9:59 Maybe the performance increase is in part because you're playing in windowded and not fullscreen like on windows? I'm not denying that linux is better, it is, but playing with less pixels is a garantueed way to get more fps.
if you REALLY want the best performance, i would reccomend: upgrading cpu & ram repasting and cleaning everything use simply optimised. fabulously optimised is great, but simply optimised is a lot more minimal, while doing its job just as well. these should help roughly, but if you want the BEST performance, your computer may be unusable to some people 1. switch os'es. im talking about linux of course. but not ubuntu or mint, the least memory/cpu intensive distros like arch or gentoo (i have set these up but you'd probably need some experience with the terminal)
@@XXxerom never heard of catchyos, but something more memory efficient would be a little better. still, 200fps is great. unless you REALLY want the most fps, its good.
My laptop is about 8 years old and Minecraft runs 30fps not consistent tho I'll try your method of getting more SSD and more ram and get back to you in a few weeks

@@Saxofome It was a joke, but I'm pretty sure he actually didn't put his options at the absolute minimum. Although maybe I'm misremembering what 2 chunks of Render Distance look like in Modern Minecraft, as I usually play old versions of the game (which have Tiny, Low, Medium and High Render Distance options rather than a number), considering these more modern versions don't run well on my machine... I hope I'm not coming off as rude or anything, that's not my intention!
Honestly, while Fabulously Optimised is a fine modpack, from what I remember from the top off my head it still lacks some pretty good optimization mods. You could've probably made a better one if you chose to run Embeddium instead of Sodium and stuff like that.
That cpu looks socketed! could that be upgraded by chance? edit, my grammar was very redundant. I watched this video in multiple parts and thought you were a tech channel lol, I still enjoyed this video!
it's a socketed cpu, it can be upgraded. It's an Ivy bridge M CPU, so it would be socket G2, so a good cpu to upgrade to would be an i7-3610QM most likely.
Why not give some of the mods such as sodium a try that help the fps also running a capture card can hurt performance as its drawing the same screen twice not once from my understanding
@@nkincraft when i used sodium alone i got better fps than the FO modpack. I also installed lithium alongside sodium and the fps boost was huge, a way better combo than FO
why is this man only at 2k
That’s what I’m saying
Yea

My friend have this laptop, and he used CachyOS (arch based), and linux mint on it. On both OSs he had like 200 fps.

Don't use optifine. Sodium is better in every way. Also use lazy dfu to launch instances faster. Also use starlight, krypton and lithium

Yes you can if you use optimization mods.

Am.back the laptop now runs at 60+fps consitent although you have to turn off safe startup but still nice fps
if i remember well on these kind of laptops you can also upgrade the coy
