The story of The Hanger Project: www.kirbyallis....
Fascinating interview! I quite enjoyed hearing his insights
Thank you for highlighting them! I had to redo my whole wardrobe due to massive weight loss and decided to try MyTailor. I’m so happy I did. Honestly the best customer service I’ve had in a long time and just easy to work with. While you do spend a little more than some OTR shirts, it totally worth it. Also thanks you you I discovered the cooper collar and having that done with Joe as well. Would love to see you do a show case of their suits as that is next on my list from them!
Chris St. Martin Thanks for sharing! Yes - they are dear close friends. Such great guys. Exactly what you would want from your tailor. I just received my first suit from them about 6 months ago and am pretty happy!
The Hanger Project great to hear on the suit! Would you be willing to share which fabric you went with? I’ve been debating between several myself and have my “wishlist” about a mile long at this point!
Chris St. Martin Actually, the grey flannel suit I wear in many of my videos is from Joe.
Great videos lately! So interesting!
How do you flare your out necktie?
I would so like to find similar websites and UA-cam videos for women. Your products and videos are of such quality and well crafted.
Thank you, Kathryn!
Kirby, what can you tell me about Saphir Beaute Du Cuir Pate De Luxe Wax Polish? Difference compared to Medaille d’Or Wax Polish?
The Saphir Beauty Cuir (SBC, as I call it, or their standard blue label), is a good polish. It is definitely better than all of other polishes we used in this video. It contains high-quality waxes and uses natural solvents. However, the difference between the SBC and the MDO is in quality, concentration, and variety of waxes, ingredients.
Saphir Medaille d'Or contains a different and higher concentration of hard and soft waxes, which is why you get an easier, higher shine than in the Beauty Cuir. It also contains a higher concentration and quality of pigments, which produces better recoloring and restoration of the finish.
And there is a "huge difference" in the waxes you are using in the Saphir Pommadier MDO vs. SBC. The Saphir SBC uses almond oil vs the shea butter in the Medaille d’Or. Combined with the unique combination of the other waxes, the Saphir Medaille d'Or is a much better nourishing polish and produces a higher-quality, longer-lasting shine.
Lower quantity of beeswax in the Medaille d’Or vs. vegetable saxes, which produce better nourishing. MDO contains carnuba wax (I'm spelling this incorrectly), which is a harder wax that produces a higher shine.
Tons of differences... is the Saphir Beauty Cuir good? Yes. Is it better than the Saphir Medaille d'Or? No.
The Hanger Project Thank you for the detailed, honest answer about the difference between the two! I’m sold on the Saphir products and im seriously considering using them in my small, side shoe shine business. Have to supplement my retirement income. I was always good at shining my Police shoes and boots! Having retired on medical disability, I gotta do what I can! I have learned a lot from the Hanger Projects videos you’ve done!!
Larry, that's great! The Saphir MDO isn't right for all shoes -- they really need to be at the AE quality level or better. But I think you could easily offer a $25 "Saphir Shine". Others do.
The Hanger Project I’m planning on using the Dubbin Graisse on my clients police boots and shoes. Maybe the SBC. I will use the MDO on the higher end shoes and boots!!
Did Joe Hemrajani close his business?
No, he has passed it on to his son Divij Hemrajani. It is now rebranded as Divij Bespoke. Check out divij.com/
Only 125???
Kirby do you like Star wars?
Darth Vader yes, of course. Why...?
The Hanger Project just asking...
The force is strong with this one..and Dresses like it!
That tie he's wearing looks ridiculously long.
His must be dragging the floor...
