If u can find an 04 HRC cam or complete kit. U wont believe how much more power it has from half throttle and up. Makes those 04s real monsters
Making 63hp on mine with an Hrc cam and a lot of other shit done lol

I miss my TRX450! Loved that quad. Did everything great. Plus 2 a arms and longer axle by an inch with itp hole shots all the way around. Steering stabilizer and smaller sprocket in front with header and pipe is all it needed to be an absolute unit

im pretty similiar on my yfz450 just went with maxxis rzrs for tires instead
pro tip to really clean it. hot rims chrome wheel cleaner will make the motor plus anything metal look new. LA's totally awesome cleaner for a 1$ will clean plastics and remove stuck on mud.
I think this on is def a keeper. Looks good man definitely a great deal for that machine 👍🏻
Beautiful stuff in this video. When you first fired up at your folks place, I was able to hear my 2 favorites passions at one location. Gun shots (target shooting) and a ripping quad.

Hey bud ...loving the videos. If you wet sand those plastics with a high grit sandpaper then lightly hit them with a torch, its takes a lot of the scratches out. When you torch them it brings the shine back. I was kind of hesitant to try it myself but it really does work.
I didnt make it 5 minutes in, and you blew a shit load of dust and dirt right into that intake. I cannot believe that thing runs lol.
Its time fer you and chuck to go down to Winebago and have an ice-a-palooza run on the quads ... assuming the ice is good now ....

You might have to keep her with the Tecate cuz she’s got a little pep in her step switch the plastics so it has actual fenders in the front

What did you use to clean up the plastics looks pretty good on top someone spray-painted mine that’s why I want to put them back original red
That is a nice ride the only thing I don't like is the kick start because sometimes your leg can be tired so the one I like is the button with the electric start and the only thing it's missing is a taillight
You gotta rotate the back wheels side to side so that the tires are going the right direction

Your tensioner didn't have a spring to keep the chain tight?? That bike sounds great. Been working this 2004 Yamaha Bruin 350 and the valves are a night mare. I've got the bike to crank up, but I have smoke coming from half way in the exhaust pipe and the bike always wants to die after throttling up in neutral...any thoughts
that hole is there for a safety flag. so if you were to take it to a ATV park like silver lake sand dunes in M Michigan. you have to have a 10' flag bolted to your Quad to be permitted to ride there.!

There's an idle screw you can turn by hand rather than adjusting the throttle cable. It's on the other side.

Good job. Place anodized lever in plastic bag with oven cleaner for a couple of hours, strips anodizing back to aluminum.

@@2vintage I did this on a ASV lever ( KTM) orange, it worked wonders removing the anodizing, a couple of small areas near the pivot point needed a little help with an old toothbrush. 👍🏍🇬🇧

Yfz450r has way better suspension setup top of the line for sure, but 04-05 kick start 450r is the rawest racing fourwheeler on the market. I’ve owned couple of yfz’s and few kickstart 450r so trust me i know💯‼️

Install a temp gauge in the radiator line that goes to the motor. Easy mod to help read its temp at all times 👍🏻

Asv dosnt make the o4/o5 brake leaver any more. If you by one for 04/05 its actually get a 06 up in the box. A friend just went through this with his after ordering 3 times we just cut the tab off the leaver that makes it work on o6

You'll want some titanium heat tape for that pipe. I melted pants without a heat shield. That tape made a big difference.
You did an amazing job on the quad. It was junk, and you saved it. Get yourself an air stapler, you will never use a manual staple gun again. GREAT JOB!

Hey man, hope you see this. I bought a 08 450r just like this one. It runs and rides, cold starts and everything good. When I get going full throttle it can bog out at times. Feels like you're going up a gear in 4th gear on straight stretches. Other times it can be fine. Think it is a carb issue? You seem knowlegable about these bikes. Thanks in advance.

Told ya that first black one you had, the motor was hurt it should have ben way faster, like this one is. Try and get a 08-09 special edition yfz 450r. There very fast, very smooth,handle like a cloud, and are very! Reliable as are the Honda 450r

It's really high quality. The material is very thick. It's not too gripy.

Buy some SC1 for the plastics think will look mint
will still shwo some of the fading. DTP from kansas hydropgraphics is fantastic. sprays directly to molded plastics like so without cracking as it has flex agents in the paint already
I bought one of these when they first came out (04) and in stock form it was a dog but hrc cam 480 big bore high comp. piston and an fcr carb and esr pipe then it was hard to beat . But still never handled like my 250R
250R? Sayin TRX250R 2- smoker? They were great. My '10 YFZ250R cuts a mean line I tell ya! 4hrs on it been in storage 6yrs. Wouldn't sell it for $8k ! It's showroom clean.
