Just installed a bunch of G5 domes and a couple G5 bullets for my church. They’re absolutely incredible and the staff loves the simplicity of the UniFi Protect app!
Guys, we really need a dome camera that is pro quality for the lineup...

Well, I think something a little cheaper than $1800. It's a great camera, large, but overkill for so many other uses a smaller PTZ camera. I have a small one from another brand of PoE cameras I use, and it's never been all that great. I'm been waiting for Unifi to release something similar but better to swap it out with.
The G5 flex is such a fantastic camera. Great field of view, great picture, and fantastic detection range.
G5 is such an amazing line!!! The detection and and wide view on the pro is so clear!! The new flex is a massive upgrade to the g3 and same profile so all the weather and mounts work with it. Just swap out the g3 flex for G5 flex!
Sooooo what's the status on adding GIF or videos to the doorbell pro?

Awesome Cameras. Buying G5 pro with extender, might need two of them for my house. Currently building my home network with redundant setup. Going to make a video on it within next 3-4 months. Have a mix of cameras to install, using flex, professional, and enterprise level switches and hardware with DAC cables or Fiber patch cables. Current future proofing my Home/Office.
I'd love to see an LPR camera!
@smk99 I tried every method possible with our G4 Pro and while it worked great during the day it just couldn't capture them a night, not like our Hikvision LPR does.
UVC-AI-BULLET?
Need a black version of both the G5 bullet and G5 bullet Pro. Sadly the regular G5 bullet will turn yellow if its used outdoors thanks to its plastic housing.
While nice if they had the option from the factory. They are pretty easy to spray paint. Did that for a client.

What about the G5 instant? Many people have been having issues with the G4 so it would be good to get a revision. Also hard wired isn't always an option for everyone.
Why are new items being released when the Doorbell Pro isn't available?!

Shortly after I purchased my G4 pro an automatic firmware update clearly reduced the cameras night time clarity. I was able to save pictures of the image before and after the update. The difference IMO is the improvement now demonstrated with the G5 pro. It looks like software not hardware based improvement. Are the sensors even different? This is the one and only gripe I have with my UI system. Did UI deliberately reduce the capability of the G4 pro via their updates so they could offer an improvement with the G5 pro? Have any tech guys installed the g5 pro firmware into the g4 pro and noticed an improvement?
I like to see more night time shots vs Wyze 3... Only reason I use Wyze 3 is because how amazing it looks at night.
you can't even compare. They are night and day difference. Especially since Wyze is WiFi only. If I had to pick 1 to compare to the wyze it would be the G4 Instant since it's wireless also. Also, if you want analytics with Wyze you have to pay for the subscriptions. Unifi's upfront cost for the G4 instant is more ($99) but also has 2K resolution which only the wyze 3 pro has and it's $59. To each there own though.

@@StoneLegion still fails? how so? I have no problem with my night shots on my g5 cams. Granted I haven't tried the v3 wyze cams. My last wyze cam I reviewed was a v2.
I have a Wyze 3 and 3 G5 flex and a G5 bullet. The Wyze is way better at night, but the stability and playback capabilities have the Wyze in my desk drawer and 8 ubi cams recording my home.
@@thenerdshowou can unlock the boot loader and do crazy things with Wyze, stream anytime, record to NAS, AI detections, etc.

But it’s at a $70 discount to the G4 version. So it’s a decent trade off.
Interested in what's going on at 1:38 in the video. Will my UNVR get a firmware update to show live clips on the LCD?
Probably not - it's just fantasy marketing which Ubiquiti are well known for. They often over promise and under deliver.

Great but the app/software can be better. Why there is option to turn on notifications only for a custom motionzone? And a option to send a webhook request….

The smart detection features are great in theory, too bad my AI bullets crash and reboot every time a license plate is detected

why did you make the G5 BULLET with plastic case? you had to leave it in metal like the G4 BULLET and create a G5 BULLET LITE with a plastic case!
why are the g5 cameras cheaper than g4? I'm watching comparisons and the g4's apparently have better image quality so the g5's were made to be cheaper?
the G4 Bullet has a Quad-core Arm® Cortex®-A53 based chip, gigabit port, and max frame rate of 24 FPS where the G5 only has a Dual-core Arm® Cortex®-A7 based chip, 100MB network port but 30 FPS. Also the g5 has a plastic backing whereas the g4 is all metal

Is installing protect app on android TV device like an nvidia sheild good enough?
@@hullo2u1not really. I mean it works & actually allows you to go between cameras & scrub through footage
But it doesn’t do what the Viewport does. Allow real-time viewing of all cameras as well as having different camera layouts.
@@shelms488 hey thanks for the reply. I still don’t understand. In my app on the shield I can press multi view. And in that view I can choose from different views I have configured on the web app. Where in the web app I can arrange the cameras however.
And those views are live

Ironically the G5 camera is the only one that died for me. Had it a few weeks and all ready dead. No feed. Bring back quality cameras.

You changed the Access licenses and made that product much more expensive, and essentially killed it by doing so since doing so you misused your customers trust, how can we invest in your hardware when we might risk getting the same treatment on your other products?
Big time! I now can’t trust UI to remain license-free and won’t add more cameras to any of my sites because of that change with Access. I am working to transition to Blue Iris now, which is wildly disappointing but necessary. Even Chris with Crosstalk, who has been one of Ubiquiti’s biggest proponents on UA-cam, will not sell Protect.
I'm considering a hefty investment into Ubiquiti. Can you clarify your stance on this? I don't see verbiage on licensing anywhere?
