I knew nuts and seeds aren’t bad at all! Altho some seeds are high in omega 6. We need to the closes ratio to 1:1 for a balanced omega fatty acids. Thank you for this!
Great video Dr Jason Crean and Sophie, very useful to know about the omega 3 for birds and the anti inflammatory properties of the nuts, like you were mentioning yesterday at think parrot show to me. Was there a few more you mentioned that have can help in that way?
Loved this! This is so random but I watched one of you unboxing/haul vlogs and you said "If you know a place that sells corn husks let me know as there hard to fine". Even if that vlog was a long time ago I thought I would still let you know what the website is called as they have such a range for birds! It's called garden feathers. They have a website and ship! It's worth looking at. I live local to garden feathers and they have such a big range of things it's like bird heaven! They take care of there cheeky little birds so well. If you do have a look at the website can you let me know what you think of it as I would love to know?! 😊
I would like to hear more about how much a single bird, mine is a gc conure, should eat in a day. I see lots of videos showing large amounts of food being offered, but the you-tubers generally have multiple birds. I just have one. Thanks!!
For one GCC, the recommended portion size is one tablespoon of fresh food in the morning and one tablespoon of dry food in the evening which can be adjusted based on how much your bird eats 😊
Thanks for Dr. Crean and your sharing. It’s so helpful!❤ I have a sun conure. I’d like to know how many safflower seeds/sunflower seeds I could provide as treats (only provided in the training session, not in daily diet) per day?
It’s very hard to give an exact amount- we don’t count each one here but we try and be sensible with portion sizes, especially on consideration with the portion sizes of the rest of their food!
My kitchen is more set up for my birds than us humans 🤪 My birds love all kinds of nuts. I have been using Tops Dream Mix that was collaborated by Dr Crean and Lou, I get both bags, one for my large birds and the one for small birds. I also use Tops napoleon's seed mix for my conures and the Tops All in one seed mix for the large birds and Tops pellets. I also get freeze dried chop by Bird Bites. I looked into Pollys Boutique and they aren't in the U.S. I read we're you could have problems with customs ordering food from other countries. I did a lot of research and found "Bird Bites" freeze dried mix available in the U.S. They have such an amazing variety of freeze dried foods for your birds. This is all for there evening meals. I use the freeze method for my chop for morning feedings. I offer fruits throughout the day as snacks. Am I on the right track ? Is there anything you would change about my feedings ? I'm open minded and would love your opinion 😊 Another great video with Sophie and Dr. Crean
I recently bought 2 budgerigars (2 males). I have no idea how to convince them to eat pellets. They have 2 separate food bowls, with a mix of pellets: Top's and Lafeber. The budgerigars would rather choose to stay hungry than eat the pellets. Do you have any tips for me?
Great video as usual!
cheers mate
Thanks for the info😊
No problem!

Thanks for watching! The tree nuts and hemp seeds are great for omega 3s, and turmeric has anti inflammatory properties too!

Sounds like they are getting lots of yummy diversity in their diet 😊 Jason has lots of cool products on his store too - Bio Bird Blends!

We don’t typically recommend pellets, though TOPs are the best! You can try and modify some of the tips in my get your bird to eat veggies video!
