As I cannot use a USB flash drive in my HP 6970, can I link my laptop and printer via a USB cable? OR Can I add the .ful file in the HP folder somewhere?
@@adamsharkofficial I really only know doing through these methods and I never figured out how to actually have the printer pull the file off the pc. There may be a way through command prompt but I dont know how to do that.
@@simplybs9311 Thanks. I will try another way and if it works, I will inform you to update your content for your viewers. I will never again purchase any HP product in my life.
Hello. hanks for uploading this. I have the same problem with the same printer. Has there been any update on how to get this sorted? Did you find another way to rollback the firmware? I have been trying to fix mine for a couple of days. Hope you see this and reply. Thanks.
The reason the rollback is not working is because HP did an update which more or less blocked specific chips even their own that was made around or before the expiry date of 2020. So more less the real solution is to find third party cartridges that have the newly developed chips that by pass this issue and make sure you stay have the updates turned off on your printer.
@@simplybs9311 Yes, if possible, could you also guide me on how to establish, remove, downgrade firmware, and reinstall the latest version? That would be very helpful.

Hey you would have to wait till after the 1st of December and new chips come out for aftermarket cartridges. HP is doing a big overhaul of their cartridges and a firmware update is coming out on the 1st. So if you plan to purchase a printer make sure to turn off updates immediately so that if you are connected to the internet with the printer no firmware updates would automatically install on it.
@@simplybs9311 absolutely the first thing to do is lock the option of auto-update. what do you mean by the 1st of December? Hp going to allow the second-hand cartridges?
Hello, I have the same printer but I get a message that says to remove the cartridges for new ones since the printer is not designed for an ink system.
@@simplybs9311 I did the bypassing of the head and the firmware downgrading to version 1849 as in one of your videos, but after a while it tells me that the printer is not designed for continuous ink systems, to change the cartridges for original ones.
@@albagomez1212 that could be the reason basically hp is telling you that you should not be using the machine like a continuous inking machine. The work load you are putting it through is too much and possibly you have filled the ink waste area as well.
Hi good day. I have the 7740 and im still waiting on some good news as to what to do regarding the replacement cartridges. It is here like a decoration in my office until. If anyone find out any solution please let me know. i dont mind paying for any good working information. Thanks in advance
To add to this thread, I have this printer. There was a firmware update released and I accidentally updated my printer. Now the printer won't print or copy anything. I can do a test print from the menu on the printer, but it spins and never actually prints or copies anything. I tried downgrading the firmware but it is not downgrading at all. So now I have a bricked printer essentially. It is 1 year and 3 months old, so it is out of support and HP considers anything firmware related a hardware issue, so they can't help. The only option is to buy a nee printer unless they release a new firmware version to fix it. Long story short, turn off updates on your printer. From what I can tell they only are there to try and stop non HP ink and don't add any functionality. So best case you get no added benefit, worst case you need to buy a new printer.
Wait you have another option, based on the region of your printer you can purchase a mainboard online. If you can find one online just replace the board and it should start back working, the only catch is what firmware the board on it has. The other thing you have to know is that printers like these are region based so if you are from america a US based mainboard would be your best bet since the cartridges you have will continue to work.
Also consider the massive environmental damage HP is inflicting upon the world with this system. Having to throw away perfectly usable cartriges into landfills of plastic waste because of HP's greed... My next printer is not going to be an HP anymore, or any manufacturer where I have to have come up with these silly workarounds.
Hello, i refilled my in cartridges but on the printer they’re still appear empty but its printing showing the letter low ink

Better don't buy any HP products. Its an wholly shit.
Copy the firmware (.ful2 or .ful) to a USB drive and run a manual update (downgrade).
