Been using Sansamp stuff for a long time. I’ve never been obsessed with amps because 99% of what the audience hears through the PA is going to be the DI sound. I’ve always focused on creating a good tone through a DI box. Tech 21 has always had that covered!
Yes...I have just recorded with the pedal. Dialed it in. Bass from the land of bass. Had a blast. Geddy and the Tech 21 NYC knocked it out of the park on this one.
Same here. I personally want my tone as clean as possible and then overpower the cabinet with this tone to a point of light breakup. There is no pedal or device there that can give me that sound.
Just ordered my Tech 21 Geddy Lee Sansamp preamp from Sweetwater and can’t wait to set up a great bass tone for our next gig! Sounds great on here so anxious to hear how amazing it’ll sound on stage
@@bassdude1978 so far it’s worked well, I just bought a new music man stingray bass and it sounds amazing with Tech 21 Geddy Lee Sansamp. If you want an amazing sounding bass tone this is the way to go
Jon Button should start a band with Paul Gilbert and confuse everyone. They look alike, sound alike, and kind of seem to have the same upbeat demeanor.
I wonder which one to take , Tech 21 SansAmp GED-2112 , or this same one but DI >Tech 21 SansAmp DI-2112 Geddy Lee ,, I am going straight in to the interface for recording ,,, I also have two Marshall SE 100 speaker emulators which also have the option of only pre amp direct in , speaker simulate making a line out to go directly in to the Interface or mix console
It's easy, get both. 😉 Our recommendation is to pick the form factor that is right for you. The GED-2112 and DI-2112 are designed to provide you with a complete bass sound. Tone shaping, amp and speaker emulation and DI functionality. The Marshall SE 100 provides analog speaker emulation with an external preamp or tube amp. Two very different products.
@@chrisd. Hi Chris Thx , To me it looks like the GED -2112 pre amp is meant to hook up with a power amp , so now speaker emulator I think ,, The GED DI i think has a speaker emulator ,, I have this Marshall SE100 a long time and I know its for up to 100 watt tube amp , get the line out to your mixer ,, But there is also a pre amp Input to go direct to mixer,,, I think it does not matter if its a tube pre amp or a transistor pre amp like GED 2112 ,, I can go pre amp input and emulate speaker , and out to mixer but i dont know if its good ,, I have a Rockman XPR 100 preamp ad did the pre in put in the SE100 and gone to mixer that sounded way better then using the direct out from the Rockman ( this out had also a little speaker emulation ( so i am thinking with the se 100 emulator sound better with the GED 2112 then only using the GED DI )
Can y'all show a video to properly run the 2112 into an amp? I've been dying to figure out if I'm doing this right, just to get the full potential of my GED 2112. Thank you!
Apologies for the late response. Blame it on NAMM. Your best bet would be to call or email us directly. There are various ways, so we'd need to know what you have, amp-wise, and if there's anything else in your signal chain. info@tech21nyc.com
Sorry for my cluelessness, but I have a couple questions after watching the whole video. I’m just a mediocre recreational guitar player who would like to mess around with bass at home now and then. I’m a huge rush fan, so geddy is my favorite bass player. I’m thinking of getting his signature bass and an amp so I can get at it. But it seems this thing could be used in place of an amp. Would I simply plug it in to one of my guitar speaker cabinets? I’m currently all analog, but at some point would like to get a computer set up where I could record and add drum tracks and such, and it appears this sans amp would work great going right into something like that. So I suppose my question is, would this sans amp be a good way to go for my purposes? Oh, and was does D.I. stand for? I was thinking direct input, but then from context later on I remained unsure. Thanks for any help anyone could provide, sorry for my cluelessness. I’ve just never seen a sans amp and still don’t quite understand what it does after watching the video. Awesome playing by the way, love YYZ 🤘🏻🎸
The GED-2112 is a preamp, so you can't just run it straight into a guitar speaker cab. You need a power amp to drive the speaker, and you shouldn't use a guitar speaker for bass, anyway. You can use the GED-2112 (or any SansAmp) to record tracks directly to your computer, but you'll need an interface to convert the analog signal to digital. DI stands for Direct Injection. We suggest you give our website a tour and email us directly for the best advice as to what would be most suitable for your needs: info@tech21nyc.com. Thanks!
Tech21nyc cool, thanks for your reply. I’ll check out your site. I saw the video with geddy showing the sansamp in his home studio and then this one and still didn’t really know what was up 🤦🏻♂️

Smart man
By far the very best review of this great preamp, i just ordered one 2-7-2022, this is a great sounding preamp,...........................
I love the YYZ train wreck at the beginning.... hilarious!

Everyone's video reviews put to much emphasis on the distorted sound. I want to hear more of it with clean tones.
for me the deep channel is what makes this device the most valuable for me

finally! a comprehensive demo!
Wow, awesome jam at the beginning there!
Nice jam boys
Great jam guys!
YEAH! That's what I'm talkin bout! Nice intro jam to YYZ
I got the YYZ pedal coming. More colours to paint with in terms of bass tracking or live.
Great Features !
The name of this product makes me feel like I'm never going to graduate high school
i love my sans amp Deluxe VT. recently jammed with my band without and the bass had no balls.
I'm buying one asap!
Damn guys, spot on, sick as hell!!
Thanks!!

I would love to hear an example of this Sansamp with the effects loop being used.
Video about the bass pre amp and the guitar is drowning out the bass. Well done!
Thanks for this! I have a few friends that have one. I need to get the ball rolling on one for me!

Just go into the FX loop and you’re golden

It’s a Ric 4000.

Can I use a Peavey CS 800X to power
preamp
Hey guys, is it possible to route both channels into one output so I can use them both at once?
That’s my question as well. I don’t think so, but I’m hoping so!
