I think the beauty of bonsai is that you get to see everyone's own style of work, if everyone's style was the same it would be boring, plus it's your trees so you can do what you want with it.

dad has been saying to be ready for November. i will start cuting & shaping his pines!
i'm hoping he will let me have Carte Blanche to cut and shape as "I" see the beauty.
who knows... he'll probably tell me i'm wrong and not traditional, but...??? if not, i will like a bird set free to fly free with "My Concepts"!!
beauty is in the eyes of the beholder!!

What an interesting video you made! thanks for the update.
i'm also starting to have this mentality that if i want drastic trees, i need to make a drastic cut

    Great video.
Would you potentially be open to creating a comprehensive video on branching?
Like, is there more to it than just following the basic bonsai branching rules, cutting to shape, and using a little intuition as to how the specific tree will react and grow?

      Yes! I will.
I learn a lot buy doing these videos because I have to think through things to explain. I finally know why I did what I did to pine. Give to get!
Please stay tuned and tell a friend about our channel.
      Thanks!

it might be useful to include some sort of overlaying graphic of the brachiation you envision, and maybe the changes you make as you go on. It could be just some simple stick figure overlay. You include a lot of nice graphics in your videos and I bet that wouldn’t be hard for you and your team.

I liked what you did with the first pine, I have a kotobuki pine and I plan to do pretty much the same thing, but I want the trunk to be a little thicker, so I haven't cut the top off yet.

    • @MiltonChang-ee6rq
      @MiltonChang-ee6rq День тому

Great approach.... The more branch you keep the faster the trunk thickens and tapers...can always make redundant branch into jin.

You could also hollow out and carve the bottom of the branch or trunk and use a large wire to bend the trunk or branch

I would like to add a small suggestion for the videos. I don’t know if the bird sounds are added during editing but if they are can the volume be reduced. On many of the videos the bird sounds become a distraction. I am very sorry for this comment because it is not positive but I enjoy the content very much and thank you for sharing.

devils advocate I guess but you are pretty brutal to them. Theres a person inside of us that actually hates plants in a way... or how else could anyone actually do bonsai. Just as a sculpture chips away stone or potter molds clay. You have t beat the tar out of it. Its a war with nature but also we bow to our opponent and respect its power.

bonsai is violence, not petting kittens. lol
