In a vintage second hand shop I found a burgundy velvet cross between a smoking jacket and loose coat, and it has been my winter party outfit and had nothing but 'Wow' complements. It also has Dynasty padded shoulders, so is a bit like a dressing up box outfit. But I do think if you wear something outrageous and silently think 'I look a stunner' - you possibly do? It's a laugh, anyway. Not overly fond of silver shoes, but love gold shoes, and gold lame.
I have always had a pair of silver & gold shoes & small silver or gold handbags whether they are in fashion or not......they have always been a pop of glam. I have always owned velvet whether on trend or not ..same with classic "office wear".....it all boils down to which combination of items with what... Same with eyewear...finally settled on a pair of Classic Ray Ban Wayfarer frames for myself using my prescription progressive lens in Transition glass-Indoor/Outdoor glasses; Wayfarer always in style since 1952 & the Aviators since 1937!!! I've collected them in every style imaginable, though I particularly adore them for evening outings. And velvet-well, it's my absolute favorite, especially living in London. Silver heels or sneakers are my favorite trend... all the way so 90s. I also love the Bohemian dress over jeans or pants I love, not so sure of the skirt however. I adore velvet that's something I never knew would go out of style ever.

I love silver shoes. They go with everything in my wardrobe. I have silver platform Converse high tops, silver kitten heels, silver low top sneakers, and silver platform oxfords / brogues. Also obsessed with stripes! Love the grey jeans and have been wanting some for years. Maybe I can find some that work! Also love idea of the hoodie and blazer, but I have big upper arms and it's really hard to layer pieces like that. I go for the hoodie and structured coat look when I can. So fab! Oh yeah and socks and sandals are a total jam!! I just don't wear heels so I can't really do that one, but I love to admire it. Fun socks are always a win!!!

I wonder if you might be able to do more videos that address the needs of women over 50 who are struggling with weight in the middle. It is hard for us to find clothes that look good because we are perhaps so round that there is no "line" to work with. Merci!

I love the white shirts and vertical stripes (not too bold though!). I didn’t do socks with dress shoes or any kind of sandals but remember that in the 90’s. I think I remember Madonna wearing that! Im 63 and you speak of dressing one’s age and that looks so juvenile-fine for high school and college aged girls maybe. Skirts over pants. I remember seeing that on the runway but I never saw anyone wearing that look wear I lived. It reminds me of those people that live on the street and they wear everything they own at one time …🫣 it’s a hard no for me then and now! Awful in general and completely UNflattering. I think one’s clothes should make one look their best or make the most of what one has as long as it is appropriate (not too revealing/“sexy.” I love velvet and velour-similar looking but totally different fabrics. Oh my I love the red! I would wear red pants or dress but wouldn’t want to overdo it. I love the red accessories, aka “pop” of color such as handbag, shoes or scarf. I’m not into too much “oversized” anything -not flattering on ME. We mature ladies have to consider the frumpy factor and cardigans and socks with dress shoes and oversized clothing looks frumpy. Well maybe because I’m a rugby fan and I know it will be hugely popular in Australia/NZ foe weekend wear, it’s a thumbs up for me. But I heard polo shirts are going to be popular. There should be some smart ones around for casual wear. Yay. A nice change from boring necklines. They look cute either way preppy shorter skirts but I think skirts are longer this season so I would hold onto them or wear them with jeans or tailored shorts.
I adored the 70s. I was in my 20s and before vanity sizing I could find clothing that fit my slim petite frame. I had a moss green velvet blazer which I loved. The nineties oversized clothing was never my style. I have a pair of silver mid heel pumps and so glad they are in style. I have a red coat, red and burgundy sweaters and purses.
Dallas is wonderful. The people aren’t snarky, there’s lots of incredible southwestern healthy tasty food I haven’t found in NYC. Fashion is alive and well there. Congratulations on your invitation to the event!
