Dan you are excellent at this. Your videos are well prepared and well edited. Your interviews are excellent. You're very friendly and respectful and always thorough. Thank you very much!
I totally agree with your guests! Life style is also a factor. You could live a frugal life but if that is not what you will be comfortable with long term. Try to figure costs based on the lifestyle you eill be comfortable with.
I feel like there is more this couple has to share...maybe others feel like I do that this interview is not yet over. Share part two. Part 1 was about the immersive start of moving to Thailand. I want to know how they sustain themselves. What is their day to day living? More indepth of how they immerse in the culture and what's that like( they only scratch the surface) . Fixing mums house as opposed to buying .. what did that involve? I'd like to know more
Hey Guys ,You definitely gotta do another bag video … 😂 . I actually got a lot out of the bag video . Another great video with nice people . Thanks for sharing !!! 😁
Hi to your guests, Mike and Sara! I am a UC Berkeley retiree here in Thailand. Also with a biotech background, DNA sequencing. 6 years in Bangkok and now Sisaket province. You both gave a good overview of finances in Thailand. I have nothing to add. Thanks.
Your videos are the right length, but I feel a follow up video with most wll reveal some things that might have been overlooked...even though you're an excellent interviewer!
Very valuable vid!! TY!! My emergency fund is same as their!! hahaha. But I am only one person, they are three (including mom) I am more conservative than them!! haha. NO!! My mom visited and fell down. She went to the hospital, including xrays, by ambulance!! Total cost was $117 usd. -Love you Mexico always -
Considering their history and education, I was at the edge of my seat listening. $1900 that supports 3 is pretty encouraging? I am a bit pessimistic about the $150 a year accidental insurance? Anything that's too good to be true.........Great people, and interview!👍
Dan you are the BEST!...very wise information that you provide. Can you please at some point tell us how you handle money matters.? Do you live off of youtube and the rental of your home to travel...what is your story. Inquiries minds want to know.
Great question Oofyrof, I have a video explaining how I make money that pays for my travels and I have a course that is presently available as a bonus for all of my paid subscribers, whether they are a monthly membership or my Lifetime membership. Another great video, could you make a video about how Asia has changed since the war in Ukraine? Some other videos have touched on it, the influx of Russians/Ukrainians in Asia.
Very interesting video but maybe the most important information was missing; do they have kids or grandkids? It doesn't seem like it otherwise they would have mentioned it. Once you have children and grandchildren it becomes very difficult to retire overseas because you would be so far away from them. However spending 2-4 months a year overseas would still make sense.
It just depends on the person and their views. We have four grown children and five grandkids. We have been abroad for a few years and are fine with phone calls and FaceTime. They have their own lives. Others would struggle with this, but many don’t.
@@kleerogers Our feelings also. We are on the clock and want to spend time doing things we couldn’t while raising a family. We are content being the distant travelers that folks can contact when they want.
@@kleerogers Well you don't have to be obsessed with your grandkids to want to see them regularly. The grandkids love time with the grandparents and the parents enjoy an occasional break. A few hours hardly takes over your lives and you can still do pretty well all the traveling you want. My point is simply that being in a far off country pretty well all year long really impacts the level of connection you have with your family.

Thanks for the info!!
In 2012, I met my adopted brother on a bus in Bangkok. There's something about those buses and meeting people.
Love these videos! You are my favorite, most insightful, UA-camr on travel/retirement overseas! Thank you 🙏🏼. I’m going to do it…making my plan…..
I agree with him that the video on what you pack was very interesting. Also, good to get another perspective on budgeting. Good work Dan.
Thanks for the reading list. Need to pack then for the next vacation.
This is a wonderful Love Story and excellent advice.

Another great video, its nice to hear how others have done it. thanks Dan.

Google his agent and ask.
Great video Dan and Qiang as usual!!! Does their budget of $1,900 include rent or did they buy a home in Thailand? Thanks!!
They moved into her mothers home and did some remodeling.
Dan, I really enjoy your videos and interviews. How would you currently invest 50k in order retire overseas sooner than later?
Attitude of gratitude for who you are and all you share ❤
Great information

Yes, I agree this would be interesting if there are any material changes. Thanks Dan!
But this on a list of things to report on. Thanks!
Dan i could start now earlier than expected but can’t be away from mom and dad there in bad health and mid 80s
Family first
Excellent !
I love this couple! Both of them make a lot of good sense. Thanks for the video!
Thanks Dan good video
How many accept crypto specifically bitcoin? Seems like it could solve alot of inflation currency problems.

@@kleerogers That's pretty sad actually, hardly a family at all. My situation is entirely different.
Did they share their sources of income?
No. That would be very valuable. That is the thing I am most interested.
