one of the greatest musical talents of our time. singer, songwriter, nature activist, etc, etc, the list just goes on. sleep well john. when I go to my reward, I truly hope I get the chance to tell you personally just how much you've influenced my life. and just how priviledged I feel to have gotten the chance to enjoy your works..
Saw you in Pelsall Walsall a number of years ago, the next best voice to John Denver. You were a great tribute the best I've heard. Thank you peace and far out!!
My most favorite song of yours, John! Rest in peace! I think of this song every time I push the canoe out into the lake where I spend time in Northwestern Montana. I would've loved to have you spend some "down time" on my property.... God speed....
Absolutely beautiful John, you nailed it. Apart from one wrong note the girl also sang beautifully, it's just that we're not used to him singing it as a duo. I love that John was happy with her performance. 💖
This duet was sung at a symposium, not a concert. John's strong, sure voice carried the tune excellently and he wasn't flustered at all. Please don't worry about John - he can look after himself! She was okay and I enjoyed the melody and the words. Thanks John, always a joy listening to you. God bless.
I never got to know much about him when he was popular back in the day I just remember my Mother liking a couple of his songs as I liked them at that time , so it’s now Iam learning about the man he was and his life everything and loving so many songs that I never heard until now I so much admire his love for Nature but I wish he could have never taken flying lessons as he would be probably alive to day at age 77 yrs thanks for your sharing these videos in these Corona Virus time May 2020 as we are all at home and need music to keep our spirits up 🙋♀️🇮🇪🙏🏻🦠
so thankful for all that he taught me about nature and so thankful for his music..Miss him so much. Got to Aspen twice and can see why he loved it so much. His birthday is coming up.So So sad
+Brook Anderson: she did just ok, and he was generous with her there at the end. that guy was used to playing for full coliseums in his day...a good soul he was.
All the negativity about Ms White's ability is unfounded. Perhaps they didn't get much practice in....maybe it was spur of the moment....how many of you could've stood up there next to JD and do as well. Loved this version... plus Ms White has a memory she gets to keep. The rest of us got CDs to lsten to.... God bless..
Give it a rest. She may be a great singer, but on this occasion she was all over the place. You ask if anyone else could do better, but I suspect anyone in the comments could also sing out of tune.
I'm the woman singing here. Here's the story! I listened to John Denver as a teen, night after night. He was a part of why I started singing and writing songs and later made many albums. I had sung an original song at the symposium earlier that day with my then husband Peter Kater playing piano. John said he liked it. I told him how much his music had meant to me, and he said let's do something together tonight. You pick one of my songs, he said and we'll do it. I was floored and, instead of taking a few minutes to think, I just chose one of my favorite songs of his. We did not rehearse, and I didn't have any way to prepare. No Spotify! My ego has a rough time with my tentative, and sometimes off key, performance here! Still, I love John, and I'm proud to have been on stage with him. Cheers, all. We love you, John.
@@chriswhite8015 thanks for sharing what happened... You have nothing to be tentative about. You have an awesome memory stashed away...wow, John asked you to do a number with him. ...I have had dreams about about him coming to my house and asking me to play my guitar with him. I love the stories about Joe Henry coming to John's house and them writing songs together. For you, a moment frozen in time...lucky girl. ..music makes pictures and often tells stories, all of it magic and all of it true....
Hi Jason, who is Chris White ? I can not find about her , she is not a singer, not backing vocal, who is she ? Do you know ? Thank you, I`m From Brazil .
Chris White has a story and it was a special evening. I spoke to her a few times that week backstage and she is a special person. Not sure where she is now but I wish her well.
@@elvisleeboy, this performance was at a symposium, she was not a back up singer at one of his concerts. We don't know how much practice she had with John. Her voice is actually beautiful, the problem was in the harmonizing, which takes practice. We are also not used to this song being sung as a duo. John seemed very happy with her performance which speaks volumes.
John is as always so Gracious A real gentleman, miss him so much Thank you John❤
Johns music makes sense miss him so much

Beautiful. What a sound on that guitar and his voice just seemed to get better and better with age.

A truly beautiful song, when I feel sad, this song brings me round. Love the guitar playing. Take a bow john.
So.... I happen to love her vocals and harmony. Clearly - he did too. I love this version.

A tough song to do a duet..... i think she did great. JD makes us all look like mortals. He was so talented.

Wow! Perfect harmony!

RIP. JOHN Denver my frien
She was off key.John was very helpful to guide her along.A very good song n composition by JD indeed.
Fantastici!!
I just wish these didn’t get cut short before we can see the next part until the end
You're half right... I mean, you're right, but it's still really good!
I sure wish. Could show her how to sing the harmonies on this beautiful song, a favorite of John's.
sour off key BAH!!!!!
Much better by himself...
I really like this tune. OK she didn't sound so great, but it was still really sweet :)
@LazyBadgerHC715: One or two more song - I don't have the whole show on video.
Un crack jhonn Denver
@mahogamist i hear ya
This would have been better as a "solo". I don't think their voices compliment each other.
Who is Chris White ? What a beautiful voice, where I can find something about her .
Anyone know the exact day in August 1995 this concert took place?
She is not in the same league.

Chris White beautiful
@@stephenphillips6470 Thank you, Stephen. ❣️ Those were good times.
She can't stay in the key... is she always this bad?
Mmmm don't know her and cudos for having a go but not work for me...Better on his own
They weren't allowed to sing "and pass the pipe around." Interesting.
yeah no offence, but she ruins it
Afraid she ruined that!
Ugh, the lady ruined it! Terrible!!
The girl cannot sing harmony, that's for damn sure.
Her harmony was NOT needed, or in tune... Poor John had to push through it.😂
This woman messed up the song!
No she didn't she did great
@@NatureNoah1104 What is with all these white knights? How does singing out of tune constitute greatness?
@@elvisleeboy you're only saying she's out of tune because she don't sound like the man next to her
