Well I have a new lure to try! It's been a min since I fished freshwater.
Can you make a video of this said kayak
This is top water right?
Really curious what kind of line do you use on your bait caster and what is a good bait caster I could buy
@@Jksnatcher he has
Ever since they turned a two day fishing trip into weekly video series with ten episodes I’ve been avoiding them.
Thats just youtube, they made multiple videos in a short time frame to be as efficient as possible, wouldnt you do the same? Or do you enjoy being lazy and procrastinating
@@NootCS I understand UA-cam but there’s a certain point when you are able to make 15-20 minute videos with actual content instead of their New York series loaded with no action and cliff hangers, they over stretched the trip and made it boring and annoying because I had to wait a week to see one fish get caught then wait another week for another.
Yes, I agree
@@treygulley I agree with you. A fish a week won’t keep me following
Comments like these, make me puke. Good thing I'm already on the toilet.
What's the difference in making 6 ten minute long videos, or a single 1 hr video???
People will watch, a 10 minute video, while they take a dump. I can't sit here, for a whole hour, bro.
Googans biggest problem is that they don’t make down sized versions of some of their lures
If you're looking for a small swimbait googan makes a snacky swimmer that's 2 inches
@@rutiacotheyuty3045the revolver is too big for most of the bass in my area. There needs to be a smaller version
And a lot of stores replaced the other brands and stuff I liked with all googan stuff
@@Neogaabothere is a smaller version called the mini revolver and I got it yesterday in the mail and caught 3, 2 pounders in my first 30 minutes of using it at a pond . If that didn’t make me a believer of this lure idk what will.
@@NOAHMILLERTHAGOD I just bought it like a month ago lol
I think Googan has a customer base with the younger crowd, like ages 18 and under. I swear every time I’m in academy or sportsman’s warehouse, there’s some kid looking at all their rods or baits.
I can confirm that I am one of those kids, but hey I caught a five pounder on their craw and it was rigged wrong.
Their Rods are pretty good though at least in my experience
I’m under 18 and I’m one of the people that hates on googan. The rods aren’t horrible from what I’ve heard and when they kinda got really popular I got some to see the hype, their jigs aren’t bad, but the frogs have such hard plastic that even with a hard hookset you have no hookup ratio so I wouldn’t get them. Their soft plastics on the other hand…are absolute garbage, they will get a couple of bites but break after one fish and always get ripped up, I just feel like if you’re gonna get soft plastics get cheaper ones that work and are durable like strike king rage craws and zoom baits
Their stuff just seems gimmicky, off brand. Signature Dick's Sporting Goods gear.
They are 100% marketed for the younger audience getting into fishing. The image the name the videos it’s all aimed towards the younger generation.why grown men get their panties in a bunch over Googan is beyond me step up from Googan is 6senths just marketed for the 20yr-30yr plus old audience
I love googan soft plastics especially the krackin craw. But they rip sooooo easy
Agreed. I go through packs like crazy
Bio spawn has similar products but are way more durable
@@Lockmart556 bio spawn is 🚮
There's nothing special about there designs!
Most other plastic bait companies sell comparable if not the original designs of those baits, so why Googan?
Younger people fall into the hype from those guys, which is understandable!
That is the only reason!
Use o rings
Most people hate it cuz it’s double the price of the brands that actually have been known to work for many years
just kinda over priced for what they are imo i can go out and catch the same amount of fish with bargain spinners and frogs so ain’t no way you’re catching me pay 10 bucks for 1 frog
Their soft plastics are pretty pricey, but in the long run a good frog can last hundreds of fish
Yup, its overpriced, mass produced crap. There are many other mass production companies that are better and cheaper.
The cheapest frog cabelas sells is $10, livetargets are 19.99. You always pay 10 bucks from frogs
@@TitanBeatsexactly unless is the Walmart special with the worst hooks you’ve ever seen lol
@@Discgolf_RD oh yea, walmart specials aren't even worth looking at XD
The prop part that spins, the tip of the plastic snapped off the first smallie I hooked up on. No rocks around.
I think googan massively overprice themselves preying on kids that are just starting out fishing, they sell a 90$ backpack and say it helps you catch more fish
Ollie's and Big Lots usually have plenty of Googan at proper prices
It’s all just advertisement and expensive
I call bull
All the googan guys are tools.
Tell me you’ve never used any without telling me. Keep those Yum Dingers to yourself bro😭
looks like a cool lure, unfortunately googan squad targets catching the fisherman, not the fish, that is why the younger fishing crowd go's Crazy for them
This is accurate. Lots of bling to be swanky surrounds all their products, where I catch most fish on senkos or other worms that come in a heavy plastic ziplock bag with generic labels lol
But have you actually tried them they work alot of there lures are overpriced and mid but some like the slim shake are really good
Gotta admit, we were young once and we need younger gen to keep the sport alive. Better them fishing then getting F'd up or worse.
I got one fish on the revolver and now it spins in circles…
Some products are defective from the get go. My buddy got a whopper plopper and it worked for one cast and doesn't spin any more.
It's a cool design because the propeller is in front of the hooks, helps knock floating grass away from the hooks. One of my biggest gripes with the Choppo and Plopper.
Bought a similar bass pro shops product 2 years before googan came out with the revolver
Yup. They are known for ripping their designs off smaller companies.
@@Meat_smugglerbass pro shop is not a damn small company
I love all of them honestly. I caught my pb recently (5.5lbs) on a whopper plopper 75 so right now that’s my favorite of the 3 😁
My topwater PB is also on the whopper plopper 75 (5lbs 7oz)
my pb was also on the whopper plopper 75, 4.7 lbs not to big but still my best
Whopper plopper is different bait company
Same....caught my pb of 7lbs on a whopper plopper 75 blue. They work.
@@jasonleet1288 he’s got you beat by an ounce lol. Nice catch both of you tho
No hate here, my only expo with their lures is a rattling ned worm that I found and a small square Bill crankbait that I also found. The ned worm caught numerous fish before eventually losing the rattle and tearing in half and the square bill works great in my BFS setup when fished around shallow wood.
Tip for the Whopper plopper when it is not plopping much put your rod a little higher for a few seconds while reeling it in hope it helps
I love the lures just hate the plastics
i’ve caught so many 3-5lbers on the black revolver and even a 8+, it’s the best top water IMO
I've used the whopper plopper and the revolver and I found that the prop doesn't rotate as freely/well on the revolver as it does on the whopper plopper
One of my problems with it was that aswell. It would spin fine if I sped the retrieve up but if I tried to slow my retrieve down it wouldn’t spin and just scoop water
I wouldn’t know because I’m not spending $20+ on a single lure.
@@psilocypher get your bread up
I love the revolver I've actually just started fishing them and I have caught bass on ever outting at least one being four pounds
I understand why some people don’t like Googan, but I love there stuff especially there soft plastics
can someone explain why they are looked down upon? i dont quite understand the tackle politics
@@andrewmeyer169 They charge extreme prices for something made in china and are very annoying with the advertising
@@themailman9686 i honestly didnt even know they were chinese until the comment section. i guess i havent started looking at what countries my fishing gear is made in. thanks👍
@@andrewmeyer169 because people think they are too expensive and can get the same thing but cheaper and more quantity
@@andrewmeyer169 it's because they target children and inexperienced fisherman to sell their products to. They don't come off as good guys, just money hungry scumbags.
That's an interesting point made, thanks for sharing your view on this lure.
If the Choppo is above the 75 size I won’t throw it unless I up-size the hooks to a size two treble the fish swipe at the bigger Choppo’s and miss the hooks due to being a mile apart from each other which is why a giant treble works better
Ive not used the revolver, but I love their 3/8 buzz bait in black and blue. It's won me some cash in the last 2 years! They've got some really good plastic baits.
I love using the choppo
I caught someone's line that was snapped in a lake and got a brand new looking Choppo 90 in shad colors. Best catch ever.
The only thing I own a pile of that’s googan, is bandito bugs, krackin craws and there jigs. They have some great jigs for HEAVY laydowns and cover
I highly recommend the rattlin ned,I have caught about 4 different species so far on them and they are also soft plastics but so far they have held up better than some Ned's I have used. They are also segmented so I like to fish them cast and retrieve style.they a lil pricey but do last long 👍🏿
i've yet to catch anything on my wopperploppers .. and i've used them in some of my best spots loaded with bass and catfish.. never so much as a single srtike one yet .
I’ve never caught a fish on the revolver
I went through 5 revolvers in about a month. Paddle kept breaking off. I loved how it fished but whopper ploppers flexible blade is much more durable
What the hell were you doing? Bouncing it off riprap?
The revolver is my favorite top water lure tbh
The lipless cranks are nice…haven’t used it much but it’s caught fish so I can’t complain…came in one of the mystery tackle boxes…
I don't necessarily hate their lures , it's just I get cheaper lures that are just as effective
Love these short informative videos!
I use only googan soft plastics and love them. I’ve caught tons of fish on them. There are only two problems I have with them. The plastic is a little on the softer side so the durability isn’t as good and they are pretty pricey, but they are great fish catchers
They are not bad fish catchers, but there are so many same quality lures that cost way less. The only reason I could see using googan is if you really want to support them
Use Yamamotos instead. Z
I’ve broken so many of the Googan Revolvers but I will never stop buying them. For me, I’ve hooked huge bass with them more often than any other plopper. Can’t beat that revolver sound
Just buy a whopper plopper. Much better lure , hooks, and durability. Plus they come in multiple sizes and are made by a great company river2sea. Unlike the GOON squad junk that you literally said you've broken "so many" my whopper ploppers have smashed off of rocks, bridges , still perfect. Just loses paint no biggie. Revolver is a cheap garbage knockoff
1000% facts. Not much of a googan guy anymore but the revolver is money
Googan is for simps….except the bandito big lol
I love the damn bandito bug. My only complaint is it's only good for like 2 damn fish. I dont think I've ever caught more than 3 without having to get a new one.
I was going to say the bandito bug is great
Mondo worm is great also!
Mine fell apart it a few casts. I like their jigs and spinner baits, the hooks they use are razor sharp but I’ve had numerous lures start separating
The one product I stand by is the Rattlin Ned. I’ve got 3 colors of them, and the bass around me eat them up
No hate from me on the lures, PB LMB on a bandito bug, PB walleye on a scout, PB northern on a Klutch... I think the issue I have is sub par split rings and hooks....and you know I change those out on 90% of my baits not just theirs So no hate just head shaking at times.
The fin when spinning blocks the weeds from getting cot
Googan revolver is good. The only one I have is huge,so I use it less than my others but I've certainly caught fish on it and I've certainly had issues use stuff (mostly pine needles) jamming my choppos prop up.
There was a famous batemaker his name was Bob he made musket Louis. He made a bucktail that was kind of similar design. He had to hook up front and the spinners on the back because they glided right through the weeds... Glad to see that same kind of. Ingenuity.
My first time using whopper plopper yesterday and was nailing little tanks in under a foot of water 👍
I like how you answer you own question, yes you still had some negative experiences with googan, but some people won’t give them that 2nd chance. Some products are just confident baits that people throw and know won’t give them issues. I like googan because they’re constantly innovating old techniques/technology to kinda like refresh them. Same concept and use, just maybe slightly different actions, colors, and profiles.
They don't need a second chance. Once the crank pattent got blocked you know what kind of shady company they are and the backer catch co
I’ve tried to give googan hard baits so many chances, but they always perform worse then their cheaper counterparts. Except for a googan swim jig I have, it’s the only one that’s caught me a fish. A free janky buzzbait I found in a tree out performed the sideways running Hummer. The Revolver always sits weird in the water and almost wants to dive or wake. I havnt tried any of their soft plastics but none of their hard baits that I’ve tried seem to even run correctly.
Always loved Choppo, but I have to try the revolver!
Idk about catching less weeds, but it’ll catch more fish. The competitors props are at the end of the bait, only allowing the most access to one hook, the revolver propeller is in front of all of the hooks allowing access to the entire bait
My only problem with googan is the blades rust easy
I just wanted to say thank you because I got one of the moon walkers you have been recommending in your videos and I Just caught my PB bass at 3.43 LBs. it was a small mouth and I’m from NJ so that’s big for me.
It was also within the first hour of me using it for the first time
It’s not just that it catches less. But bc the prop is in the middle it makes it so even if it does catch a lil weeds it still keeps it’s action unlike the other ploppers. Plus it just always makes noise and sounds better and works where as the others just seem to be weird sometimes
I wont ever pay for googan soft baits because every single pack I've had, they tear way too easy, and they aren't cheap either
Yup. I buy a brand called nawaish if i want senkos havent changed since i found em.
@@chaitern6075 I just buy yum cuz they're dirt cheap so if they break oh well, I got a pack of 100 for $20😂
Hit up Ollie's. There 1.99 a pack for googan stuff. But I agree, there soft.. and tend to tear easily.
I like googan things, but I absolutely hate the revolver, it spins weird and breaks easily
I’ve never had any issue with Googan baits. I love their soft plastics and hard baits. Yeah they can be a bit pricey on certain things but I think in comparison to other brands it’s just competative
Googan soft plastics rip to easy tho I can get more fish on a zoom fluke or a brush hawg whereas googan either rips after a fish or 2. plus googan is $5 for a pack of like 8 while zoom is only $4 for 12
@@tcfishing1591 zoom last me like one or two fish. That’s why I stopped buying them. 😂 googan last longer but not my go to.
Just caught a 6 pounder with it about 4 days ago after originally thinking it was really bad its very versatile because yes it catches less weeds and it creates a better sound imo as well as being able to go at slower speeds while still having good action compared to the whopper plopper but they are still both good
The Revolver twists WAAAAYYY more than the choppi or whopper plopper in my experience, even with adding a swivel.
My main problem is price and they dont have many down sized lures of other tupes
I like the choppo better than the plopper because of the hard plastic tail. Might have to try the revolver
The revolver breaks because the choppy part is hard plastic, unlike its competitors
I think the choppo is the far superior product. The revolver breaks way too easily.
I don’t have much experience with googan lures, but in my opinion their soft plastics can’t be beat, especially the Bandito Bug. Every region and water body is different, and everyone has different preferences, but in my experience fishing northern New England, absolutely nothing catches fish more consistently than a green pumpkin Googan Bandito Bug on a weightless T-rig. Idk enough about fish biology/psychology to explain it, I just know that I rarely ever toss a Bandito Bug in the water without at least getting a bite.
I love googan the jerk bait is killer when hooks are added. Actually makes it a slow sinking instead of suspending. The dart is killer and same with the jigs and bandito bug and nice swimbaits. Keitech, rapala, googan, 13 fishing, plus spro cranks is what you’ll find in my boat. And I have a no complaints. I like catching fish. Who cares if you have to change soft plastics more often if you’re catching more fish.
I just ordered the revolver in black. But googan baits in general are 50/50 there hard baits are great but there soft plastics catch fish but just fall off the hook
Googan is a genuinely good brand . Its the fan boys behind it all that people hate😭
Personally I’ve tried almost every googan jig, spinnerbait, revolver, crankbait, and soft plastic, not one issue ever
The prop on my googan revolver broke because it's made from a cheap hard plastic so I think I'll be sticking to the whopper plopper that has a soft plastic prop that won't break off. I love googan just not a fan of the revolver.
I used to avoid everything they made because It was just initially to overpriced. I have ended up trying the bandito bugs, mondo worms and their spinnerbait now that you can find them on sale for a few bucks most of the time. On sale, the price point is where it should've been for 1 and done soft plastics. I do like how they use clam packs and the zinger has done ok for me in the late winter/spring
Mach patroller is my favorite plopper
I think The Drunken Mullet is the best of the plopper style baits so far. The Yozurhi one is also a contender but it is a much more finesse version and isn't as loud or obnoxious.
The googan revolver I had broke in two cast. The plop thingy snapped. The og whopper plopper is better cause it’s a soft plastic type plop and it won’t break.
I like the little googan gear, 1/16th jigs and underspin with those awesome little paddle tails, you definitely get your money’s worth or action compared to other little soft plastics.
Googan hard baits, no problem with but the soft plastics are honestly very expensive for what they are
I love their soft plastics but I buy huge, chatterbaits, buzzbaits, and spinnerbaits locally tied at my store. They are sturdier and slot cheaper
I honestly hate the revolver. The Berkeley Chapo is undefeated though
Idk why they say googan is bad, yeah there sometimes is a problem but honestly still works pretty well
People complain about price and durability of googan soft plastics but buy senkos that dont even come in a clam shell, are softer and are more expensive. Make it make sense.
I love the revolver too! I also found that when I’m ripping a whopper across the water I sometimes get short strikes but never with the revolver and I think it’s because of the position of the prop!
I love the revolver I’ve caught many fish on them but I’ve had 2 break on me but atleast they are cheaper than most
I love your content I literally just got back from deep sea fishing
I love whopper poppers but the floodwaters I live on is loaded with vegetation. Hard to fish anything after about June without cleaning off your bait after every cast. Milfoil being the biggest villain for tangling up my bait. The top water fishing is great though, so I battle through it. I'm always looking for ways to go weedless. Or at least more weedless.
Everything always depends on what you’re using and most importantly where you are at!
Ghost Gill Jr scout goes insane for pike
Fished the revolver this week and had to order 4 more. I love it
I use the revolver and love it ! I was spectacle at first. Everytime I use it. I catch a fish
Their crank baits are my all time favorite tbh. They are perfectly weighted and have the right amount of wobble to rattle ratio. Other lipless cranks I’ve used wobble so much they will swim sideways. I also like some of their soft plastics and performance wear. The only thing I don’t like about it all is the price.
If a crank swims sideways you need to tune it.
Googan is a lot of marketing and very annoying fishing influencers for pretty mediocre baits. Most cheap alternatives will catch the same amount of fish and hold up just as well.
I’ve accidentally slammed my choppo against a lot of stuff. Still holding up strong. And usually I try to only use it after a good wind has come through and moved all the debris to the edges. And the choppo is loud as hell so I love it.
The fin on the part that spins will break so easily it needs to be flexible not hard plastic
Googoo boo boo. Only thing I use is the saucy because keitechs are a bit expensive. Hopefully Chris Zaldain going to googan will produce something good.
Bro, I used to hate anything too water because I’ve never been good at top water!! Or even really fished it besides frogs..
first time fishing the revolver/ choppo type bait was last week at night.. 😭 omg talking about absolute slay!!
I think the plopper I'm the middle ups the chance of a fish getting either front or back hook.
Googan in general targets youth and inexperienced anglers across all platforms. Googan baits are generally cheep knockoffs yet in some cases charge more for the original product they are copies of.
Googan lure are great, maybe a little bit pricey and some kinda seem like they went form over funtion, but for the most part they work great, at least all the ones ive used
I basically only use the bandito bug and the revolver
Googan is like any other bait. People naturally have hate no matter what. I use googan and any other lure that works or I think will work.
Googan frog is also better then most frogs because of its better material
I mean I've never heard of em so I can't knock em, but all lures soft or hard are essentially a great potential waste of money or not.
I have lures that haven't gotten one bite in twenty years I paid for, meanwhile the sunbleached rattle bait I found on the lake shore gets hit after hit.
I won't even waste my money on US made baits now that I'm pretty much limited to fishing rivers that have ten new snags in a spot every day you come back, because I might as well just throw em in the water right in the package at the rate I lose em.
I've waisted money on their products and I've yet to catch anything on them
