Sounds great. I have an RBI coupled with a Peavey PVi2500 power amp and sounds similar. I use a Washburn T24 most part of the time. If one looks for a round bass tone, I have to say that the bass frequency of attack on the Sansamp is around 80Hertz, which gives a very punchy sound, and something like a BBE Bass preamp goes deeper around 40Hertz, a more deep and round sound. I had one of these BBE's before, it's good for clean sounds, but in my own opinion, the Sansamp RBI is better.
This is exactly the bass tone I love and I want to get. I have a mexican Fender Jazz Bass, do you think the core of the sound comes from the SansAmp or from the P/J pickup configuration? Nice bass guitar btw
@@scictt Thanks for the answer :) Have you ordered the parts from Warmoth or did you get it from someone? And to know if i understood well, the SansAmp is recorded without any cab?
@@platipuce8193 I ordered the parts from Warmoth. The body (black limba) and the pickups were part of my first build. The wenge neck came later. And yes, the SansAmp is not being run through a cab.
scictt it really doesn’t matter what amp you’re using for the most part because it is bypassing the preamp section of your power amp and you are getting the majority of your tone of the amplified signal from the Sansamp preamp and EQ. I bet you couldn’t tell the difference between a designated bass amp and a power amp for sound reinforcement, ie Crown. I use mine with a GK 800rb, TC Electronics RM 250 and a QSC power amp and they are indistinguishable as far as the tone is concerned. Sounds like a Sansamp, similar to an Ampeg SVT which is modeled after. I also use it for recording into a Scarlet USB interface and it sounds like, well, a Sansamp RBI. If you use solid state or digital amps then you can’t go wrong with that little 1U rack mounted preamp/di and I have a Demeter vtb 201 tube preamp and I honestly prefer the Sansamp for about a 10th of the price. It’s definitely not as clean and transparent but it has a great character about it and it sounds like a killer tube bass amp for all styles of music and it is really hard to beat for a rock, fusion, or anything more modern sounding. I wouldn’t consider it to be audiophile quality tone but it definitely does what I want it to quite well, and then some.

You won me at Deep purple, but sold me at 0:10!
Thanks!
Nice. I just picked up a used one and the RPM.
I like boosting sansamps with other pedals to get a more “wet” sound
Great demo!
Thanks!

Thanks! The pickups sound great even without the SansAmp. I think the woods play a role too, the bass sounds really good acoustically.

Does it sound this good through an amp
It sure does, depending on the amp of course.

This or the VT rack mount?
It's the rack mount.
Sorry. Lol I should be more specific. I meant the SansAmp RBI or the Tech 21 VT. Which would you say is the better rack mount?
@@sonofradium4835 Sorry but I don't have any experience with the Tech 21 VT.
