The C/96 Broomhandle Mauser in Austrian WWI Service.

  • Today we're looking at an example of one of the relatively uncommon Austrian contract WW1 era Mauser Broomhandle pistols. By most accounts, about 13,000 pistols were taken out of regular wartime commercial production and sent to Austria, where they were stamped with Austrian acceptance marks and used by Austrian forces. Many of these pistols were reissued in the 1930's, and will have further Austrian proofs indicating such. This example is dated 1916, and was not reissued.

    Really interesting, will take a closer look at the one I have. Can't find much info on it, large ring hammer with rubber grips...

      Large ring hammers sometimes have black rubber hard grips with Mauser emblems on them. You can find examples of these in some of my other videos!
