  • I had the HP Omen 40L.
    This is my last video about the 40L.
    Great case, great computer.
    But I wish HP will install a double AIO in the roof,
    + an exhaust fan in the back
    and a 3rd fan in the front .
    Than many more will buy the 40L!!
    Now if you buy it , you most likely need buy more fans and put in later.
    I love the case, but feel like its not a finished Pre built. It need 3 more fans !!
    either a double AIO in the roof, + 1 exhaust fan, + 1 more in front.
    or 2 fans in roof + 1 fan in front.
    I don't have the 40L anymore, so this was my goodbye video to my 40L .
    I had the version :
    Ryzen 7 5800X
    Liquid cooling
    RTX 3060 ti
    16GB ram
    600w 80 plus gold
    wifi 6
    bluetooth 5.2

    Lovely review Mr.K8, got an important question for you: Does it happen for you to have the PSU fan ramping up and stopping intermittently while on Idle? (not too loud, it only annoys me after some time) ...Just wondering if my PSU is defective

      I had a 25L, 30l, 40L and 45L HP Omens. I currently have 30L and 45L. I never heard about or experienced what you mention here. So maybe your PSU are defect. I hear my fans when i go on heavy load or if I ramp up fan speed. If not my computers are very quiet.

      @@mr.k885 I think it's something called: "semi-passive fan mode", basically fans stop to spin under 40% maximum load and start to spin over that specific percentage. I notice it the most If i keep all other fans at very low rpm while on idle and try to open some video/streams from the web simultaneously. If you keep an ear close to your PSU you'll probably notice it too. I'm going crazy trying to figure out if it's a problem or not. (Sorry if i'm wasting your time btw)

      Just tell him Mr.K8 told you to ask him.

      I would pick the 40L over the 25L any time. Much bigger case, better airflow, and a case you can keep and build in.
      Also I think the design all over is better on the 40L vs the 25L.
      In my opinion nothing to think about. Go for the 40L.

      If not the 40L, then do the 30L. Do not get the 25L, the airflow is horrible.

      @@pudgydaddy Very true. Unless you get a 25L super cheap and intend to build, by buying a new case, new fans and new PSU.
      But if you want a pre built, stay clear of the 25 L.

    How well does that 120mm aio cool your cpu under load?

    • @mr.k885
      @mr.k885  Рік тому +1

      I whish I could say. I actually never run my CPU's hard.
      What I can say is, there is a huge difference on a single and a dual AIO.
      If you really need CPU cooling, the 45L is the way to go.
      And Intel 11 and 12 gen run warmer than AMD 5000 series.
      So it depends on what CPU you use ( blue or red ) and how heavy load you run on your CPU.
      For my use the single AIO was enough.

    • @seabasswallyworld
      @seabasswallyworld Рік тому +1

      Thanks. I asked since a friend of mine bought this one with an amd ryzen 9 5900x, and that 120mm aio is totally incapable of handling it's thermal load for his use-case scenario. It regularly hits 90c and has already done an emergency overheat shutdown.

    • @mr.k885
      @mr.k885  Рік тому

      @@seabasswallyworld I Suggest in my videos about the 40L, that its smart to buy 3 fans and put in. 1 fan in front, 2 fans in roof.
      That should make the CPU cooler.
      Its room for 3 fans, and ready for it to be put in.1 fan in front = intake.
      2 fans in roof = blow out ( exhaust )By doing so, it help the AIO, so it can function better.
      In my ( old 30L ) its a single AIO, I swapped case, and put AIO in roof, but a fan next to it, and 1 exhaust fan. It do the job for me with Ryzen 7 5800X and RTX 3080.
      ( and 3 fans in front )

      If I play world of warships and not boost fans yes. If I play other games no. If I boost fans no. Thats why its so great. But it can get cooler if you put in 3 more fans. Its room and space for it so its easy to do. Just need buy 3 fans basically.

    • @michael81vandusky64
      @michael81vandusky64 2 роки тому +2

      I bought a 40L and while I knew it had only 3 fans, it's liquid cooled at 120, but I agree. I already bought the 3 extra fans which isn't a huge deal, and I had to buy 2 more sticks of RAM but honestly for a pre-built with the 3070 TI Card it came with it was not a bad deal.
      If a 45L was available I would recommend that but if all you can find is a 40L in terms of pre-builts it's top of the line for the price...the fact you can get them with 3070 TI or 3080s for under 2k with a set up you can fix for just about 120 bucks isn't bad. You can do much worse...but even stock with the 3 fans if you boost the fan speed for high performance it stays decently cool.

    • @mr.k885
      @mr.k885  2 роки тому +1

      @@michael81vandusky64 Very true. Altough over time GPU and CPU can get hotter depending on how demamnding your games / programmes are. If it get warmer its best to install 3 new fans quick.
      The case it self is same is a 45L without the Cryo Chamber.
      So its a very good case, for building, upgrade and for last long.
      And I do love the design HP have on their Omens.
      But 40L is def a good case and a good computer.
      I would have kept mine, if not for this amazing sales offer I got on my 45L.
