Why do you need a 17-minute video to tell an obvious Alignment? Alucard is Lawful Evil, Abridged is Chaotic Neutral. There, done, saved like 16 minutes of everyone's time.

You... did not get the base appeal and goal of this series did you? It's pretty rare that we get surprised by the final alignement of these videos. What's interesting is interogating the morality of the individual actions of a character throughout their series and see how it effects the canvas of their morality through the lens of the DnD alignement chart. These are fun, thoughtful and worth watching if one is in search of a good time.

But I never said it was objectively bad, I just thought it was one of those videos that drags out a very simple question for like, 20 minutes, I've seen them before. And those are VERY annoying.

I like the “steps 2 through 10 failed” at the top. Hellsing Ultimate Abridged is great character comedy, and an amazing parody.

This needs an abridged Alucard version because it would be absolutely hilarious seeing him go from Lawful Evil and slam straight to Chaotic Neutral!
But the original Alucard is still incredibly kickass either way and is so awesome!
Edit: The nods to the abridged version is incredibly heartwarming to see since it's just soo hilarious and fun to watch.

@@inductivegrunt94 the Anderson scenes are LG/NG and his counciling would be a good act, except for the fact that he only did that after he couldn’t kill them, which is just necessity, not good, so N. But every single fight for him is just CE over the top physical violence and verbal abuse.

A plane? A PLANE?! That is an SR-71 Blackbird, first plane to become a spaceship, was mostly used for long range recon on the USSR, hits up to mach 3 (they hand wave the speed). Some respect for that dark phoenix of Allucard's

I mean if we're doing a dracula and the spawn of dracula theme, technically seras is the closest thing he has to a daughter. could be interesting to see her development from a trouble girl growing up after her parents death, becoming a police officer just to be through into the craziness that is hellsing.

Keep in mind the ONLY reason Seras as a vampire is held in high regard compared to all others is she did not throw away what makes her human, despite becoming a fully fledged vampire. This is show in fact with her first and presumably only consumed soul, Pip, who still retains his sense of self and identity within Seras acting as a shadowy partner to her. Compare that to the familiars of Alucard, whom are just mindless fuel for his powers and raw force.
I’m surprised you didn’t talk more about Anderson. I’d love to see you cover him.
Anderson is lawfull good. He believes in an absolute good that must always be followed. even if he must sacrifices all that is human. He is a classical "lawfull good paladin, but as the villain" type guy.
If I had to guess what Anderson would lie under by the end… neutral good, leaning more lawful good but neutral because when it got personal….. god almost goes out the window.
@@greulich9635 Anderson is ALSO Lawful Evil, because he twists the obvious meaning of that obvious good and flies in the face of all of his religions teachings to justify the worst faith, most twisted and extreme versions of his ideology.
If you have a religion, that allows total redemption for anyone, regardless of circumstances and your best faith interpretations is death before redemption, you aren't a very *good* person or even necessarily very Lawful. He skates by on Lawful because he's adhering to his sects law which allows and endorses such things.
Honestly I'd go with chaotic good. He's a Judas Priest of Iscariot. He's damning his soul so others won't have to. Committing evil for the sake of a cause, even when he is knowingly doing morally objectionable things, to put it mildly. If even one soul is saved through his actions, no matter how reprehensible, he will have done his duty and he will be content in death.

Just out of sheer curiosity, I'm kind of wondering where TFS's version of Alucard would end up on the chart, to compare him to his canonical self. There'd definitely be more chaotic dings, I'm sure.

I'd say Abridged-Alucard is definitely Chaotic Evil. He loves murder and violence, and acts like an immature dickhead because he knows he's unbeatable.
@@TheLangenator while partly due to the contract with Integra I'm sure he never deliberately harms innocent people. Not to discount the collateral damage he may cause but he is at least somewhat restrained in his actions.
@@lordgod9958 Quite honestly, he's one of the few characters that cross into the Anarchic alignment rather than Chaotic using some of the 3.5 additional alignments (Axiomatic, Anarchic, Exalted, and Vile) that cover the extremes of an Alignment.
Normal Alucard kid of fits as the Chaotic/Neutral/Honorable which is extremely rare as well...
The abridged brought in something interesting to Alucard's character
That being that Vlad is essentially prime Dracula. The original and the one who goes by Vlad the Impaler with his own personality and consciusness.
While Alucard is an alternate personality that formed over the centuries as he accumulated more and more souls. Basically a collection of random vices and cruel thoughts (basically the Internet) that slowly buried the original Vlad.
I mean… I feel that this is implied in the original series, with Vlad having his accent again after relinquishing all of his souls.
Loving all the references to the Abridged, and even using the Lani version of Shine at the end for the credits was a great touch.
If was to throw in my own offering to the "Vampire" D&D look into, I would probably say the main lead from Interview with the Vampire. The one with Tom Cruise as the lead from 1994. Seeing how someone's mind continues to wish for his death, but every step of the way when forced to choose, his Will pushes him to keep living. Absolutely not a movie for the kids... COnsidering one is forced to become a Vampire.

A character can do 'good' while still being evil, it is where the Lawful portion comes in. Alucard is Lawful Evil with STRONG Chaotic tendencies.
I’d say it’s the opposite, Alucard is a Chaotic Evil being that is sometimes guided by Lawful Good forces.
Technically, all alucard really enjoys is hurting people, gaining power and indulging in pleasure. But he has respect for his hellsing masters, and when they tell him to kill a big evil bad guy, he’ll do it.
Hellsing is a lot deeper than you think, for example The Captain and the reasoning behind The Major being a cyborg.
Ever since watching Hellsing Abridged I cannot see Alucard in the same light. In my mind he is a chaotic neutral kid that wants a supersonic jet for Christmas. ^^
Jokes aside. You touched on everything I love about this series. It's a shame since most are turned off by it due it the hyper violence despite all the good stuff there is here. However if you are looking to add more Vampires to the list consider Seras. Her whole story of trying to maintain her humanity despite not having it anymore is just a good story.
Okay but can you do it again but with the abridged version!! Even if only for Patreon I would gladly join for that.

Loved the video and seeing the token change to reflect the eras of Alucard. I'd also love to see TFS' Alucard as a bonus or extra video down the line, especially with all the references in this video.
This was a great episode! Love the refrences to tfs' Hellsing abridged. As far as recomendations for other vampires are concerned: Kain from the legacy of kain series would be awesome or maybe Angel/Angelus from Buffy

I love that ever since TFS' abridged series ended and used a rendition of the song Shine in its end credits, there have been several other Hellsing videos ending with it as the outro.

Alucard, what D&D alignment are you?
Alucard: Yes.
Shoulda had a lawful good in there for coming back to integra of his own volition if he’s sorted through his powers and reconstituted himself it’s likely the hold the Hellsing family had over him is gone, meaning he came back to integra of his own will out of a sense of love and duty. I believe this to be the case because you see Alucard using his advanced vampiric powers in the final scene without removing his limiters. Also necromancy would be neutral if done with consent so you could argue turning Seras was Chaotic Neutral, but this is honestly subjective.
surprisingly close to being true neutral although depending on how you view it him killing the souls trapped inside him could be seen as him setting them free which would probably push him further into one of the good categories

@ 13:56 ~ Here's how I've gathered from watching the DIO vs Alucard episode. Schrödinger is like Waldo from the "Where's Waldo?" Book series. You know he's there (on the front cover of the book), therefore you recognize him and thus he exists. But once you open the book and Waldo goes missing amongst the sea of people, you can't find him. Thus, he's both not there and doesn't exist to the same extents. IDK if that made any sense to anybody. It was just my 2 cents on the matter.

If he's lawful Neutral in the end. He's got to be the most extreme variant of that alignment. Following his code makes him lawful I guess. But he takes pleasure in sadistic actions throughout the show. He shows respect to allies but no mercy to even bystanders. He's clearly evil in most regards. Viewing his companions more like pets, with the exception of Integra. I've got to put him lawful Evil or Neutral Evil. He's not a nice guy most of the time.
Love the Abridged references. The timing on his re-entrance on the battleship set to the opening of "get ready to die" was a master stroke of comedy. Call back to an earlier scene where he forgot his music for a grand entrance. I like to think of him using his log absence agonizing over his choice of music when he got there.
I don't really see how alucard is lawful in anyway he doesn't use the law to help advance himself nor does he follow a code, alucard is somewhere between neutral evil and chaotic evil.
You missed the best part of the boat scene! Alucard messed up the boat so much that he ended up having to tow the damn thing to shore with his MIND! T.K. for the win.
Im honestly impressed with how similar a lot of the voices in the abridged were to the dub since im just figuring that out now.
He is lawful/neutral but his actions often result in chaos for the other party, so the rest will most certainly perceive him as chaotic/evil
It's not mainstream, but I'd love to see an alignment video on Count Dracula, from the Young Dracula TV series. Keith-Lee Castle is an underrated Dracula.

90 and eurly 2000 anime still looks so good. i love the old time of anime. story over Visuals is always something i have and even tho this is so blood and gory fun in between, there is still a story in here that is still good. also alucard/dracula great naming changing choice intergra.
Arthur actually as an Arthur hellsing integra's dad because Alucard said her her father called him Alucard not her and sister called him Alucard and there was one or two generations between Van Helsing and Integra considering that Dracula takes place in Victorian times and Hellsing takes place in the 1990s

Other vampires I'd probably be interested in seeing an Alignment video would be Kain and Raziel from the Legacy of Kain game series. They're somewhat morally complex characters so it might be a little challenging.
Doing this with the Abridged Alucard would be absolutely hilarious.

Generally, vampires tend to be lawful of some sort, either lawful evil (more common) or lawful neutral, though very rarely lawful good, and rarely chaotic of any sort.
Alucard (non-abridged one) is a perfect example of lawful evil
Honestly, during release restriction 0 the revelation that he devoured his own troops and men when he turned vampire the first time should add more to his chaotic evil or at least evil of some standing
