i love all your vids, keep doing what you do. and what i actually did for this was create a segment of a thing. so if i wanted to mix colors i would create a blueprint that had a color mixer two import lines and an export line. and i would actually create multiple versions of it based off of where the imputs are coming from and where i want the output to be. that way, when i inevitably upgraded something, if i were to create a new factory for it, i would just figure out how many segments i need, roundup if its a decimal, then paste that many together and connect the inputs and outputs.
You know I think the reason you’re such an approachable and comforting to watch UA-camr is the fact that you’re nonchalantly pulling out big brain shit constantly in things like polybridge and now shapez io, the humor is there too, it’s just a matter of time before this blows up into another huge UA-cam channel which isn’t a problem at all, just my forethought. Really enjoy watching these after work and before bed time, keep it up!
For copying and pasting, i made a waypoint(zoom out and right click) really far away for all my paste-able factories. I can then make huge factories with all my smaller components.
DerpyLe Squid its not necessarily modular not small. Its large machines that each do one thing really well and i can put them all together to make the factories i need.
@@15shekels In my experience thus far, Building compact modular designs has always left a smaller footprint put together than just cross-weaving lanes to reach a goal output.
Jacob more complex machines with a set input flow are better. It doesn’t matter how large it is as long as its efficient because the map is not finite.
Jacob By later in the game, you’re always restricted by the size of the hub. Once you have a set of modules, you can easily saturate 16 belts with your goal shapes and copy paste shapes.
It was kind of sad, yet very rewarding deleting most of the old base when getting to level 20. Looking forward to the update, I’m an electrician so I’m looking forward to this new mechanic!
You MUST play the level 18. At first, You think: 'Oh, this looks easy.' And then, You think: 'Wait, HOW is that possible?' finally, You think: 'Oh, I got it!!! WTF' Meet level 19, You think: '...'
AuraChanneler The logo shape was far harder than randomized shapes. I put together a system where I have all the shapes and colors going into the area, a bunch of cutters, rotators, painters, and combiners, and I basically connect the shape and color for every random quarter on every layer and done. The title shape, on the other hand, requires specific cutting and layering which makes it harder to use.
A tip I’ve found: if everything is the same level, 6 painters will take 1 full belt in and 1 full belt out, 6 paint mixers or shape combiners will take 2 full belts in and one full belt out, 6 2 way cutters will take one belt in and make 2 belts out, and 6 4 way cutters will take one belt in and make 4 belts out. Using that, you can basically make blueprints for each of those functions, copy paste them, and not have to worry about optimization. And once you do that, it’s a lot easier to keep up with upgrades because the painting has the most complicated upgrades, but it’s just more of the same functions. Edit: also, for 3 double painters, it’ll take a full belt of shapes in and half a belt of color and spit out a full belt of shapes.
Tip I made stuff like a painter or a combiner away from my main base so I can just copy and paste it has helped me a lot. Another tip I made a big production of all the colors so I can just move like cyan all the way without having to make it again.
I was sad or not see a monsters expedition or the room at first, but thus video was wholesome. I can’t not have fun watching Tyler play games. He’s gotta take a break soon though worried abt then getting burned out and not coming back.
13:47 "Aight, so this is a straight-up whatever-this-shape-is factory, and it's pretty good" - Aliensrock 2k20 Shapez io in a nutshell xD and it's why I love it
You shuld try and create blue prints for each function, like: cutting, stacking, painting and so on. It makes it easyer to build large factories and have a full belt of them.
actually that's a pretty good idea, and if you could copy paste on both layers then you could even label what goes where, and maybe even read and write the inputs and outputs for the shapes.
i've been a big fan of this game recently, has really gotten me interested in automation games. can't wait to see what the new update has in store. it's really interesting to see all of the different modular designs people come up with, they're like mini puzzles you slowly improve at overtime. I like the idea of straight feeding your output from a merger to a painter, seems like it saves a lot of space. I usually run them in separate areas, I figure if I get an upgrade, I may have to change things a bit so my output is full speed.
@@AuraChanneler yeah, if the developer keeps in random shapes past the last premade level, you could literally construct a machine that allows you to construct any 3 layer shape, programmable with a simple interface. I may tackle that at some point, it seems like a fun challenge, especially if you want a full belt output or two.
Hey Tyler, not spoiling anything, but you have a super complex shape coming up and you might want to figure out how to make all sorts of factories. Also upgrading conveyor speed is very helpful so that your factories go faster and you don’t have to wait as long for the resources once you have them made
Your factory at 3:05 is inefficient because it exponentially gives fewer and fewer grey shurikens as it goes along the factory. Think about it, it starts by splitting 50 50, then one of those 50s goes 25/25, then 12.5/12.5, and so on. The rate at which something on the right getting a shuriken is significantly greater than things on the left.
No, that's not how the game works. If an output belt is full, the balancer will send all of its input to the other output. So in the end all painters get the same amount of input shurikens and dye.
Jonah Tharakan if you split the input up evenly, or even provide one full flow of input for each module then the problem is fixed. I tend to use 1 for every 2 modules or for the whole machine if im running low.
@@Elliot.2591 Each module has a speed limit so you can't do that and expect your output to increase. The way aliensrock did it is the way most players do it, and it is perfectly fine.
