...
Thank you for this tip 👍👍
Just tried this and it worked!!! Thanks 😊
I have same problem pop up today.thanks for your video.
It worked! I had to leave mine unplugged for 2 days though. But it worked.
I had a Kenmore Heavy Duty that worked fine for 35 years.
They don't make them like they used to. ;)
And that worked for a week and now it is hit or miss again. Mine does not seem to have a hard reset.
Hey, adding an extra 10 minutes before hard reset seemed to do the trick! Thank you!!!
Hi Lee
May i know how to hard reset?
I have the exact same washer and I’m having the same problem. Thought it was the outlet (which admittedly needed to be updated) and had that changed, but it didn’t help. Have you found a solution?
Did you try leaving it unplugged for a couple hours(overnight). Then while plugging it back in, push & hold the power button at the same time.
Def keep us updated.👍
@Su Ya Rouhola He actually replaced the mother board. Said this is a common problem with machines that were made in Tennessee. He has had to replace SEVERAL. If you have had your machine LESS than ONE year, call LG direct. Set up an appointment and get it replaced!!!! I will keep this updated.

Is your machine working without any issues now? Or is it still acting up after the motherboard replacement?
@@emeraldmay1974 Did this fix work? Did it stop sparking when you plug it in?
Does flipping the circuit breaker off, overnight, for that room replicate this fix?
Fixed mine, thank you!
Great!
I so agree with you. Totally ridiculous. Ours is 2yrs old as well. Repair guy wants $500 to replace the console on my $750 machine.. seriously.
This is ridiculous. 😠 Anybody aware of a recall or class action lawsuit related to this machine?
There should be as there is a arc that’s caused after you power cycle (unplugging and plugging after 20-30 seconds).
They don't issue recalls unless there is a safety issue. This is not. Just a manufacturing issue/flaw.
I actually called them this morning about this and there were no recalls. I told them there should be.
I've had this issue since day 1! I hard reset almost every other day. Everyone call LG and make sure you and LG documents the problem then it might be fixed under a recall.
What ever happened with this? Mine doing same thing. Did you need it repaired or did leaving it completely fix it?
No, just the unplugging. Haven't had to do it in over a year.(probably just jinxed it)
You should check the level.
Thank you sweetie. This saved my girlfriends parents $700 +dollars
Didn’t work for me. However I took back off and remove circuit board. Observed a coil type spring that goes into the backside of the button. I stretched it out a little and bingo! Been working ever sense. There is this type of coil that goes into each button on the front.
It worked!!! 🎉❤❤❤❤
Same machine, exact same issue. 15 loads in and
Did it work for you?
Thank you! Solution worked perfectly!!
Thank you
So when you pressed the power button first before pressing the start button it didn't work?
Or was it that the start button was pressed for 5 more seconds?
@@wingerrrrrrrrr mine, as he suggested, I unplugged, pressed Start button for 10 secs, plugged in, then I pressed Power button, and it worked.
@@khamisahismail4182
Just odd that if you first press the power button for 5 seconds before pressing the start button, it keeps it from working.
He said it didn't work when pressing the power button and then the start button, but works when pressing only the start button by itself. That would indicate there's some logic process going on even with no power, rather than a discharge of a capacitance charge, which should have occurred whether or not the power button was pressed first.
Mine does this too , about every other month. It is ridiculous- it has been doing this since it was less than a year old.
No I don't think so.
🎉 thank you!
Than you …it worked 😅
We replaced our WORKING 20yr old Maytag for this marvel of technology and have the same disappointing problem. What a piece of trash.
I found adding single plug surge supressor adaptor fixes the problem with mine
For the win! It appears the unit has "Ground Sensing" for safety that will prevent the washer from powering on. After researching this, it may be a fault in the sensitivity with that function. After trying all the reset ideas putting a surge protector in series did the trick. Thank you N E.
THIS is what worked for me!
Do you have a specific Model for the plug surge suppressor ?!?! Thank you !!!
This worked for me!!!! Plugged into a cheap surge power strip. Power worked right away. Unplugged from power strip and plugged back into the outlet. Works like before. Thanks.
I can get by with having mine unplugged for about 30 minutes. Recently put a surge protector between wall and washer and now I don't have to unplug.
Well after 2 years of having a new lg machine same thing happened. Contacted lg and they said is not under warranty even though the machine has a sticker saying 10 year warranty. Well it turn out the 1p years covers things that will never break like the drum. Unbelievable. First time buying lg products and the last time.
Thank you worked for me!
(If you do this unplug it first as to not electrocute yourself when messing around in there)
Thank you so much! 😊 this saved me 100’s of dollars. You’re the best and I hope you have a merry Christmas! Take care 🖤
Worked for me as well.
@@whiskeywisdomplus we haven't had the issue repeat since the board was replaced.
This is a real thing. What we have here are workarounds but no solutions or root cause. Does anyone know the root cause? Sounds like one repair tech thinks bad motherboards from Tennessee.
Sounds to me like a capacitor on the board is bad.
It is a control board that fails over time repeatedly due to basic design flaw. MANY LG washer models have this issue and it has not been addressed by LG in improving the board's electronic design or upgrading failed components so it keeps happening. File complaint with consumer protection.
Thank you I hope this works❤
Mine does the exact same thing. It would only work after I unplugged it overnight. Now it's not working at all.
Me too! what did you do to fix it permanently?
@@roadygustafson I got on Twitter @LG and they came and replaced the panel. I'm giving it to my daughter lol
Are people still having this issue? Mine is 2yrs old so out of warranty. Repair guy wants to replace the console for $500 on my 2yr old $750 machine. Seriously?!
I just slept it on the machin and it work😂
I hope LG is watching this video, so many people with the same problem. Will not buy another LG, after this. 😢
Nice, but it is not the permanent solution if it keeps happening. My wash just started doing that - what was the real solution?
Exactly. Eventually, this will likely stop working. That's what happened to me.
Did this machine ever get working for you or did you buy sonething else?? I'm so tired of it doing tired for me. 4 years we've had it now.
@@mschenandlerbong8539 we still use this LG washer. It actually hasn't had to do this unplug reset for a year or 2.(tho, I probably just jinxed it by typing this😆)
@@Cyberskrimps It's weird how sporatic it is. I've tried the reset methods but it only works sometimes.
Sometimes nothing helps and I just have to try again tomorrow. Otherwise I like how well it performs and how much it holds. But man that issues is ANNOYING.
Great video,
unfortunately this is happening with you machine.
Something is wrong with the electrical board of cord with this LG machines 🤔
Bye the way, can you upload a picture from the back panel of this machine please, where the screws are holding the panel please. I’m curious, I think 🤔 they sold me a used machine and some screws are missing. I think they tried to fix this machine. I can’t go to the store cus is closed, only online.
Mine looks brand new when got it with all the packaging. But now I’m worrying after this sparks ⚡️ issues started and looked at the machine around today and saw screws missing 😳
Thanks
Wow, worked for me too!
How did you take this thing apart ? Is there a video somewhere? Thanks in advance!
This is amazing. It worked!! Thank you (-:
