How much time does 1 cycle of freeze drying take? 2 Hours?

I am buying a freeze dryer tomorrow or the next day. Do all of you here recommend harvest right? I keep hearing they break a lot and customer service is bad.
I just don't want yo get stuck with one that sucks.

I've had a great experience. I've had it for over a year. About 4 months in my compressor wasn't working so they just shipped me a brand new one. I have had good customer service, personally. I recommend Harvest Right (I am not sponsored by Harvest Right either)

When you say compressor do you mean the internal refrigeration compressor or the vacuum pump that sits outside the machine?
All things have issues, everything breaks eventually, I'm ok with that just wondering about everyone's experiences.
@@ZCRAIZED1I wasn't clear. It was the vacuum pump that wasn't working that they shipped to me. I haven't had any issues with the chamber or software updates.

just spoke with customer service at harvest right, we purchased a medium from big r and found that its a 4 tray and not a 5 harvest right basically said not our problem and big r said its a non refundable item, don't spend the money for bad customer service try another brand, be careful if you go harvest wrong zero careful for the average person, now if your sponsors of them all is perfect

Do you check on power usage for candy batches? I'm trying to look for info how much will it "eat up" deppending on weight of products (as some like to throw onto trays full jars of skittles, and some put only 350g on one).

You don't set a time for how long to warm the trays. You just click warm trays and wait a few minutes. I find about 10 minutes works great.
I used the same settings as yours and the process took over 5 hours, then added extra drying for 2 hours. Why ?
Probably due to humidity would be my guess

What do you do when it asks you if you want to preheat the trays
No. You’re starting with a freeze cycle. At the end of the full cycle it will ask if you want more dry time or want to hear the trays.

What about if I want to use it for something else later. Do I have to change the settings?
Yes, you can change the settings before each batch. Alternatively, when you finish a candy cycle, it will prompt you to start a new candy cycle and save the settings for you.
It worked the 1st time, but now its takin 8 hours to do each batch. Anyone know why?

No, different candies need different settings.
What setting is for nerd gummy clusters and jolly ranchers?

Didn't work. Wants to freeze for 15 then load trays, then I cancel and compressor has to equalize. Been doing same crap for over a hr now
The original 15 minutes is just to cool the drum down. That's normal. Let it do it's 15 minutes. The point is you don't need any freeze time for candy.
