Thank you for sharing. Please what size of industrial needle should be used for light, medium weight and heavy weight fabrics while sewing on an industrial sewing machine. I would appreciate it if you suggested tension and stitch length too. Thank you.
Excellent for serious equipment as tactical belts, cordura rigs, molle Pouches special harness for millitary or police use etc. It can handle easy webbing like 13 type(7000 lbs) or type 7 with nylon threads.
I have a small upholstery shop, I have a very old Juki LU563 walking foot machine. I am looking at getting a 2nd machine to use for light medium fabric. Should I consider the 555-, 8700 or 8700H? I'm wondering if the 8700H will be too heavy and similar to my walking foot? Thanks
What do think is better suited for making backpacks from Canvas, Cordura and X-Pac fabrics (with zipper pockets, roll top lids, overlaying straps...), the DDL-8700(H) or the DU1181N? Like, the one to do it all? Thx in advance!
Maybe I know this already, but where am I check my “feed set” to make sure it’s correct for my thicker fabrics? And is nylon a good standard for thick fabrics
I mainly work with vegan leather and denim, what model do you think I should go for ? Also, the specs says that the 8700H is compatible with 19 - 23 needles but would size 16 / 18 fit ? Thank’s
This machine can use size 16 to 23. We have used size 14 without issue too. I think this machine will work, but a walking foot may be better. Look at the Juki DU-1181N or DNU-1541 series. They are on our website. www.sewinggold.com
Sometime make a video with an 8700, and show how SLOW it will stitch, by turning the survo motor down to it's slowest setting. So many of your videos only show machines running full blast.... no one sews like that... I want to see how SLOW it will stitch for precision, SLOW work, not "machine gun mode", thanks!.
JP Stone Thank you so much for your comment. 👍🏻 They always demonstrate multiple layers of straight material, lying flat. But what if you have multiple layers of webbing CROSSING each other, with some mesh or neoprene in the middle, and a D-ring to build in, and on top, having to sew it in a rounded shape? You want to make sure that the machine stops exactly when you release the pedal, not three stitches later, you want to know how SMALL of a stitch it can sew. And how slow. Those demonstrations always show the power of the machine, but you want your results to look professional, rather than getting it done in 15 instead of 30 seconds.
Hi, how would I switch the plate and feed dogs? I am sewing everything from silk to leather. I need some help finding the right Juki. I’ve been doing research but I’m just confusing myself at this stage. Are needles available for all these different fabrics?
Hello i just bought a juki 8700H and I cant get the motor to rotate the hand wheel, the hand wheel has no trouble rotating and the motor seems to have no trouble rotating, i have tried adjusting the tension on the pulley but no matter where I move it whether i make it loose or as tight as it can be it still doesnt move the the belt to rotate anything, not sure who to go to about this and I cant seem to find many people who are having a similar issue, since then ive taken off the black cap on the tension bolt then brought it down to pretty much the end of the bolt and if will work 50% of the time, other times I have to apply pressure to get it to catch, but once it catches it has no trouble continuing, lastly I think it is a 40" belt which was supplied with my machine, i could maybe rig something to get it to have added pressure upward, but do you think I should get a smaller belt and if so do you provide those at your store, or do you think theres another solution to this issue
Check to make sure you have the machine hand wheel on correctly. There is a flat spot on the shaft where one of the two set screws has to contact. If is not on correctly, you can get the issues I think you are describing.
I could not tell you the tension because there are no numbers on the tension dial. Needle size will depend on layering and how dense it is. This machine can use size 14 to 22. A size 16 needle would be good for a couple layers of vinyl. Use DPx5 needles (135x5).
I have the DDL 8700 and for some reason the thread tension tightened and the thread break after an inch or two. I spent 45 min. on the phone with a tech and did everything he said. Even with the tension knob fully open, the tension on the thread coming out of the two "flywheels" and tension wire remains tight. What do I do? There is no commercial Juki repairmen in my town. Thank you.
I did not change the plate and feed dog. You are able to use other plates and feed dogs, but make sure to adjust the feed dog so it does not hit the plate. Check it with the longest stitch.
I’ve been looking everywhere and it’s so hard to find a straight answer. What type of needles does the 8700H use? I seen in one of your videos that the 8700H uses a different needle then the 8700. My mom bought me one for Christmas & I was trying to buy needles and thread so I can start using it right away. If anyone could lmk, that would be amazing & extremely thankful.
@@Sewinggold Thank you so much. I have a cart ready from you guys 😉. I haven’t hit the check out yet bc I wasn’t sure if that’s the right size needle. But I can’t find the DPX5. Just the DPX1, DPX16 & DPX17.
@@Sewinggold Idk what I was looking at 🤦🏽♀️. I was on your website & like 3 other one’s trying to find the answer. I went to your website after I left that comment and didn’t see anything besides machine 😆. Okay, thank you for the number. I’ll give you a call 👌🏽
Hello! Thank you for the video. I'd like to ask, will i be able to sew chiffon or silk like fabrics on this machine? As i understand H is for heavy fabrics? I'd like to buy Juki sewing machine, im not familiar with industrial sewing machines but id like to sew different kind of fabrics on -from chiffon to coat or winter jackets. Thank you.
If you plan on sewing the thinner fabrics I would look at the standard DDL-8700. Even thought the H version can sew on lighter fabric, the DDL-8700 is set up out of the box to do it. The DDL-8700 can handle thicker material too, but not as well as the DDL-8700H.
is this suitable for lightweight though its design for heavy weight?? ill just want machine that can do from light to heavy.
Thank you for the video, what size needle are you using and the thread size for the light fabric?
Can you also use regular thread on this as well? I will of course buy the intended thread when I sew heavy projects.
Yes. You may have to adjust the tension a bit.

Hi, I'm having issues with my machine chewing up fabric on organza and satins. The feed dogs are leaving marks, how do i adjust this?
You may want to change the feed dog to something a bit less aggressive. You can also try reducing the pressure on the foot.

Both will do the job, but I would prefer the DU-1181N.
I JUST ordered this same machine today. Super excited.
Hope you enjoy it!

Hi did you find any Juki finally?i have the same problem because im sewing for clothes to bags
Amazon has them.
Thanks for this very helpful video! What Needle size and thread thickness is recommended for a DDL-8700 for sewing 2 layers of vinyl?
The thread size is up to you. The maximum thread size I would use on a DDL-8700 would be T70. You can use a size 100/16 or 110/18 needle.
@@Sewinggold Thank you sir!
I want to buy sewing machine. Is this machine is good. Are the DDL 8700H and DDL 8700 same or different machines.

Can you add a drop guide and a flip pressure foot
I have not seen a drop down guide for the DDL series machines. What do you mean by flip up presser foot?
The 1181 says it is self lubricating, is the 8700h the same?
Yes

What size thread are you using with what size needle?
hy plz reply me... my machine damages my fabric leaving t with a simple torn
How does it go riding up onto multiple layers of fabric and back down mate ?
I have the 8700 and it does good going over seams, it hasn’t backed down from anything I’ve given it
Definitely heavy duty
As far as layers, I think I’ve only gone about six or eight of canvas, and I don’t feel the limit
Does it come with knee lift
Yes, it does come with a knee lift.
Do you have a different plat and feed dogs on for sewing this material?
I did not change the plate and feed dog. You are able to use other plates and feed dogs, but make sure to adjust the feed dog so it does not hit the plate. Check it with the longest stitch.

I thought #19 needle is smallest u can use with H model. Is it true?
That is what the specs say, but you can use size 16.
Hi! Can this machine sew multiple layers of leather?
What type of leather?
I want to see how the motto works
Thank you! That was very informative.
You're welcome!
Non-sewing question: What camera are you using? The autofocus is great. So many videos have terrible focus, especially for close-ups.
I'm using my Galaxy S7 cell phone.

It will not work well on lighter fabrics.
