    This format combining the process and the resulting photos is ideal and digestible to watch. 8:04

    I admire how you're always investing yourself in learning more about the films, and doing shoot just for the experience. I know you've built up a lot of personal experience already, and you make everything look smooth and easy, although I'm sure it takes a lot of work behind the scenes. I love what you captured here, and as always the video is awesome :D

    I love your photos, even the Ektar ones that you didn't seem that into, and I love the Getty! One time I went, a few years back, and I took a Hasselblad 500CM that I borrowed from a friend, my Leica M6 AND a Nikon F!. I was carrying all 3. I think I had black and white and color in the two 35mm cameras, but I'm glad i'm not the only weirdo carrying around a bunch of cameras..lol Dunno what I was thinking, but it was a fun time. You've also made me want to give 50D a try. I may have to pick up a roll next time I go to the store, assuming it's in stock.

    Man, your winters look amazing 😂 I really like the blue tones when using Cinestill 800t during sunny days too, and I think it really fits your style of portraits so well! Like, it gives off this airy, chill and nonchalant vibes. Love the use of the shadows as textures at 7:57 😊 as always, amazing work!

    For some reason I kinda feel like taking photos outside on CineStill 800T and push-processing it +3 stops, but at the same time I'm not sure I can justify it with all the short and dreary days I have at this time of year where I live and the cost of the film

    • @itscapturedbysam
      @itscapturedbysam  2 роки тому

      This is definitely not a cheap film to shoot with, I love Cinestill but since I haven’t tried Portra800 yet, and there are some other brand that also makes 800T films I would like to try and see if there are cheaper alternatives 🥹~

    Your scratches on the negatives might be from debris and dust collecting inside the Pentax's shutter.

    Could the white lines on the 120 Roll be some mishap that happened during development of film???

    • @itscapturedbysam
      @itscapturedbysam  2 роки тому

      Could be, I went back to the lab and showed them the film they also said it might happen during processing, but they can’t be sure what exactly went wrong~

    I love the Getty Center, and how it was designed with light in mind (the travertine marble). Also, are you liking 35MPro? I just started using them and drop off usually once per week for developing and scans.

      35m is my go to lab. Their turn around time is really fast, since I often need the film done for my videos some time the next day.. the only thing is they don’t do push or pull process, if I need push or pull I’ll have to go to other labs~

  • @oliverthompson8525
    @oliverthompson8525 2 роки тому +1

    I'd say the marks on the 120 roll are from the developing/drying of the film. I've sometimes had similar artefacts when water has been squeegeed off the film unevenly just as it comes out of the tank. Try running it through the stabilizer again and letting it fully air dry, might get rid of them. If not I could see it being an imperfection from the manufacturing process, cinestill has famously bad quality control with this kind of thing. Regardless, they are incredible shots! Really inspiring me to try out portraits

      Also maybe a monopod would be a good compromise for when its getting darker? When the light is fading I find myself rushing to take shots and a tripod can really slow me down. But a monopod with a quick release plate can easily give you an extra 2-3 stops slower without camera shake. Super useful and so much quicker than a tripod if you just need the extra bit of stability

    • @itscapturedbysam
      @itscapturedbysam  2 роки тому

      I don’t have stabilizer at home, might have too get some and try it~ the lab also said it might be Cinestill’s bad quality.. anyway thank you for the feed back☺️
