I don't understand how you don't have more views...tons of good information in all your videos. Always to the point without a ton of boring fluff and overall good work being done. Subscribed hopefully this channel gains some viewers because you deserve it.
I felt so bad when I saw you got the magic eraser!! Was just about to comment that you bought the wrong one until I saw you went back! Good work! Thanks so much for the shout out!!!!!
Thanks for the suggestion that ultimately got me to try the good stuff. It was a stupid move on my part to mix up 3M with Mr. Clean. At least the dogs got to enjoy another ride in the car...
Just bought my first jet ski! A 96 Kawasaki zxi 1100, was maintained beautifully mechanically, but is a little faded and dinged and has an obnoxious amount of stickers and vinyl, I’m taking it as a challenge and a summer project and your channel is the inspiration for that!
Steve Vigus yes it is haha, it was for a very good deal that I couldn’t pass up! I’ll probably post a video of the before and after of the project, can’t wait to see how your projects keep going as well!
Hi Steve, My tip of the day for removing the old sticker adhesive. Way better than Goof Off. For many, many, many years I have used Mineral spirits. Loosens up the glue after letting it soak for about 15 minutes. The glue rolls off and does not harm painted surfaces. also, freshens up the gel coat. Mineral spirits are cheap by the gallon at the big box stores. You'll thank me later...
Hey man, since I don't have a garage and store my waverunners outside (with the cover on), buy yourself a nice sized canopy. I use mine to fit my two waverunners and I'm able to work on them in the rain and stay in the shade! Keeping the skis from the sun and getting rained on with the added protection from their covers too. Which keeps them looking like new
Challenge accepted. It's time to clean out the garage so I can work indoors. Of course if I had a canopy I could put that project off for a while. Hmmm...
Goo gone pro from Lowe’s on a magic eraser. Took about 5 swipes and all residue comes right off. Then found out using my torch over them pulled the whole sticker off all at once no residue.
Just subbed! I'm looking into getting one of these wave raiders for Lake Erie riding, hopefully your videos will help me restore it half as well as you can.
Steve, we use a product on the West Coast called GooGone to remove sticker residue when pulling graphics off auto's and boats. Dunno if you have it as well but its sold at Home Depot, Ace, & True Value hardware stores etc. Give it a try next time. It's very gentle to the underlying paint because you use a cloth to pipe it off.
Steve, the project is looking good. Are you doing any gel coat repair? I just purchased a 2003 Yamaha XLT 800 in excellent condition aside from a small area of dock rash. Any advice would be great. Keep up the good work!
So, we picked up a 1988 Waverunner 500 that has been painted with a paintbrush. Any idea if the 3M wheel will remove the paint or should I try something else?? Some of the paint has already flaked off. The Motor is in really great shape, but the outward appearance, Not So Much!
I'm new to the 3m wheel. Seems to me that you would burn up a bunch of $30 wheels to get the job done. I would probably go with some stripper but I would test it first to see if it eats the clear coat. Anybody else have experience with the eraser wheel and paint? Perhaps my sticker removal mentor, +generalhowto knows.
Hi Steve just picked up a free 1996 seadoo txt 3 seater, free is a term for a big project, like the videos and how you get everything clean before you start the repairs.
i have an old jet ski my sister bought it and the guy told her “it just needs a battery” well we go look and they spliced the battery cables into jump start cables so jump starting is the only way to get it started.. we tried and it turns over but wont fully start. any ideas?
Where do you start with this one? Could be a bazillion things. I would start with a jet ski forum and see if there's somebody nearby who can walk you throught some basic troubleshooting.
My Seadoo SP has no spark. I found my problem. After the fly wheel cones out can I use a regular timing gun or does it have to be a Seadoo special one? Great videos
Steve Vigus no one of the horses came off while I was out and started to fill the inside with water. I'm thinking the manga or whatever the name of that part is got wet and shorted out
Sounds like you have it under control. If you hit a dead end or if you want to kick around some ideas send me an email and I’ll give you my phone number.
Steve I love the video Sooo much that you inspired me to Do a Plasti Dip Jet Ski Transformation Myself. I really enjoyed doing it and I hope you see this comment and love my 1996 Plasti Dipped Yamaha Wave Runner. Thanks Mark San Antonio Texas. Just finished 2 days ago. Search you tube for I Transformed a Jet Ski into a Bumble Bee Thanks I really hope you enjoy my video as much as I loved yours. THanks
I used 2-part plumber's putty. It's the same material that was used to patch holes in the glass-bottom boat video. Easy to apply and it keeps the water out.
@@StevenVigus How did you remove the gas cap and plastic area around it once the rivets were taken out? Working on a similar project for a 96 waveraider and can't seem to figure it out
I may try that next time. Seems like I did something like that in the Custom Jet Ski Conversion to Glass Bottom Boat video. Or at least tried it. I'll have to try it next time. Thanks.
It's called jet ski restoration. Not my music or me and my dog driving to the store. Just show your work. If you had a video of you actually working. More people would watch. But you talk talk talk. And get off topic.
I happen to be rebuilding this exact same ski and going through all the problems he has. I find his comments very educational and needed. Go be a grump somewhere else

Great quality videos man! Love the friendly atmosphere. Definitely keep it up.

@@StevenVigus Hello Steven, Thanks for agreeing, I have videos on the subject. Thanks pal!
I've used the same eraser Steve and it made my life so much easier removing my old spx decals!
Honestly that thing surprised me with how well it works...

steve looking forward to next episode... btw i did get that fabric from joann's and got the seat done thanks for the video and the motivation..!!
Too cool! Hope you love it.
Do you know if there is a retrofit reverse kit available for the 1995 Waveraider?
Did you find one?

Thanks for the pointer. GooGone is good stuff!
I LOVE ALL YOUR VIDEOS THERE SO HELPFULL OK SO ONE THING TO KNOW ACERONE AND A SCOTCH PAD MAKES LIFE SO EASY
So true. It eats sticker glue and grease right up.
Bro great video! What did you use to prep and paint the handlebar rubber pad? Thanks!
Gasket remover works like a charm when removing old stickers. I dont know how its going to work with the plastic though.

Look at the thumb nail for part three.

Lance, Any inductive pickup gun will work. Doesn't matter which wire you clip it onto. Good luck!
Steve Vigus thank you
Just for fun, was the inductive pickup inside the flywheel broken off?

Thanks Robert. I might take you up on the offer.
The magic eraser helps with baked on mildew on the skis it helped me alot just not on stickers
Good pointer for those of us who tend to leave their skis outside a lot. Thanks.
Nice
Ayeeeeeeee
He owes u one !
Hope he likes the final product. It's a big change.
So hype
Buen video
I want to buy a jet ski!!!
No kidding. I checked out the new 300hp turbo charged 3 seater yesterday. Sweeeeet! But it's got to be old 2 stroked for me, at least for a while.
I’ve seen a video we’re they used the mr clean eraser on the colored plastic not the stickers and it brightened them back up
Good pointer. It worked nicely on the vinyl seat.
A pressure washer at about 3200 PSI would easily take off the oxidation, old stickers, adhesive, etc..
I may try that next time. Seems like I did something like that in the Custom Jet Ski Conversion to Glass Bottom Boat video. Or at least tried it. I'll have to try it next time. Thanks.
For the new vids

Lol did this dude literally use a whole cart for 4 sponges? 😂😂😂
Throw a bristle brush on a drill not the metal kind the plastic kind
Goof off works great Walmart for 4.99
Hi Mick from Ireland you should have used gasoline
Acetone
Use gasoline on a rag it eats the glue right off
Hack for removing old stickers steel wool
That would work. Hack for removing steel wool scratches: polishing compound.
