It’s been 8 weeks since i broke my tibia (ankle area) and it’s been 2 weeks since I started walking. I don’t know if my ankle is strong enough to drive but I really want to get behind the wheel again. Thanks for this video
Same, like i am literally stressed broke two bones on my right ankle its been 4 weeks but it feels like a yr 😭, i tried with my left but its just not working. But i got two weeks left see what my doc says. So hopefully i can with the boot thingy. 🤞🏾
@@brexy19 I did it twice with the boot when I had no other choice. Be sure you can get a grip on where to place your foot to accelerate and also don’t be going too far! In my cases I just traveled down several blocks.
It took 8 months for me to get back behind the wheel. I dislocated as well as fractured my driving ankle. I just didn't have the range of motion until then. In addition, there was neuropathy and soft tissue damage that made sharp pressure painful. It was a mess. But that was 5 years ago and I am fine now.
Sounds like me…dislocated and fractured ankle. I’m just 3 weeks post op, one week down in a cast- right foot, non weight bearing. Started back too teleworking this week, noticing swelling so I’m supposed to elevate it every other hour, which I’ve not been doing…so I’m going to have to be a good patient and elevate every other hour as the doctor said!
This makes me feel better. Likewise for me dislocation and open fracture on dominant side...however I had lacerations/cuts that required stitches on the inner arch and heel. It's been 9 weeks since injury, 7 weeks out of cast. I'm still in the moonboot practising light weight bearing and do exercises... which hurts later on especially overnight. I drove up the road wearing the boot, had to push my seat far back so the boot wouldn't catch the floor mat or interior. I would not recommend driving in the boot. Second PT next week and hoping things get better because I'm seriously slipping into a weirder, dark state of mind because of my current status of no activity 🤕
I broke mu Ulna & radius. Had surgery a week ago. I'm in a cast. Dr said I could drive. There is no way I would even try! I won't risk hurting anyone else and myself.
Funny story, not the safest one though. When i tore my ACL skiing. I wasn't told what it was at the ski resort, but told to take some Motrin and get some sleep. After that I drove myself home. Next-day it was so swollen and painful I couldn't even put any weight on it and my Brother took me to the nearest clinic. 1.5 y post surgery and its fine now though. It's kinda funny to think I "broke" my knee and then drove myself home.
I broken my left ankle in early March of 2012. I did wore a boot on my left ankle and even did drive a car after 3 1/2 months later. I did torn a legitimate in my right ankle in a bad fall. It was a little bit over 2 weeks to drive a car. I took the boot off my leg to drive a car. It was hard in the beginning. It took awhile to heal, too.
I got my leg cast off a week ago and it was on my left leg. I am still trying to put more pressure on it and I was wondering if I could drive because it’s my left leg.
Hi David I was diagnosed with OCD in my right knee. My surgeon said the best thing to do is to just take it out because my cartilage has grown back about half as much as my healthy cartilage. Is this the best thing to do?
I sprained my right foot after falling down the stairs. My doctor says I can still drive since it’s only minor but it hurts to put weight on that foot so they gave me crutches for when I need to walk. It also hurts when I have to put my shoes on cause it feels tight from the swelling

I’d rather be safe than sorry so I’ll not drive…it’s a bummer though because I’m the only driver in my household!

Is it dangerous to drive with your left foot in an automatic car and have your right foot hanging in the passenger seat
As long as your head is at the back seat
Very risky

Get a laced up ankle tighten brace.
@drdavidgeier got boot on my right foot - non bearing weight. How do you feel if I try and drive with my left foot? Just to work and back.
I hurt my left tendon Achilles but I’m driving with my right. I’m in a cast. Is that ok?
