🤔 …I’d rather get the Jinbao’s Predaking and Bruticus to my son for almost half the price and for the same price include Devastator with the upgrade kit!!! 👍🏼
@@johnj.doublej8721 Half? More like 1/10 the price lol. The Jinbao oversized pieces are like $150 each, maybe $200 massively overpaying on the aftermarket. You could buy all three of the ones you listed and probably add in the Zetatoys Superion and it'd STILL be slightly cheaper than the full set of FT Superion. I'm sure FT has some great materials and build but their prices are pretty bonkers.
Oh Boo! I thought this was Live stream lol. I was gonna comment "HERE COMES A NEW CHALLENGER.!" from SF2 lol. Even though i was never in on this set nor the FT Stunticons set anymore,im just glad to finally see it all come together.👍
Glad to finally have my full Ethereaon set completed, and what a trip it's been these last 5 / 6 years with FansToys. Thanks to TMR for sticking with this (and us) on the journey to FT's first completed combiner, and now bring on Maurader!
As someone who has been tempted to get FT aerialbots multiple times over the years this set took to be completed, i'm just happy those that got him are finally able to close this chapter fully. I will say it's a bit uninteresting that Silverbolt does nothing for the combiner, having him just fold into a block and store in the combiner body's chest feels a little cheap imo. Great looking set though!
Yeah but realistically there wasn't much Silverbolt can do since he needs to be way bigger to be the torso and legs. With combiner major compromise needs to be taken
@@brianpavlina8638 MMC only does combiners that don't parts-form? So no MMC's combiner leaders do not "turn into a box and get put into the back of the combiner". If you're going to give a rebuttal at least check your facts first. Also it's my opinion? I don't like zeta's and dx9's combiners because they did exactly that, so why would FT garner a different opinion from me? It's completely lazy engineering in my eyes, and if the only way to get that perfect cartoon aesthetic is to completely forego creativity and function, then I personally don't think it's worth it. I might as well buy a hollowed out figure that looks like superion and fit the aerialbots within the space of the husk like a jigsaw puzzle.
@@bujindork this is true, I just wished they could have done more with their silverbolt that didn't end up with him turning into a cube just to slot into the combiner piece. At least make him become a jetpack or something interesting. That's my personal take on it at least. Oh well not really something i'll lose sleep over, FT priced me out of this set a long time ago since I didn't get on board when the first release happened. The reissues were priced higher than I could justify so I just sat this one out
I'm really impressed by the feet and knee articulation, but disappointed in the shoulders'. Overall, it's definitely an impressive, first Combiner from FansToys for sure.
I gotta say, using the limb bots heads in the combined mode is a really nice throwback to the original gestaltz from the 80s. There really are a ton of great options for the Aerialbots with Fanstoys, Zeta and the Dreamstar if you want a really stylized one. Not even mentioning all the legends scales or mini versions. I really wish we could get a little love for Defensor and Computron.
Wow, looks amazing! But goodness gracious, can't afford this. Have to wait for Hasbro/Takara version in the next couple of years. If it's anything like the Menasor they did, I'll be very satisfied.
Really good review. I will say that I think Superion is one of the smaller more slinder combiners. So I would have to disagree that zeta is undersized. I think the size on this one works as well for displaying in combined mode. Thanks again!!
Do you have any tips for removing the foot parts from the leg bots? I missed the step about collapsing that slider part between the legs on Skydive/Goose and pegged the foot into the front first and can not to save my life get those two pegs to come back out so I can go back and redo things properly.
Side by Side with Zeta Superion. I do like the Zeta, BUT agree the FT is Superior. FT definitely has that HEROIC Look, wide chest and shoulders. Be curious if Zeta could rework their Parts Forming Chest and do likewise, along with some metallic paint to up the WoW! Factor, and it could easily Run with FT. The Metallic Bruticus is nice. Real Nice looking and looks great beside the FT Superion. Thanks for the Review. Spot on.
I'll stick with Zeta for Superion but these are great looking bots, so they'll be my Aerialbots for sure! Going opposite for Menasor though (FT Ox Menasor all the way), DX9 for bots... youth version Xtransbots for cars 😅
Awesome video! One thing i noticed. You forgot to show the leg collapse at the hips for jester. You didn't have his hips extended for robot mode at the start so I was racking my brain trying to figure out why the intakes were not lining up with the tabs and that was why.
It looks damn cool but I'm on the fence honestly. I've been collecting the MMC Combaticons and Protectabots and I know they'll scale smaller than these so I'm not sure if I should wait in case MMC does their own version or not.
Great review! I noticed you skipped the FansToys Jester review. Are you going back to do it at some point, including a comparison video between Jester and Zeta Toys Catapult?
I expected Air Raid to be the weakest link... I wasn't super happy with the toy. The robot portions were fine, but the kibbly backpack is just EXTREMELY fidgety, and from this review it seems even worse in combined mode. Maybe Fans Toys can give us a redo for this character... I mean, I own both of their Seasprays. :D The stability doesn't seem too bad all things considered... Anyway, I ultimately bought this set because I liked the individual toys so much... Not a huge fan of the parts forming, but it's not too bad here, and now I'm just waiting for Slingshot. I'm preferring the MMC approach _overall_ at this point. Especially since the latest reissues for the Assaultus set have fixed the stability issues (I have the latest reissue and even with my cats semi regularly brushing against it, it hasn't fallen or significantly changed its stance/pose). But I digress. And finally... I suspect Menasor will turn out better... Because so far, I've been pretty happy with ALL the Fans Toys stunticons released so far... (other than Motor Master's tendency to get stress marks with the tabs needed to put the trailer together)
Yeah air raid is definitely the weakest, but it still works as a limb, Stability isn't an issue, just balance with the weight, I tried for some crazy poses and couldn't achieve them but normal poses work fine,
Are people really saying he's too tall? People just say anything. 😂 He's the same height as the zeta basically. They're height difference is not substantial at all.
