If you don't have one yet, getting a carbon monoxid detector for your hut with the furnace is definitely a good investment. It could save your life someday.
I love how unpretentious your content is. We also moved to a rural area and we pretty much are doing what you are too, collecting water, cutting grass and making our new home a home. Really love your light energy, good luck on your adventure!
🎥 This is perfect! I found your videos a couple weeks ago, watched them all, started a rewatch and now you're back! ❤ Your content is so inspiring! Thank you for sharing your journey with us. 😍 I'm a 38 year-old woman from Finland, I have my own house and I'm preparing to learn how to paint it this summer. Your attitude is very inspiring even amongst all challenges that come along. I love seeing courageous inspiring women build/fix their homes! 🥰 Wohoo, let's go! 🥳🥳
A friendly bit of advice from someone who's concerned about the environment (which you seem to care about as well), please make sure that the seeds you're planting are local species! Foreign plants and flowers can quickly become invasive species that dominate the land if given the things they need to thrive, eating up the space and resources of native plants. This can cause a large shift in both the flora of the area but also the fauna that rely on those native species. It may seem small but it can cause a really large scale domino effect, especially if you have endangered species of plants or animals in the area.
They have little portable battery jumpers that are very affordable. You should keep one with you as your battery ages, and don’t let it go past 3-4 years if really worried. Anything past that is bonus.
Dear girl you are doing great! I am near Covilhã full time. I live on grid in a house, but building a tiny garden home that I will live in full time off grid, except water, that is town water. Bht even then I intend to do water catchment from my roofs. The fire buy wood, put in a woodshed with ventilation. Ideally wood should be seasoned(dried out) 2 years, here they consider dry wood cut and not left in rain but use immediately. It won't help now but will be good in 2 years. Also, add a pipe to the top, needs to be 1 meter above top peak of roof ideally, but 1 extra length of pipe should do it. Oh and get safety glasses please! I was cleaning and got a tiny sliver of branch wood in my eye, hurt for days 3 months later the eye doctor saw the scar(I thought it was gone) almost had to have an operation. Your eyes are the lens to your paradis there. Ok enough of the bossy Aunty, you are doing an awesome job and living the dream now! ❤
Great to see you back in Portugal . I was so happy to see your post. The place looks lovely. One note…check the mixture of gas and oil on your strimmer, its making so much smoke and that is not normal but it could be the fuel was just not mixed correctly. See you in 2 weeks!
Back in your paradise, May!! This time you will be able to get things sorted out. Important would be to share occasions with friends, a good company to help when days may not be easy... All the ver best, Maya. Be following you
You inspire me so much! You are a great example of a strong and independent woman. Thank you for your videos. Your cabin and surrounding property is so beautiful.
Hi Maya it's lovely to see you back in Portugal I love watching your video's, you are very brave young lady living on your own I hope you enjoy yourself in your little bit of paradise, Take care.
You'll want to learn/hire-out chimney sweeping. Part of yearly maintenance for wood burning. Probably not a big deal with small summer fires, but if you stay over winter, you'll crank that little stove as far as it goes and risk ignition of 'creosote' [chimney fire]. Idk, that is the smallest stove I've seen and I assumed it was a coal burner.
Really enjoying season 2! Found season 1 a few months ago and watched them all. I've always planned to do the same as you and your land is so beautiful! The idea of one day switching life style and escaping to land in Portugal like yours is something I hold on to daily. All the best Dave
Dear Maya, I was s happy to see you traveling back to Portugal. When you arrived on your land and said, "It's so "beeping" beautiful!", I literally creid because your happiness was so boundless and contagious! I love your videos--they are so inspiring. Your hard work and tenacity are commendable and motivating. And you do this on your own (brava!!!), which is mind-blowing and must add a layer of difficulty both physically and emotionally to the enormity of your project. I am working on a similar dream, and I will be doing it on my own, too. I keep channeling you and your spirit as inpsiration for my own adventures. Looking forward to wathcing your next projects!! Best, MJD 👏
Welcome back Maya🎉 looking forward to the new summer and to see what you can achieve this year. Glad to see the car started 🚘 Lovely once again to see your smiling face. Tony ❤️🇬🇧 xx
Glad you are back on the land.. the place looks amazing good after so many months without care. The creek is full of water and very inviting for a swim..which you did ofcourse hahaha
Your line trimmer smoking could be a few things, but I’ll share my partner’s small engine wisdom (qualified motor mechanic and has worked on small engine power equipment for 30 + years. Dont use any petrol with ethanol added, in Aussie it’s called E10. The ethanol will evaporate and leaves a varnish inside carby. If it’s put away for a few months while you are away, tip out old fuel, put new fuel in before you try running it. If it has a choke to start, once warmed up, turn choke off, will foul the spark plug. If it’s two stroke, make sure you add the right ratio of 2stroke oil to your fuel canister. Shake it each time before you pour some into the line trimmer’s fuel tank. If you get wasps of any sort keep an eye on exhaust pipe. They love making a nest in the little pipe and block it. Ultimately if you ran it really hard and overheated, the cylinder may just be letting fuel/oil past it’s rings so exhaust is partly unburned fuel. He also tells me to run at medium or high revs. stop if you get strong grass wrapped around the drive head as it quickly puts too much load on the head and driving shaft, stop and clear the blockage. As your clearing efforts get on top of the weeds, it will be easier work. And you definitely need a chain saw, there’s even electric ones now.
Welcome Maya to your paradise in the beautiful Portugal. When you open the gates was very emotional was like l came to my house😂. I love your place and the river his amazing the sound of the water the birds singing or a beautiful place to be. Have a nice week. See you next Sunday.
Hi Maya, wishing you the best from a Portuguese from around your area living in the uk. I thought With so much water in the river you could select an area without rapids to plant watercress( agrião). I use to grow it in a brook in my land… you can buy some from the market. Lots of the times they come with roots and you can plant the roots in the river bed near the bank. Take care. Felicidades
Just found your channel! I watched all your previous videos. So impressed by your hard work and determination!!! Looking forward to watching your progress this year😄❤️🙌🏼 Watching from Rochester, New York in the USA 🇺🇸

Hello Maya, it's so nice to see you back on your land, and it looks beautiful. I'm really looking forward to your summer life here. Thank you for sharing 😊❤️
I am amazed at how much of your work stayed. I have quite a bit of overgrowth area that can grow back even as I am cutting it. I am glad to see you didn't return to a full jungle.
How lovely to see your smile pop up on my screen again! So happy to see you back on your gorgeous land and reconnecting with family and friends. The misty morning views were breathtaking. Your Easter party and chocolate surprises looked fun and delicious too!
Hi Maya I am watching with huge jealousy of your adventures, I have only a small growing field with a stream too small to swim in! Looking forward to your next adventures! Naomi (UK) xx
Mmm, looking around, on your property paradise, the stream that runs by seems big enough to use is as another potential electricity source, with some adaptations of course. Think about it!
What if you plant Creeping Thyme on the side by the stairs. They turn purple. I think that would be so pretty. And its compacted so no soil will fall over :)
Great to see your back on the land. Love to your coming vlogs and the potential on your property and your UA-cam channel. 👍😊 Much love from The Netherlands
Welcome back to Portugal! I'll keep following you in this 2nd season! I also have a little channel, a different style but perhaps you'll like it too. Regards!
Hi Maya! maya is a small bird here in the Philippines called sparrow in English... and Feliz is a Greek word means "happy" ur a happy bird exploring from Germany to Portugal.. good luck.
Maya, so geht das nicht mit der Bienenweide. Du musst erst die Grassoden wegmachen, dann Sand hinpacken, dann Kompost und Erde, danach die Samen vorsichtig einbringen und gut wässern.
If you don't have one yet, getting a carbon monoxid detector for your hut with the furnace is definitely a good investment. It could save your life someday.
Thank you algorithm for sharing this channel with me - can’t wait to follow your adventures Maya 😊
Lovely coincidence meeting your friend. The river is always my favorite amongst the beautiful features of your property.
I hope you can get electricity from river in front of you garden. Make water terbine to generate electricity.
I love how unpretentious your content is. We also moved to a rural area and we pretty much are doing what you are too, collecting water, cutting grass and making our new home a home.
Really love your light energy, good luck on your adventure!
Great to see your paradise again. We all long for springtime

Yaayyyy thank you so much, I appreciate it 🌟
Great to see you back, love your late 80’s car.
I am enjoying your story! Your approach is so calm and peaceful. Your land is beautiful.

Thank you 🤲

My favourite part about the area is the stream. Always nice to hear the blood of the land flowing.

Hi Maya, I could have spared the Gosun cooker that I have never used. You can still pick it up in Zurich if you visit.
A truly beautiful property. Your efforts are serving you well.

So jealouse of your situation! Good luck in the upcoming months!
Small word of advice: Get some earcaps for when you're using heavy machinery!
If you haven't already, you should look into getting some RM43 for keeping vegetation off areas you want to keep clear.:)
Aquela moças e sua irmã 😎😎👍👍
