Steve, thanks for this video. The 1541s will be my next machine I purchase from you in a couple months. It’ll be for my leatherwork. Thoroughly enjoying my 5550n! It’s perfect
adjust the foot lift rotation ( if it moves square pattern like a 1508 ) , shorten the stitch length , lighten the presser foot tension . with lighter thread size and less thread tension ( sometimes ) ya can get it to not pucker .
I have a new1541S that I bought to do auto interior. I am using Velour on a 1/4" fabric backed foam. Problem is the velour is puckering really bad. I am not sure how far I can out I can move that screw on the top to lessen the pressure on the presser feet or if I should loosen the thread tension . Any suggestions would be appreciated
The machine are the same. The 1541S just has a safety feature to help prevent you from messing up the machine if something goes wrong. Yes it does come with a servo motor
Hi, Great video. I am looking into purchasing a Juki walking foot for car upholstery which would consist of Alcantara, vinyl, tweed and leather. Would you recommend the 1541s or the 1181n ?
I read the 1181 feed dogs have teeth that will leave marks on your leather so unless you can get a feed dog with smooth teeth (is that an option?) I would reconsider.
Yes. We have smooth ones and ones with teeth. sewinggold.com/product/left-toe-zipper-foot-for-walking-foot-with-smooth-bottom/ sewinggold.com/product/smooth-zipper-foot-right/ sewinggold.com/product/left-toe-zipper-foot-for-walking-foot/ sewinggold.com/product/right-toe-zipper-foot-for-walking-foot/
Can someone explain the difference between the 3/4 HP servo motor, the 6000sm servo motor and finally the 6000sm servo motor with synchronizer? These are the 3 choices I have when purchasing this machine.
I’f I have already adjusted the top bolt on the top of this machine to adjust the pressure on the foot, but I am still getting marks from the feed dogs on my project , how can I fix this so that I no longer get marks on my material?
Thanks for the video. What size thread are you sewing with, with your #22 needle? Still waiting for a new position finger for my new machine. A few minutes of sewing with T135, #23 needle, locked her up, I think somehow bending the nub on the finger, rendering the machine a door stop for the last two weeks. Sure hope that fix works. Pretty discouraging to have it crap out, first time sewing. Thanks!
We had T70 on this machine. T135 should work fine with a size 22 needle or higher. We used T210 thread with a size 24 needle on the same machine and it had no problem.
Bear - Thank you for your reply! I wish I had found out about you folks, before I bought my machine from the other outfit. Something screwed up the works, first time sewing. They tried to tell me that I should only be using a 69 thread. All my research indicated that it coukl handle T135. Juki had included only a few #23 needles, which, indicated to me that it could use the larger thread.
You can definitely use larger thread as I stated before. If you run into any other issues, check some of our other DNU-1541S videos or request a new one. I cannot always do them right away, but get to them eventually when we have extra time. Good luck with your machine. It is excellent when working properly.
Steve, I love your videos. I am doing research on a industrial sewing machine and lie this machine. My question is, will this machine do light fabric with the correct tension? my wife and kids like to quilt and make oven mits and stuff like that. For me I want to sew heavy nylon 500 to 1000d Cordura and webbing. is it a bit of a reach for this machine to do both ranges?
It is for medium to heavy material. We did a series of videos showing this machine and others sewing light, medium and heavy material. As you can see from the video, it is not very good on light fabric.
I am in the process of purchasing a Juki Dnu 1541s sewing machine, I have two questions. # 1 What type of needles does this sewing machine use? and what kind of thread?
I just purchased a 1541s and so far I am happy with it. Thanks for the video. It was very helpful
Glad it helped!

Thank you John. We appreciate the support. Reach out anytime! Those DNU-1541S should be back in stock mid to late February 2021.
Why don’t you adjust your tension instead of folding the thin textile into 4 layers?
Hello Steve this is Jermeine I'll be in on Friday if not before to get one love it
Sounds good.
I’m saving up to get this machine. Can’t wait to have it lol

Could you change the stitch/base plate on this machine to prevent puckering on thin fabric
What thread and needle should I use on heavier leather with this machine.
My local shop has a 1541 on offer, not the S. Is it there a huge difference between the two? I mostly make motorcycle wear...

Haha....I ended up putting a stabilizer between the foam and velour....stitches perfectly!
Can a 1541 sew with Thin thread? Like a size 14 or 12 needle sucsessfully? Im seeing a thick thread.
It can sew with T45 thread. It cannot sew with size 12 or 14 needles. The smallest needle you should use is a size 16.
Hi, your videos are so helpful. I am now having issues with thread size #138 I am using size 20 needle do I need a bigger size?
What is the difference between the 1541 and the 1541S? Also, does this machine come with a servo motor? Thanks.

@@HeyItsPrima Thanks. should have the "S" model here this week.

Your demos are great! What machine would you recommend for a custom upholstery shop? This one or the 8700h?
The Juki DNU-1541 or DNU-1541S are a much better choices for an upholstery shop.
Is there a zipper foot for this machine ?
Yes. We have smooth ones and ones with teeth.

What type of thread do you use?? Cotton, polyester, nylon???
Polyester and nylon.
I’f I have already adjusted the top bolt on the top of this machine to adjust the pressure on the foot, but I am still getting marks from the feed dogs on my project , how can I fix this so that I no longer get marks on my material?
Have you tried lowering the feed dog just slightly to minimise it. I work with leather and it's to be expected.

This machine will not sew on light fabric well. An oven mitt may be OK, but nothing light like a t-shirt. Thanks!
SewingGold.com with what i have in mind what would you recommend? Thank you for your reply
is the Safety switch worth it?
If you do not have access to a mechanic close by it is.
@@Sewinggold sir what s the price
Man, I wish I had bought this instead of the DDL-8700
Why is that? I am looking at 8700 and your advice would be greatly appreciated.
I bought 1541s 2 or 3 weeks ago and now I realize that I need the 8700,we can exchange ,what do you think????
What kind of needle that you used? The type /the brand and the number of the needle.
We use Groz Beckert needles. The leather needle is a 135x16 and the needle we used for the other material and vinyl was a 135x17 class.
Does this machine have speed control?
Any machine we sell with a servo motor will have speed control, including this DNU-1541S. Thanks!
Isn’t this a machine for heavy materials and upholstery work?
It is for medium to heavy material. We did a series of videos showing this machine and others sewing light, medium and heavy material. As you can see from the video, it is not very good on light fabric.
