I am glad to see that the filthy Orcs from before were banished back to the DOS operating system and will not be heard from again, thank you my king Arthas - For The Scourge 💀
This mission is really good and if the Reforged version is anything to go by there was one guy on the team who you could tell loved it given it's the only truly "reforged" mission gameplay wise even more then the Fall of Silvermoon was. That said i wish they did more with Kel'thuzad here, as a former member of the council of six you would think that Antonidas would care more about him then Arthas
Yes I saw that Reforged has the map completely redone! Looking forward to playing it that way. Definitely agreed, the fact that Kel'Thuzad was part of the Kirin Tor should be a bigger thing here.
This is 1 of the harder missions, because of the Aura that damages every Undead, means when you enter the Aura, you'll have to bring only Arthas, Kel'Thuzad & high health units like Abominations & Frost Wyrms or you can possess Knights with Banshees
So like... is this really the best they can do? Antonidas even makes a threat... but like, why wouldn't they unleash all their power on the Undead? Why not just do it rather than threatening? Also, I'm surprised that Kel'Thuzad didn't say hello to his old colleague. It'd have been funny.
Too many moments in the Undead campaign so far have been reliant on ridiculously stupid tactics from the defenders. "Here is our plan! You better not stop it... we didn't have to tell you but now that you know search for some clues on how to overcome it!" And definitely a missed opportunity between Kel'Thuzad and his old colleagues.
@@mickcraftgaming I guess they'd not really thought the characters through fully at this point. Maybe they didn't know Kel'Thuzad was an old buddy of Antonidas? But it's true, the Undead really do just have it easy. I remember really liking the story in Warcraft 3 as a kid, but a lot of that does seem a bit like nostalgia. In some ways the greater subtlety, or requirement to fill in the blanks, of the earlier games are almost superior in terms of story.
I think Abomination would make great support hero (think all extras from tavern in FT), but thb first one you meat (heh) in Human campaign is sort of "boss encounter".
Yey, fast video releases! I'm guessing you had a bit of a break to put a few up for release. I kinda think Antonidas could've been a little better served with the dialogue he gets. Uther works brilliantly with the little screentime he gets, but Antonidas was disappointingly one-note, to the point where fighting Uther or destroying Quel'thalas feels like a tragedy is playing out, whereas Antonidas is just "eh, whatever". Even if his character is simple, some more fine grain to dialogue would've helped - at least have Arthas demand they give up the Book of Medivh only for Antonidas to piece together what the Scourge is and/or what it's trying to accomplish, but it's too late for that to matter. He feels too little like the leader of a brainiac faction and too much like a generic king dude. Also wish Kel'thuzad would've had more interaction here - after all, he's a former high-ranking Kirin Tor mage himself, having Dalaran characters remark on it or confront him in dialogue, or having Kel'thuzad himself talk of it, would've been perfect. I definitely feel you there on the "young me back in the day too slow on the push" bit. I remember losing this mission because of not being aggressive enough. Also weirdly enough I recall not making good use of frostwyrms despite the literal previous mission giving them to me, and despite them being easily my favourite Scourge unit. Instead I mostly did abomination rushes and using the cage-found units. Still got me a win, but the fun stuff you did with sniping the second mage from across the moat and doomstacking Antonidas is much better and even more amusing. P.S. Dalaran being sieged is so fun to old Blizz, they did it twice, fully canonizing it in the second go to make sure it sticks this time! :P
Yep I had enough time to crank out some videos! My son is becoming more aware and starting to play with things, which has actually made the time commitment a bit simpler. Agreed on all points about Antonidas and Kel'Thuzad - some big missed opportunities there. I think it just comes down to not fully having the characters fleshed out. I know that Warcraft 3 came out much later than they had originally hoped and even still some aspects of the campaign ended up being rushed by the development team. Apparently the original plan was for all four campaigns to have nine missions and the Human campaign ended up with the most effort put into it, which is why it's the only one with regular optional quest markers coming up and some of the other role playing elements they had planned. Yeah during my first play through 22 years ago I definitely would turtle up to a maxed out army before pushing, oftentimes losing said army and getting frustrated. Definitely a lot more aggressive with the play now. Blizzard likes finding ways to destroy Dalaran it seems! They even just blew it up again in WoW last month.
Death & Decay should mostly be used in enemy bases, but move your units away from the Death & Decay, since said spell is also considered friendly fire, which means, it can even target allies or your own units

Which is the most romantic undead structure?
The Boneyard ;)

Possessing human units would be a cool way to beat this mission!

True! It almost feels like that first meeting was designed with the hero Abomination in mind.

I did not know that it dealt damage to friendly units!
@@mickcraftgaming yes, I always avoided using it unless you enter the enemy base
You can only bring units when the Archmage that controls the Aura is killed
Each Archmage becomes tougher to get to!
