This was the best thing that happened to me today!! Thank you so much for taking the time to make this video. My 6 year old front load washer/dryer set is identical to yours. I had scheduled a serviceman to come at the price of $89.00 to walk in the door. I worried it would be the electronics and very expensive to repair. I didn't want to have to buy another washer as it wouldn't match the dryer. Your video saved the day!!! I couldn't pull the washer out as it was too heavy and I could not reach the plug. Instead, I turned off the breaker, followed your instructions and like magic, the washer worked again!!! Thank you so much!!!

My LG direct drive washing machine would not turn on. My initial instinct was to unplug the machine and plug it back in. My wife mentioned to check on UA-cam and I am so glad I did. Your repair solution worked immediately! I am so impressed and relieved that I did not have to call a repairman or worse, purchase a new machine. My 12 year old LG is working great! Thank you Mad Catter!!!

Two hours later I was up and running headed to work super late , then my wife calls saying our washer is broke (same exact washer as you). Someone please chime in here : This process of pressing the power and start/pause button, is this discharging the capicators? I imagine it's a sign of the a fault within the main PCB, as plugging it in after this causes an arc

@@tacos6996 it's absolutely the mother board that has to be replaced which is about $116 refurbished and $250 new. I was doing the same thing with my washer, except I had to go outside to our fuse box in order to power it off because I couldn't reach the plug. Works great for one load and then you have to do the process all over again. Which I did several times because I love my washer, but unfortunately it's only a temporary fix. It is about a $450 repair unless you do it yourself. New washer is about to arrive any moment and I'm so sad because mine looks like new and works great when it has power. Mine is going on 9 years. I remember when washers used to last 30 years

Yes, LG's are very reliable except it seems they've really cheaped out on their PCB board (which is ironic because they are an electronics company that just happens to make appliances as well😂) I believe the new models have much improved electronics (the ones that have the new PCB board are ones that have the slimmer LG letters rather than their old bold font)

The Technician was correct you will end up replacing the pcb to actually fix the problem. Yes you can reboot that way but you will more than likely get sock of dking that every time you want to do laundry. I see this with LG probably 3 to 4 times a month on calls. If you look at the pcb you will more than likely see some capacitors blown.

Thank you so much for this video! You just saved me a weekend and about $1000 for a new washer. I have an 12-year-old LG 4 ft.³ washer. Your solution to Repair worked like a charm! I couldn’t believe it. I had called LG directly, they gave me a bunch of steps to go through for troubleshooting none of which worked. I pretty much gave up and started looking for new machines until I saw your UA-cam. Truthfully, I thought it was not going to work given the extensive troubleshooting LG already put me through. But it worked, and I am very grateful to you for putting this UA-cam online. 12 years and this is the first time this happenedwith this washing machine. Thank you!

Well, bless your heart! At first I was frustrated because I was frustrated about my washing machine not working. I was also frustrated about listening to all of the backstory. But then I understood that you were frustrated as you wrote it or created the video I should say. my washing machine is stacked with a dryer on top of it in a closet built specifically for a washer and dryer. It’s wonderful and convenient. However, it is not convenient to get at the back. I ended up just turning off the breaker and doing your reset sequence. I went back down to the basement and turn the breaker back on. From the basement, I could hear the sound of the washing machine… The little chimes sound it makes. I am really grateful that you took the time to put this on UA-cam. I’m also very grateful that your video was returned close to the top of my search results.

Unplugged washer, did your reset. Came up power supply problem. Couldn't be. Everything is fine. Did another reset and heard a fuzzy buzzing sound from the GFI.
Plugged in a hand mixer, (it was close in the kitchen, don't judge people) it would work randomly.

I have this set and my dryer wouldn't turn on. Almost in tears, I started searching for appliance repair in my area. Started watching UA-cam videos and found this one. All I did was unplug it and plug it back in and it came right on!!!! Thank you!!! 😘😘😘🥰

LG washer/dryer purchased 1/22/13 (so, just over 7 years old). Same symptoms, no washing machine power at all. Recently have had to repeatedly open/close door - sometimes slamming it - to get the door LOCK to energize. Recently it started this "no power" problem and the Owner's Manual was of no help. SOMETIMES unplugging/re-plugging the power cord would get it going again but not so much recently. Tried a heavy-duty extension cord plugged into another outlet in the kitchen. That worked ... a couple of times.
Found this little video and tried it - SUCCESS! (so far anyway! ... now lemme see if I can work out some kind of payment plan with MRS Jim!).
    Thank you so much!!

Tried it…and it worked…this should be the absolute first step! Even better than disconnecting the power in back…because often, moving it to get access to the electric outlet, just stat by turning off the breaker at the electric panel, and go through the steps she describes! Then put the breaker back on. Thank you for posting this video.

It works! Saved me from not being able to do laundry with a houseful of visitors coming for the holidays.
Hope the repair person gave you back the $85.
Wish you'd put the fix in the beginning, though.

You saved us from a costly service call like so many others. Your kindness of sharing this solution is greatly appreciated. Too bad you couldn't get a small commission from all of the people you helped. You might be a millionaire soon.

3/3/24. Thank you for posting this video!! My washer died today so like you, I looked up the issue on UA-cam and found your post. I was very skeptical at first knowing that simple fixes like this usually don’t apply to my problems but that was not the case today! It worked like a charm!! God Bless You!!!

I was reading through your comments. I don’t know if you ever got your $85 back, but I’d pay $85 for the opportunity to make as many people happy as you did in your video! 👍🏻

Was pretty skeptical of how an unplugged machine could do an electronic reset but because I had no other option I gave it a shot… wish I would have recorded the surprise on my face when my unresponsive washer came to life after following these steps!!! Can’t thank you enough for your post.. (by the way, I went even crazier and held it for 8seconds each!!) thanks a million!!!

Yes saw your video and now my washer runs too! It would of cost me the same to have a repair man come out and probably do the same thing and charge me the $150 bucks to do the same thing or something else! Thanks so much for this tutorial on fixing the LG model front loader washer! Thank you for sharing! I am disabled and really can’t afford even a repair man but was willing to put it on a credit card and pay it off later! But you saved me so much money! Thank you thank you!
