This is probably the closest version I’ve heard to Williams playing!! It’s been 15 years since I touched an instrument and to be honest this video makes me want to pick up the trombone again!! Awesome video!!!
Coming from a trombonist, excellent job. Everyone is their own player, their own voice, their own sound, their own soul. There's no replicating, just forming and formatting into their own feeling. Strict, soul, jazz, funk, you name it. No two players are identical
william is what inspired me to officially start trombone by next year! i already play 2 woodwinds, piano, and cello and i needed to find the right brass instrument to pick up. my ultimate goal is to play this solo

Especially the parts where he gets in his bag and adds his personal touch vs replicating the original nuances.

Bro! This has to be the best version of this that I have seen other than the original. As a musician myself I have but one note. From an academic standpoint you NAILED this, but there was an emotional component that was diminished by you being so technically accurate in your rendition. Just my opinion, but I will love the recording.

There’s a formal vibe to the music. The fluidity of Bilal’s performance is the difference between the talent of getting the notes of this song to the beat, and the magic of giving a trombone a voice. That being said, great job in both your performance AND pro-level audio/video editing👍🏾🙂

He said, he always knew if the trumpet player was white because their sound didn't register or light up his soul. My point? the young yt trombone player is very talented/ pls give him some love but the brother played from his Soul which touched my soul. I am a trumpet player.
